columbia geocache - best all around jacket
March 30, 2011

What I really like about this jacket is the look and how light it is. I am five feet eleven inches tall and weigh 180 pounds, I purchased a size xl. The Columbia Geocache does not weigh me down when I am ice skating or skiing. There is alot of arm room which is a nice feature when playing outdoor sports. The omni heat does a nice job of keeping me warm and the down does not have that puffy feel. I am so pleased with the service and my purchase that I will be buying the Columbia Chugach vest that uses the same technology as far as the omni heat.

Great Price, Good Product
February 12, 2011

Having seen the commercials on TV and heard the warmth of Columbia jackets, I have been wanting to buy one for quite some time. I waited until the end of winter hoping brick-and-mortar stores would mark down their selection, but all I found was a limited selection and no significant markdowns. Therefore, I took my search online. I selected the jacket I wanted and searched the internet for the best price. I landed at Altrec! I placed my order using the size guide, pictures, and reviews on Altrec's website. Checkout was easy with Paypal, and I received me jacket before the estimated arrival date. Due to the inproportionate length of my arms, most jackets don't fit correctly in the sleeve. This jacket fits great in sleeve length and back length. This jacket is very lightweight. I was concerned about how warm it would keep me, but it keeps me as warm as a much heavier coat.

Pros: Build quality, lightweight, Cons: no inside pocket

Nice Jacket
January 09, 2011

Just bought this jacket. I have Patagonia down sweater and two North Face Thunder jackets. Honestly...the Columbia fits better than the Patagonia and equally as nice as the Thunder. Really nice jacket for the price. Not sure on warmth yet but fit and quality are really nice.

Excellent jacket
January 23, 2011

I ordered this jacket without trying it on since it was not available at any stores. Going off the the reviews I ordered my usual size. In my opinion I thought it was a little roomier than what I am use to but overall it still fits. As another reviewer had mentioned I would have liked adjustable cuffs since the sleeves are a little long. Otherwise the jacket is lightweight and keeps me warm as you would expect a down jacket to do. It was a great insulating layer under my shell and compressed as expected so it did not feel bulky.

nice jacket
December 30, 2010

Except for the Omni-heat Technology, it is just a down jacket like those on the market, not very heavy and nice for casual wear. The shark color looks good, but the color of the zip pullers is black, not as shown on the picture. I guess Columbia has renewed its puller color.

Pros: Performance, Ease of use

This jacket is light and warm, a good deal for the money. Not as soft on the outside as others in this category. Wish there were more colors.

Very good design, is light to use but very well while maintaining body temperature, ideal for use with lightweight clothing. Although I have not tested under extreme wet conditions, responds well to light and medium rain. I'm from a very windy area and in this respect has responded perfectly. I recommend it 100% and sorry for my bad English

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value
