I just ordered another pair today. The weight, color, and material are excellent, as well as the rapid-dry. The fit in the length, waiste, and tush is really nice, but the fly is too short (or the rise is too long) creating "access problems" when I have to go. That did not stop me ordering a second pair. They have become everyday favorite.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of useOK for flexible travel pants

These fit pretty close in the pelvis area. I'm 5'11" and 170 and considered slim...I got a 34Wx32L and these are pretty exact. I like the breathability, pocket arrangement, and flexibility to convert (obviously). I also got a darker color (Major) and like those as well. I feel the light color (Fossil) is good in direct sunlight for coolness, and the dark color is generally better looking and disguises dirt more. I got them for travel to Europe, but wear them as casual pants on the weekends.
Pros: Great designGreat pant for golf

I have recently begun wearing the Silver Ridge II Convertible pants when playing golf, and discovered they keep me comfortably warm in the early morning cold. As the day progresses and warms up it becomes very convenient to remove the legs and enjoy the comfort of shorts. The only regret is the inseam in the crotch is a bit too short (40 x 30") for comfort requiring me to wear the shorts lower than I am accustomed to.
Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, Great valueNice

The belt seems a little scrawny and I prefer a parachute clasp to the hook clasp, but fit and comfort were otherwise great. These are great for the hot humid climate here in south Florida and when travelling to central america.
Columbia Silver Ridge Pants Review

Overall, they fit good, look great and functional. I use it for hiking and plain everyday use. Pluses and Minuses listed below: #Pluses -Lightweight - I can wear these in spring/summer for everyday use and hiking. -Pockets: The left side pocket has a zipper with tassel. Stowing secure items here is nice. The tassel is good if i'm wearing gloves, so that I can easily grab the tassel for zip/unzip. Right side pocket is velcro and good for items that require easy/quick access. -Not Baggy fitting: These pants look good if you don't like the baggy/oversized look on the thighs. These pants look good evey for casual/everyday use. -Dual use: These pants unzip to form shorts or regular pants. Great for hiking and summer use! (Good value for money :-) ) #Minuses -A bit thin: It does get cold wearing these in fall/winter. Not a big deal. I just put on an under thremo layer and problem solved!
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueTerrible Belt

I like the fact that these convertible pants do not have a verticle zipper down to the foot, only a horizontal zipper at the knee. This enable the pants, unlike most convertible pants, to be shortened if necessary. But the belt is simply awful. It's virtually impossible to adjust, even with a tortured two-handed effort. To add insult to injury, the belt can't be removed because it's contained within a sheath-like sleeve rather than conventional belt loops. This product would be so much better with a removable belt or no belt at all.
Pros: easily shortenedConvertible pants

I live in South Florida and these pants are my absolute favorites. They're lightweight and super-comfortable. When you get caught in a downpour, they dry in ten minutes. Also, when it gets real hot, you zip off the lower leg, and your off. If the temperature drops, you zip them right back on, and away you go again. I would highly recommend these pants, for warm to moderate climate areas.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueTaken to a Greater Length

These pants were previously offered in S,M,L,XL sizes with the elastic waist band sections if you are between sizes and also provides a little "give" for those of us who need it!. Now it appears you have to order size specific which is fine except I found that I had to exchange them for a 2" longer inseam then my regular length for jeans and slacks. The XL length was just fine.
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use, nice colorGreat Material, Great Pants IF.....

If you are a shorter statured person with normal legs, these pants would be awesome. But for a long legged, small waisted, big legged person, they are binding high waters. I have a 34 inch waist and 36 inch inseam. Most of these styles of pants run a tad long, but not the Columbia. They are true to size. Don't get the 34 inch inseam and hope they are long.
