The multi-faceted man needs a hard working short and the Men's Columbia Silver Ridge Cargo Shorts will stand up to the challenge. Go straight from making breakfast at camp to fishing or even bouldering, these cargo shorts can take it.
Lightweight yet rugged, these nylon shorts feature a gusseted crotch for maximum freedom of movement. The Omni-Wick® technology lets them wick away sweat and breathe, while Omni-Shade® UPF 50 fabric protects your skin from harmful UV rays. They may not be a lined swim short, but they are quick-drying and the mesh pockets effortlessly disperse water. The fit is casual and a webbing belt complements the elasticized waist to ensure a proper fit while a great selection of pockets hold valuables.
These synthetic shorts walk the line between clean and rugged style and are equally at ease wading an icy river as they are scrambling for a rocky summit. Think of the Columbia Men's Silver Ridge Cargo Shorts as the classic cargo shorts updated for your active lifestyle.
4.7 out of 5

I bought these for my husband as we do a lot of hiking. They fit very nicely on him. (He is 53 years old). The quality of the material is very durable and washes clean without the use of stain removers. The shorts come with a web belt, which is great because they are hard to find sold separately.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, comfortable
columbia vs northface
September 07, 2012
i like the cut and fit of columbia over northface. they fit slimmer, pockets are more practical and less prone to things falling out. northface fits very baggy (and i am used to wearing things loose), while columbia is a bit more streamlined. quality is great and everything you expect from columbia.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
Great fit - short inseam
May 31, 2012
I always liked a longer inseam in shorts versus a shorter. Columbia markets this product with both a 10" and a 12" inseam option. However, I found that the 12" actually measures out at closer to 11". I am a little disappointed by this but it is still a great technical short.Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

I just got my order today, and I am really happy. Great quality, looks good, very light - you hardly feel you have pants on. No problem to wear it in water - dry really fast.
Practical & comfortable shorts
June 13, 2012
The waist is comfortable and I like the 12" inseam. Pockets are a good design with no flaps to fold up and look nerdy. Durable fabric which is quick drying and cool. Will buy more to keep at my summer home.Pros: Great design, Performance
