I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he loves it! The quality can't be beat -- it still looks as good now as it did six months ago. It didn't "pill" after washing like other fleeces have, and the color also stayed just as vibrant. He wore it inside on chilly winter days, and as an outside jacket in the Spring. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering a purchase.

Good jacket
I bought this for myself ,and found it's great soft ,and is very comfort for this price ,but it's a litter larger, next time will chose size s,not M.

Will buy more outdoor gear
I wear my Columbia jacket inside the house ,warm but not to warm and I go outside to check on the kids and play for a little while without changing jackets,and its just wright for that .I can wear a thin shirt or a hoodie and it's just wright .It fits good I ware it all the time I even eat with it and I wash it and it comes out great the color is very very close to when I bought it ,not bulky. I'm wearing a 3xxl now will go down to 2xxl in the next few months its Jan now . will buy more gear from this store.

A great deal on an amazing jacket!!
I bought this jacket for my dad for Christmas, and it shipped fast, which I was very pleased about! I bought him a Small fleece jacket in Charcoal, and it fits him perfectly (he's about 5'6" and 140-150 lbs). In this northern California weather, there's not always a need for a very heavy jacket, so this fleece is great to throw on when running errands or going for a walk around the neighborhood. My dad loves the jacket, and is very happy with it. At such a great price and such great quality, I am very happy with my purchase, and will be purchasing from Altrec again!!

Be careful of size
This item is extremely large for its size, so order 1 size lower than normal. Otherwise, this is exactly what I wanted, and I returned and re-ordered the item in a smaller size.

Very happy with jacket
I purchased this for my husband for Christmas. Its a great price on a great jacket. Feels very warm and comfortable. I may just have to order me one! Size looks a little large for a medium jacket but hopefully it will fit fine.

Great Jacket
I bought this jacket in charcoal heather. The color looks just like it does in the picture. Jacket is extremely warm and soft! Only complaint is that the zippers on the pockets zip up to open and down to close, the reverse of what I'm used to. Great jacket overall! Great quality!

Awesome jacket. Great value! Highly recommended! The jacket fits just like it should for an XL. My husband is 5'9" and weighs about 218. It fits just snug enough to hold in the heat!

Great fleece
Great fleece of high quality. Great value from Altrec, fast shipping.
I ordered black and it's a nice deep black. Note that the Columbia Women's Benton Springs Full Zip is a lighter black (slightly grayish blue) but definitely still black (and looks nice, just different). Very happy with this product. Owned one in the past and the only problem was the zipper melted in the dryer--be sure to air dry or low heat. I own other Columbia products, very solid.

Excelent Quality

The Best
I purchased this fleece jacket in May 2011.So far it is the best fleece I"ve ever owned.The fit is a little large,but I prefer this any way.Very comfortable.The price was great.Perfect for cool mornings or evenings.Great color choice.I would highly recommend to any one.

great jacket
i am 5'9" 170lbs, very athletic build. I'm not the tallest person, I'm not the shortest person; I'm not the skinniest person, I'm not the biggest person. It is hard to find items that fit me how I prefer, and this hit the nail on the head. Not too long, not too large; I could comfortably wear a shirt and a long sleeved henley under this for the winter months (size M). I love this jacket. I may buy a few more incase something happens to it I can have a back up.

Extremly soft feeling
Very soft and smooth feeling shell.
It could be best matching item to inner jacket of wind proof jacket or water proof jacket.
Fit is slightly loose. My body size is 1.74m tall / 64kg weight.
This cloth has a large wrist. So, a little wind leaking exist.

Great Buy
The fleece jacket is VERY comfortable and warm. I haven't tested it in extreme cold but, it has been great in 40-50 degree temps. It is lightweight and I recommend this product.

Works well
I got this for something I can throw on to make the run from the car to the gym, daily errands and weekend bike rides. It works well for all those activities and looks good to boot. I'd highly recommend it. I'm 6'0, 210 and the large is perfect. Shipping was quick and hassle free.

Columbia fleece jacket
This is a terrific product. It's attractive, casual and warm, and nicely made. My only caution would be the sizing. I first bought one of these in Macy's, where I found that, even though I am a classic Medium, I needed this product in Large. So when I decided I liked it so much that I wanted a second jacket in another color, I ordered the Large from Altrec. Sure enough, the Large is perfect for me, even though I always purchase Medium in shirts, jackets and coats. So this product, in other words, runs small. It may run a whole size small rather than, say, a half size small, at least according to my own experience. I am 5'10" and weigh 168, and would call myself slim.

I found this to be a very comfortable jacket that works great by itself or as a layer. The size is perfect for layering uner a rain shell or heavier coat.

Every day jacket
I bought this fleece as layer under a ski jacket,
but its a little bit
bigger than I want.
So now I will wear it as "leisure time" jacket.

Solid fleece jacket
I initially bought this fleece to wear under a shell for snowboarding. However, the large ended up being a bit bigger than I expected so I wear it out as a baggier type fleece jacket a lot as well. It still works great under the shell, but I typically like a more snug athletic fit. The larger size allows me to bundle up a bit more clothing underneath it when needed though.
The fleece is comfortable but it gives the feeling of sturdy durability instead of softness. It does a pretty good job of keeping me warm at a great price.

worth the money
light and warm, every good intermediate layer when ski. The flex belt at the bottom edge prevents snow going in, which I found especially helpful. Collar is warm, too. Size fits well.

