Description

One of the most versatile pieces we make, this supple stretch softshell has insane heat retention levels, allowing you to wear it in a surprising range of conditions and situations. What’s its secret? It’s all in the technology. The liner features Omni-Heat® thermal reflective, which boosts heat retention by an average of 20 percent to keep you comfortable in much more severe weather than you ever thought a softshell could handle. It’s also super-comfy, with stretch mobility and supreme breathability, making it great for high-octane activities. Plus, Omni-Shield® advanced repellency means that precipitation simple beads and runs off. Zip closed security pockets are barely there thanks to our zipper-hiding Invizzip™, while clean style lines throughout add to the Thermodynamic’s go-anywhere, do-anything appeal.

Lightweight great fit
January 26, 2011

Just got the jacket and was surprised how lightweight it is. Went outside for a brisk nighttime walk - it about 45 degrees. Only wore a light long sleeved shirt underneath the jacket. Although it felt a little chilly for the first 5 minutes or so, after my body warmed up the Omni-Heat thermal reflective lining seemed to kick in and I actually started sweating. The only minor negative I can think of is that it offers so-so wind protection. But then again, that's probably not what it was meant to do. Really like the jacket's styling and fit too - I have a number of different Columbia jackets (L) and this is the best fitting one I own. Highly recommended.

Amazing!!
February 03, 2011

This jacket is everything it says it is. The omni shield is fantastic and is very warm. The unique outer layer is very durable and comfortable. Looks sharp with a variety of clothes. I purchased the black one and love the shade. All in all a great jacket and shipped on time by Altrec! I recommend this to all.

Very Nice Softshell
January 24, 2011

I've looked at softshells for a long time and finally settled on the Columbia Thermodynamic. I've had the jacket for only a few weeks but am very happy with it. I don't have extremely long arms, (at 6 foot) but am disappointed with many jackets. To get sleeves that are the right size, you have to get a jacket that is way too large in the chest/waist. Not a problem with the Columbia. The sizes run true but the jacket is fitted and with a larger girth, one might think about sizing up. At 6foot, 190 the jacket fits perfectly. We recently had a run of -5 degree F days. I was comfortable in the jacket with only a thinner fleece underneath. Love the Omniheat liner. It is a little gaudy, but it's like wearing a space blanket. It also breaths decently. I haven't run a marathon in it, but have been very happy with its performance. I recommend.

Great Jacket
October 21, 2010

I love this jacket and am a big fan of Columbia products. I was searching for a lighter weight jacket that would still keep me warm and this one is perfect. I wasn’t sure the silver lining would actually improve the heat retention, but it is amazing how warm this jacket keeps me. This jacket is also very stylish. I tried on a bunch of the competitions jackets and when I tried on this one my wife said it looked by far the best and to but it right away. The length is just right and the collar and cuffs look great. It looks even better than the pictures on-line.

Fantastic Soft Shell Jacket
November 04, 2010

This is a fantastic jacket that is also a great value. The Columbia Titanium line is just as good, if not better quality than other brands, plus it is usually cheaper. This is a great jacket, with the Omni-Heat lining, it provides warmth without the bulk but is still roomy enough to layer underneath if you wish. Looks great too. I highly recommend this jacket. Buy it if you wish to have a quality softshell that is made for actual outdoor pursuits, rather than just a fashion piece, and you don't want to pay top dollar for another brand name.

The jacket seems to be well constructed and warm. The fit is a little on the slim side but i guess that is the style now. It is warm down to about 35 degrees but any colder than that you will need something warmer. Great jacket if you are looking for a soft shell.

Best Softshell Jacket you'll find
December 19, 2010

Fit: I'm 5'10" and approx. 150 Lbs. I bought the Medium size and it fits nicely, not a "slim-fit", but not baggy either. I tried the Small size, it was fitted to my body, but that meant I couldn't layer up. I've been using the Medium size with or without base layers. One thing to watch out for are the sleeves. They're a bit longer than what I was expecting, but with the adjustable cuffs, I've been able to manage. Purpose: I'm from the south, but now I live in Pittsburgh. I used this jacket (with only a base layer) with temperatures hovering in the Mid-to-Low 20's. It kept me warm, and the wind was no problem. I'm not sure how would you measure the proclaimed "20% warmer", but it seems the "Omnishield" actually works. Looks: I gotten a few compliments so far. I looks sharp, not too soft, not too stiff. I purchased it in Black. However, it's not quite "true" black, it's more like a mix between a very dark green and a dark charcoal. But to be honest, that's what makes it appealing. Conclusion: I'd recommend it! There are hundreds of options out there, but this jacket should easily make it to anyone's "short-list" within the price range.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great value, looks
