Men's Firelane Mid OmniTech Hiking Boot 4.3 5 6 6
Awesome hiking/work boot I utlize mainly for work and am on my feet usually 12hours a day sometimes more! They have been a huge improvement than my Merril's I had before! You can be in them all day and your feet are not sore and they are extremely light as well! The insoles are very comgy and form to my foot perfectly! It is hard to find a good show especially when you where a 16! Def would buy again and thinking of getting a 2nd pair! March 13, 2011
Can't go wrong with Columbia! This is about the 3rd pair of Columbia Hiking boots I've had, the first with the Omnitech Waterproofing. The prefect example of how waterproof these are.... After 3 months of use at work (I'm a field super in construction) I decided to stay with these to hike up Half Dome in Yosemite in July. Now granted they had already been scuffed and scraped up just from work but no cuts/tears/rips (amazingly enough-I've cut up other pairs in less than a month). So on the way back the group I went with decided to stop and refill our camelbaks/waterbottles at the river. At that point and just not caring and not wanting to take my shoes off, I stepped into the Merced River and stood in it until everyones bottles/camelbaks were refilled off my purifier. That was probably a good 15 minutes at least and my feet were still completely dry! Not to mention how nice and cool they were for the rest of the hike back down (another 5 miles to the truck). Got to the truck and switched out of those, no blisters and no water! Oh and the tread is still holding up great. Others will start to wear and show the layers of rubber through the tread, still haven't broken through to see another color/layer a year later! The only complaint I have is the toe box seems a little tight and slants into the front a little soon. Like just back from your toes to the front of the shoe-tends to be a little tight and scrunch your toes together from the sides. Thats been with every Columbia I've had though and maybe I need to go to a wide. Otherwise, I just realzied I've had these for a year now when I logged into my account and they are still going strong. Figured its time to retire them and get another pair! Oh and for anyone that actually pays attention to warranties on shoes, I HIGHLY suggest you compare Columbia's Warranty to others. Its nice to know that they stand behind their product and you don't have to authorize charges before they even look at a potential defect like other companies. You pay to ship to them, they pay the shipping back and you get a fixed product, simple as that! How many companies do you know where you put a note in the box saying "I've been to - - - - and back with this. Its probably my fault, but there is sentimental vaule attached to it so I just want it fixed....." and you get a hand written note from someone at Columbia back with it saying good to know we're doing our job, sorry you had to send this in, hopefully this will get you through more! If thats not a reason to stay with a company I'm not sure what is! January 18, 2011
Firelane-Mid Comfortable right out of the box. Nice lightweight casual hiking shoe. If you have a wide foot your going to have issues. I liked the layout of the laces (no hooks). Have some other Columbia products so I expected pretty good build quality and was not disappointed. Ordering and shipping was easy and quick. October 27, 2010
