Columbia half moon shorts
Great shorts, just bought my 2nd pair. perfect length, not baggy, but not too tight. These are great. Got a Large,, I am 5-11 195lbs. Great for hikes, tailgating, sundays. Have swum in them which was fine, but they dry slowly-not designed for that anyway.

Very Good Cotton Shorts
Strong enough for fishing and hiking. May be a little to light weight for serious camping. Great for fishing with plenty of pockets for storage. Also good for canoeing and kayaking, as they dry quickly.

great comfortable shorts.
Like every other pair of Columbia shorts I own, this one is well made and fits right. I had one that was the same design but made of different fabric which was great for quick dry, this one is thicker since it is all cotton. Can't tel how fast it will dry just yet.

Absolutely perfect
Just returned from Egypt and these shorts were indispensible; wore them everywhere and needed all the pockets for what I carried with me as well as what I bought on my excursions. Very comfortable, just the right weight and fit to a "T" plus little care req'd - wash and wear. Will probably order more now that I'm back in the States.

Best shorts ever
I have been wearing these shorts for 6 years. They wear good and look good. I wear them for casual wear and fishing. I am 6ft 3in and 220lbs. and they fit great.

Hard to but worth the effort to find
I have worn these shorts for many years and in past years had no problem finding them in many retail sporting goods stores. Lately, Columbia seems to have branched out with many different other styles and types of casual shorts that may have more popularity than the Half Moon Shorts. Now, I have much difficulty finding these shorts in any color and in my size (M).
The main reasons I keep coming back to the Half Moon shorts are their comfort and durability. Secondly, I wear them in all types of climates, hot and humid in Florida..............cold and windy in New England - with equal comfort.
The two major drawbacks to the Half Moon Short are the Velcro waistband and pocket fasteners which have a tendency to curl at the corners overtime and attach themselves to other clothing they are washed with. Also, the net fabric on the front pockets are easy to snag and rip.
In spite of them two problems, I gave these shorts an excellent rating overall because they fit well, are made well, and are very comfortable, durable and relatively inexpensive.
Thankfully, I can order them in all colors and sizes through Altrec.com.

Destroyed too quickly
After only about 3 months the seams and velcro closures on the pockets are coming apart. These might work out okay if your just lounging around, but if you expect them to last in a work environment you will be severely disappointed. Bottom line durability leaves a whole lot to be desired.

Designed for Comfort
I was a little worried if I had made the right choice when I opened the box. Once I wore the shorts all my worries disappeared! The first thing you will notice- NO BUTTONS. All the pockets use velcro to keep them closed which to me was a big PLUS. You know what happens to "Favorite" shorts one by one the buttons disappear. Until the last one on the front breaks off. Even the button that fasten the shorts closed was replaced with a d-ring and strap with velcro. The shorts has good compliment of pockets. On the front there are two on either leg, the bottom most pockets are made of a mesh material so you can see the contents of the pocket at a glance. But don't put any pens or set of keys in them as they will pierce through the mesh material as I found out on my first day wearing the shorts. The pockets above the cargo pockets are roomy enough to hold tools (I have large hands and can slide them in and out nicely). On the back of the shorts you have two pockets on either side. The right rear pocket there is a smaller pocket just above the opening that is 1-1/2 inches deep. It can hold a pocket knife, coin pouch, because it has a strap to keep it closed unlike the others that use a patch of velcro. The two rear pockets are as roomy as the front ones, and another plus is that the openings to the rear pockets are angled forward. Making removing your wallet a natural motion (right or left). The quality of the material is medium heavy with high thread count making the material soft as if it was pre-washed. The stitching are doubled in critical areas. The belt loops have double stitching and have enough leeway to thread a 2 inch wide belt easily. The first belt loop on the right side has a small loop to clip a key chain to it. Overall I am really happy with my purchase and plan on purchasing more of these shorts.

New Favorites
I love these shorts. They have quickly become my new favorites. I was a bit hesitant at first because they are a little shorter than I'm used to wearing. That immediately changed after my first time wearing them. They're the most comfortable shorts I own.

Great All Purpose Shorts
Comfortable, well-constructed shorts that I wear all the time. The deep pockets are great. I have a 33 in waist and the Medium is a little snug on me but it does fit.

My teenage boys love these shorts.
My teenage boys will only wear these shorts. THey wear well and are great for guys with shorter legs. I have shopped around and this is a good price.

Good if you don't want super long shorts
These shorts are perfect for me as I am not super tall and do not like my shorts hanging below my knee's. The last pair I had ran a little bit big, but this pair seems to run pretty true to size.

Good fitting comfortable shorts
These shorts fit great and are extremely comfortable. They have several pockets that are easily accessed and roomy. The only downfall is that a few of the seams are starting to tear already.

I wear the Brewha shorts almost every day during yard work, fishing or just knocking around. A minor suggestion would be to sew a spare button inside somewhere, just in case...

Mens Half Moon shorts
My husband has worn these short for the past few years and loves them. He has even been stopped in a store and asked, "Where did you get your shorts"? Great for golf and everything else. Nice pockets and great for shorter men with a shorter in seam.

Best shorts ever
Columbia has hands down dominated the fishing - wear market with there PFG line of clothing. These shorts dry fast, are comfortable in any situation, and look good too. By far the best shorts I've ever owned, I wear them all the time.

fits great
Since I am only 5'6", the shorts today are more like Capri's. These fit great and don't balloon on me. I love Columbia quality and functionality.

Great Shorts
These shorts are a good length, have convenient pockets, and are very comfortable. My only complaint is that the velcro at the waist is starting to come off within a week of owning them. It is an easy fix, but still a little annoying to deal with.

Very Nice Shorts
Perfect fit, and nice cloth weight. My only concerns are the velcro waist closures (will it wear out faster than a snap or button?) and the mesh cargo pocket fronts. I'm pretty rough on my cargo pockets, so I hope the mesh is durable! I have high hopes!
