Description

Featuring a design facelift and a new Omni-Shield® goosedown liner, the Glacier To Glade continues to heat up high-alpine dashes and powder-filled forest romps. You’ll get great value with this parka’s three-in-one functionality: don the parka in its original form for the full force of winter-weather armor, streamline down to a shell by zipping out the Interchange liner, or strip to the goosedown liner for a lightweight layer to keep you toasty on the go. Our advanced Omni-Tech® microporous coating on the shell simultaneously keeps outside moisture in check and promotes interior airflow. Waterproof zips on the chest and pockets and full seam sealing work in harmony to complete the watertight package. From downpours to wet-snowflake whiteouts, the Glacier To Glade’s got your back.

Best Deal Ever
May 09, 2011

I needed a light but warm jacket. This is just a perfect one. One thing is that the size is not like other jackets. It has more room in the chest area and less room at the bottom. So, it seems like tighter for the size. For those who have small waist size, it wont be a problem. For others, it will be tight on the waist. Overall it is a good quality jacket for outdoor activities.

Great buy, wish it was slightly longer
September 17, 2010

Great product overall. It's a little short for a 6ft 2" guy like me. I wish it was couple of inches longer. Then it would get 5 stars.

A very warm and comfortable ski jacket
November 10, 2010

I purchased this jacket to replace my old ski jacket. So far, I used it for a week when skiing in Italy. It kept me warm, with a nice fit too. The removable inner jacket is a nice feature to have, as i removed it one day when it was a bit warmer. This is a high quality jacket I would recommend to everybody.

This is an extra warm jacket of high quality materials. Unfortunately -as others noted already- the fit is tight. Usually I wear a 'medium' but I had to return this one and order a 'Large' instead.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use

Keeps you dry!
January 18, 2010

Certainly keeps you dry. Water beads off. Not very warm without the liner though. The shell is very durable. Plenty of room in the arm length. A little more form fitting than many of the other Columbia jackets, but comfortable. It's a bit snug in the arm pit area-needs to be a little bigger, but not a real show stopper. A good value for the $156 I spent.

Pro's and Con's
January 04, 2010

I bought this jacket to wear in cold weather while in Winter Park, CO. The shell does have good pit zips and ample pockets however the liner does not not have any breath-ability. I found myself sweating in cold weather (below zero) under my liner. With the liner its also pretty bulky. I tried the shell with a long sleeve medium strength insulated and a Northface TKA fleece and it worked fine.

Great product, but wasn't what I was looking for.
January 07, 2010

I ordered this jacket and was very excited to getting it in. When I did, I opened the package and was very happy with what I saw. The jacket looks very good. I got the red, and I really liked the shade. I've been looking for a 3 in 1 jacket for some time now, and thought this was just what I wanted, and I loved the price. Then, I tried it on and I was even more enamored with it. It fit perfectly, and was very comfortable. Then, my only problem with the jacket was discovered. The inside down liner (which was very nice and warm) did not zip into the outer shell. It snapped together at three points (end of two sleeves and at the back of the neck.) I purchased the jacket from Altrec from another website, and their description of the jacket was misleading in this regard. I thought they would zip together. I didn't want a jacket that required to be zipped up twice to wear. I don't think this is problem with the jacked...just not what I wanted. I gave it a 4 rating based on what the jacket is supposed to be. I'm not going to penalize the jacket for my lack of knowledge. I would recommend the jacket to others, if this type of jacket is what they are looking for.

Really good for the price
January 13, 2010

I look forward to trying this jacket out on the slopes. However, I was very disappointed that the liner does not zip into the shell despite the description ("streamline down to a shell by zipping out the liner"). Also, it is not the easiest jacket to zip up with gloves on and the zippers themselves felt somewhat flimsy. Still, this seems to be a really good jacket for a really great price.

Great jacket-sizing off
June 18, 2010

Bought this for my husband as a gift. He really liked it, but when he put it on the large (his normal Columbia size) was snug and the x-large fit much better although the sleeves were way too long....had to send it back for something else.