Good solid basic fleece jacket
Bought this jacket a couple years ago and have been wearing it as my main fleece ever since. It's soft, comfortable, and has a casual fit. I'm 5'9", 145lb and a small fits well. It's not a tight athletic fit but neither is it bulky.
I can't compare it to a heavier fleece but it's fairly warm, good for wearing around the house in winter, outside in fall, and outside in winter as a layer. I wore it at the Olympics in Vancouver and to Iceland in late summer.
I would have liked if the waist tighteners loosened a little more than they do, but that could be fixed manually if it were a real issue.
For those unwilling to pay more for something reputedly better, like the Patagonia R series, or for those just wanting to add a cheap fleece to their wardrobe, this is an excellent choice. Good jacket at a great price.

Jacket of many use's
This jacket is very versatile. It may be used for a walk on a cool spring or fall evening weather your in the woods or on the beach or ridng your bike thru your neighborhood. It can also be used as an excellent 3rd layer when dressing in 5 layers to ward off 10 below temperatures on the mountains in the winter.

Great product, but is not a winter fleece
This is a great product, it fit perfectly was exactly what I expected it to be. However, as other reviews indicate, it is a very light fleece and is not appropriate for winter wear. All in all, this is a good quality jacket at an unbelievable price. I was very satisfied and will definitely order from Altrec again.

Very comfortable and warm. Wore it around New York City in 25F weather with a medium jacket on top, and was very warm. Fits a little larger than expected, but overall a very warm fleece. Full zipper on the front makes it easy to remove, or keep open if things get a little too hot.

Good value
The Columbia fleece jacket is a mid-thickness fleece that's comfortable to wear around the house. It's lightweight and warm. The only cons are that it attracts pet hair and generates static electricity.

Great gift
I just bought this for a family member who will be attending school in a very cold area next year. He absolutely loved this fleece - it is warm and cozy but also sophisticated. The material is very soft and feels extremely durable. The fleece in black is even dressy looking.
I bought a large for a man of 6ft and around 190 lbs - the fit is perfect.
After purchasing this, I saw a colleague with this same fleece and he said that it's so great, he has it in many colors. Great purchase!!!

Columbia Fleece
You can't go wrong with Columbia Fleece. While being lightweight, it gives you plenty of warmth. The fleece never pills, the fit is great, and wearing these under your coat gives you a great barrier against the cold temperatures of MI.
We spent last Sunday night walking around Greenfield Village , for their Christmas lights display celebration, with the temp in the low 20's, and a brisk wind blowing we stayed warm with the fleece under our jackets. Our son-in-law wasn't as lucky, the sweatshirt under his coat didn't do much to keep his back and shoulders warm.
These are also great worn alone on cool spring evenings.

Always reaching
My husband is not a jacket or coat person, BUT this has become his favorite. I could never get him to wear a coat because he felt like they were bulky. This jacket though is warm and not bulky at all. He actually wears it every time he goes out. He usuallly wears an XL, but I bought a L after hearing from others. The L fits great.

Great base layer
I highly recommend this jacket, it performs exactly as I expected.
I use it as a base layer under a windproof jacket and it functions perfectly at keeping the warmth in. I currently use both Jackets when driving around in my jeep (without all the back windows, so wind is an issue). The combination of the fleece under the windbreaker keeps me pretty comfortable.
The one thing that should be expected is that the jacket alone, while it is warm, offers very little if any wind protection.

Jacket performs as promised
I honestly only bought this jacket because it was on a ridiculous sale I couldn't pass up, but it has quickly become my goto jacket when it gets cold. Obviously not something to go skiing in by itself, but its great for a daily coat or part of layers for winter adventures. I really have no complaints. Would easily pay full price after having owned it.

Oh My whatta deal!
I bought this for my son for Christmas, but I could not wait to give it to him because I knew he would be thrilled with it!! Mother knows best because he loved it and has been wearing it everyday since. It is warm enough to wear in Buffalo NY at this time of year! Warm fleece to an affordable prize
After wearing and using it only once, I'm already sold. The fleece really gives you the warm you need. In my case I used it as a middle layer under my jacket. At minus 5 degrees celcius I was comfortable and did not think even once about the cold weather. Especially as a warming layer under your jacket in the cold days the fleece really does what it's there for - warmth. At first I thought it was a bit small but it fits me perfectly. I'm 172 cm and bought it in a size medium.

nice jacket
I purchased this jacket on the recommendation of the other reviews and so far have not been disappointed. The jacket is both lightweight and warm and feels like a great piece of clothing to have for activities in cool weather. It's been great for keeping me warm on those rare cool nights where I am. As others have said it does run a bit large, but I actually find that a plus so you can layer this jacket on top of something else. Overall good value.

Bought this on deal of the day, so paid <$20. At that price point it meets my need, at full price i'm not sure i could have recommended. Zipper seems a bit cheap, fleece is thinner.

What I expected
Its just what Columbia always provides. The jacket is the same as they have been for years. Light-weight, warm enough for a cool day and a great value for the money. I've had several of these over the years. I'll pay full price for this jacket, but when I find it on sale for less than half price I usually buy one.

Great Casual Fleece
This is a great lightweight fleece for the price. I use it to wear around the house or on cool days. It is not very windproof at all though so don't expect it to suffice on a very cold day without another jacket over it. Also it would be nice if it was interchange compatible.

Sweet lightweight jacket for the price..
I'm very happy with this purchase. I'm 5'11 and 200lbs with athletic build, and the XL fits perfectly with a bit of space like I prefer. This jacket is very thin, so don't order if you're looking for warmth. I ordered it for the fall and for times when layering is fine. Bottom line is that it was a great price, and a great product. Charcoal color is true to the photo on line.
