Great Jacket
April 09, 2012
I ordered the medium and thought it fight like many other rain jackets; athletic fit with slightly long arms. I am 5'11" and 180 lbs and the medium fit me perfectly with a fleece underneath. The fabric of this rain jacket is much different than other rain jackets I have had, which is a good thing. It is super soft and feels very comfortable. The quality feels top notch as most Columbia products I have owned. I have tested the jacket in moderate rain/wind and it performs exceptionally well. The "Omni-Tech" layer breathes fairly well too.
Pros: Performance, Great valueGreat Waterproof Jacket

I love this jacket, it's waterproof & lightweight, feel like a regular hightech sport jacket. I use this for Hiking in the Rain and also use a Windbreaker.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useExcellent rain jacket

I bought this jacket to protect against the rain and keep my undergarment dry. It did what I bought it for. Fits on me perfectly . I'm 5'7" and 160lbs. I wore this jacket in Vancouver BC and it kept my shirt and body dry. I wore it through snow and rain.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of usegreat jacket but runs small

I purchased this jacket in a size medium. I am 5'10" tall and 165 lbs. and while it fits in the length and the arms, it is too tight in the body. It would fit with a t shirt but I want to be able to layer underneath. So I am returning for a large. If you are between sizes I would size up. FYI, the dark moss color is almost black. The jacket material is nice quality and the hood is big enough to cover my head with out being too large. This will be a great layering piece.
Pros: Build quality, PerformanceGreat

I bought this jacket for a weekend camping trip with the family cause the weather was supposed to be rainy. It was a great jacket and kept me nice and dry the whole time. It was also very windproof, light weight, and smooth. Overall I am very with this jacket and would recommend it especially for the price.
I like it.

It looks nice, fits nice, and ,so far, repels water well.My only con is that all my jackets, including a Columbia are size large, but a large in this jacket was a little too small.I returned this one and bought an XL and it fits fine.I am 5"10" & 197 # & have room for a sweatshirt or a non-puffy vest.Good windbreaker.
Great deal

My wife bought this light weight rain jacket to wear on our summer vacation to London. While touring we were constantly dealing with numerous days of cold, dreary, and wet weather. The jacket kept me both dry and warm. I am 5'10" / 210lbs and the XL fit perfectly allowing enough room for a sweatshirt underneath. I found the vents under the arms to be very helpful in preventing excess sweating with the jacket zipped up. I have only had it for a few weeks; however, I would definitely recommend this jacket to a friend.
Pros: Great design, Great valueGreat medium/light weight water proof, wind jacket

This jacket is a great light weight jacket that is water proof and wind proof jacket. I purchased a XXL jacket and it is a little snug when wearing a poly sweater but it is a great combo. If it realy pours I fall back on my Columbia Titanium coat. This great for spring in the NW. The hood is reasonable in size. I have a EB rain coat where the hood is to large. The zippers on the Hail Tech Jacket are great.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGreat Purchase

So far, this jacket is exceding expectations: 1. Waterproof- Hiked in a fairly heavy downpour for a good six hours and was bone dry. Zippers on front and chest pocket sealed well with no leaks. 2. Wind resistant- The lining gives the jacket a little extra help in that department, but remember this is a shell not a winter coat. If the wind chill is brutal, layers will fit easily under this jacket and you'll be thankful for them. 3. Fit- As I said before it is roomy enough underneath to layer, but still not bulky. Nice slender fit with longer arms and torso. My dimesions are: 6'3", 202lbs, 43"chest, 33"waist and the large is just about perfect. Special Note: the material on this jacket has an almost soft texture to it. Many traditional shells are almost rigid in their feel and make considerable noise when moving around. This material is very quiet and comfortable. As for it's durability, have had it in some harsh brush 2 or 3 times now and it seems unaffected. About the only thing I don't like is the fact that there is no elastic in the cuffs, just a simple hook and loop velcro system. Most jackets seems to be going that way, just a personal preference I guess. If you are looking for a quality lightweight waterproof shell and don't want to "shell" out well over $100.00(sorry, couldn't help myself), the Hail Tech Jacket by Columbia is the way to go!
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