Very Snug on a Skinny Guy
December 30, 2010

Jacket had to be returned due to the fit. I am 6'1" and 170lbs - near beanpole territory. I ordered a Medium as that's what I wear in just about every other clothing category. The size was correct - sleeves were perfect and length was perfect - except for the chest/waist. This jacket is very snug around the waist & chest area. When the inner liner is worn by itself, I had to pull the two sides together to zip it up and had very little space to move. I would love to keep it as it seems to be very warm & well made, but I couldn't wear anything other than a t-shirt under the jacket or it become un-zippable.

This is a nice jacket. It has inside pockets on the internal down layer, which is something I don't find in NorthFace products. Altrec did a great job in sending me the jacket via free 2 day shipping. I am very satisfied with the purchase.

nice jacket good qualities small size
January 06, 2010

i tried on some XXL Columbia titaniums in the store and they were larger than the one i received in this style...other than that i was very impressed with the jacket overall, if i could have shrunken myself i would have kept it...very good quality, what you can always expect from Columbia's titanium line.

very good jacket
March 11, 2010

Is a good jacket and good quality construction. Good fit, but wanted something a little lighter in weight. Decided to go with something lighter. If you like a roomier jacket you may want to get the next size up.

Extremely warm, comfortable while allowing great movement
January 26, 2010

The jacket allows great range of movement. It's truly high-tech in construction in that it affords great warmth without having to rely on excessive amounts of insulating materials. As such, it avoids the confining weightiness of jackets that do. Construction is excellent. The zippers feel very reliable and smooth in operation. The zipper on the outer shell is rubberized, affording an impressive seal against moisture. The hood is of similar construction and warmth, and has a visor like front. The hood is roomy, fitting comfortably over a heavy wool hat (a real hat, not a thin baseball-style or knit cap). The warm inner liner and separate warm, weather-proof outer shell together allow real layering options. On some jackets, the inner liner is often so lightweight as to be good only as a summer jacket. This jacket's inner liner is more substantial, allowing use in a practical range of temperatures. This may be the highest quality jacket I've owned in a very long time. Nice to know such things still exist!

great
January 25, 2010

Awesome for the price with altrec. the inside layer is light and your able to move around easily with it. feels very waterproof tight. Excellent optional zipper vents on outershell. both shell and inside of jacket have inner zippered pockets to hold valuables and audio players. I am a normal XL but the XXL fitted best..columbia seems to run a size small with some styles and this seems to be one.

Men's Titanium Glacier To Glade ll Parka
September 29, 2010

Great jacket for the cost. Wears small, but is very warm and water resistant. i reccomend it for this price!

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

I like it a alot ...
January 25, 2010

Great shell and liner, this fits slim closer than any other Columbia outerwear I have tried on in the store. I have the medium and am about 5 9 and 170 pounds and its snug with a base, tshirt, and thick wool sweater but I don't mind and it fits great for everyday when not wearing layers..I haven't been out in super extreme conditions yet but I don't think you'll need a neck gator since with the liner and shell zipped up it comes up to your chin add the hood to that and your face is nearly all the way protected.

great

Good coat...wish the inside liner was attached
January 19, 2010

Great feel for this coat. Very warm for even the coldest days. Hood is also very warm. Material is very soft and the pockets are well placed. Zipper seems a little cheap, but I don't think it is a big deal. I am happy I bought this jacket.

great coat for all climates
January 25, 2010

Warm but not bulky

Exceded my my expectations
January 17, 2010

Went camping this weekend out at Indian springs MD. Was in the 30's at night and the liner was too warm to wear, had to just use the shell. Leaving Sunday morning it was raining and cold yet I was dry and comfortable. the XXL was a little small for me but not too bad, you might want to go a size larger then normal. Overall great Parka!

Very warm jacket!
February 06, 2010

Bought this for my husband, perfect for the winter storms and all our outdoor activities! It still remains to be tested in heavy rain, but with it's great insulation and many pockets, it's the perfect jacket for winter hikes and escapades.

great jacket!! must have! Attn: size small~
August 10, 2010

It's a great jacket and I love it to death. Unfortunately the size is a little smaller than normal and I have to return for a bigger one. Strongly suggest! just pay attention to choose one size bigger than you normally wear.

Great jacket, can't go wrong with a Columbia. Plus it's not bulky like some of the others out there

All the features you need
January 03, 2010

This is a very solid parka for the money. Very versatile. Good looking. Great ventilation, when needed.

seemed good, but too tight
January 26, 2010

I am a medium in most clothes, and the jacket seemed like it would be warm and it was comfortable feeling, but the fit was too tight. the inner layer is tight around the waist and I'm a size 32, and it doesn't stretch so it wont really give you extra room. great price, just have to make sure it will fit.

Nice jacket
January 09, 2010

Well constructed jacket - great zipper locations for venting. Also, nice looking. The only drawback (if you call it that)is that the inner jacket doesn't zip into the shell like on other Columbia interchange jackets.

Great coat, wish they explained it more
December 05, 2010

First off, I'm a fan of the coat. It's warm, keeps the water and wind out, is great for snow or rain conditions, etc. My only beef was about the explanation. The coat is really two coats: outer waterproof/windproof and an inner liner. But they require you to zip up both of the jackets. It doesn't integrate like the other Columbia jackets I've had in the past. So from a convenience standpoint it's not convenient to zip and unzip twice. Other than that the jacket fits well (not baggy).

Pros: Build quality, Performance

Sleek look
January 19, 2010

Well made, efficient design. Great product.

Great coat
January 19, 2010

I used this coat for my first winter hike; it worked just as the description said.

Buffalo snow
January 14, 2010

Pros: stylish, detailed, warm, fits well Cons: liner only snaps into jacket and doesn't actually zip up into it. Leaving the user to zip jacket twice.

This jacket is a great winter jacket and a very good ski jacket. Often times I wore just the liner because it is incredibly warm alone although you will need the shell when skiing or doing other winter sports because it is waterproof. Without the liner zipped in, the shell is a little baggy, but not a big deal. Other than that the jacket is flawless in my opinion and a great value.

I saw this item at another store, try it out and came back to altrec website and buy it, Why? it was the same price, same quality, just for the taxes, and i will buy it again, thanks altrec guys love my jacket, very, very warm.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use

Size too big
May 25, 2010

This appeared to be a solid Columbia jacket with well thought technical details to keep active people warm but cool (not cold) in miserably cold weather. Would have loved to keep it. Too big for my 15 year old son who is thin and too small for my husband.

Order up one size!
January 21, 2010

This jacket is excellent for anyone who lives in a climate with lots of different weather. The outer shell has a much better "active" fit and better material than the North Face Vortex, and is something I will actually wear by it's self. The looks are better than comparable two piece jackets from the North Face as well. The inner insulated jacket also seems to be a little nicer that those found in North Face Jackets; more durable shell and more comfortable around the neck as it's lined better. Very satisfied with the jacket and service from Altrec, I will shop here again!!! I did however find the jacket to fit too tight around my chest and shoulders. I am 5'9" 180lbs. Even if your not "built" I can say for certain that if you plan on layering underneath this jacket you will want to go one size larger. With only a t-shirt on, this jacket felt very snug! Altrec did not have anymore XL in Black so I was forced to purchase it elsewhere!

Keeps you warm, not sweaty and wet.
January 04, 2010

Really great boarding jacket. The inside jacket is light but keeps you warm and dry. The shell itself keeps out the snow and moisture. It has ventilation on the sides to let out heat when you're boarding hard on the slopes. The zippers are a little tight with the waterproofing so it can be a little tricky trying to zip and unzip with gloves on. Overall, I have nothing to complain about. Get it before its gone.

Really good product. I am a student in the north country, New York. This jacket is a very good product and it is well worth the money. I have been in 0 degree whether often and i just throw this jacket on and im warm. There was on case where I was in -32 degree weather; I added a sweater to this jacket and I was fine taking a five minute walk to class. This jacket is an overall great buy and you will be happy with your purchase.

Columbia Parka
December 25, 2010

Great looking parka, functional and stylish for winter sports, spectator activities, and generally staying warm for cold winter events. Only complaint is that with the liner it's a little snug on me.....a 42" chest size, 36" waist. I like the shark color, different from other standard black jackets. Good value all around.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
