I purchased this for my husband. The jacket fits true to size and the color is great(intense red). The jacket is much more pliable than other waterproof jackets and packs easily. This will be great for our summer camping trips (where the torrential rains seem to always find us!)

This jacket is perfect for any wet weather. It has several well placed pockets and draw strings to pull everything in tight if windy. A perfect raincoat!

The rain beads of the jacket very nicely and keeps me very dry. I really enjoy all of the pockets that zip up. I actually had to return the first jacket because of a stain. They paid for return shipping and sent me another new jacket via expedited shipping at no extra charge. Customer service was great and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this jacket and this company.

Ordered the jacket in Mud color and was pleasantly surprised by the pocket space the jacket provides with 2 zippered side pockets and an outside zippered breast pocket. Have done some light hiking in the rain and the water beads right off. I ordered the jacket a size larger to accommodate dressing in layers. Definitely recommend this jacket.

This is great rain gear - we've been having lots of rain in the northeast and this has done it's job. The only thing is the double velcro flap on the front is overkill but hey it keeps the water out.

Great jacket. Resists water well, lightweight but doesn't give up any protection for it and is readily packable. My jacket stays in my book bag and gives me some security in knowing I have an excellent raincoat with me when I head out on my long walk to class everyday. Plus, you guys at Altrec got it to me in a very reasonable amount of time so I am very happy with this purchase.

The Columbia Thunderstorm II Jacket is a great looking jacket and resists water well. I haven't had the opportunity to thoroughly use the jacket yet, but the aesthetics are great and has a great light feel.

The jacket is a perfect spring/summer/fall rain jacket. Your upper body will be completely waterproof while wearing this jacket. It could work in the wind however you would need to wear multiple layers underneath which would most likely require you to go up a size.

This is one of the better rain jackets I have worn in quite a while. I feel the sizing is pretty much on target allowing for reasonable movement (I purchased this for wearing while cycling). I would probably prefer snaps instead of the velcro, but its not a major issue. The pockets are convenient and zippers work well. I would buy one of these again.
John Strait - 2009-09-09Fantastic rain gear
This is my second Columbia rain jacket. The first was the Thunderstorm. I've always characterized that first one as 'the best 50 bucks I ever spent'. I've only had the Thunderstorm II for a week, but so far I see no reason to change my opinion. The jackets do seem to run just a bit small, so I'd recommend ordering the next size up, particularly if you want to wear more than just a t-shirt underneath (that's why I bought the new one a size larger). The only differences I see between the two are that the Thunderstorm II has Velcro instead of snaps, and there is no vent across the center of the back. The construction is rock-solid, and I don't think these minor differences merit deducting any stars from what I think is a perfect rain jacket.

I enjoy packing into the wilderness, and I have purchased several other rain-jackets.
None of the others had so many great features as the Thunderstorm II Jacket.
I have two Columbia ski-jackets, but I didn't know they made a rain-jacket.
I love it.

Shortly after I received the jacket, we actually received it rained 1.3 inches. The jacket keep me dry and confortable all day.

My wife bought one of these a couple years ago and I loved it. Finally got around to buying my own. It is a little longer than some similar coats which is nice. Only thing mildly annoying is that the zipper catches on the adjacent flaps if you don't hold them out of the way, mainly at the top. Otherwise great lightweight rain jacket.

I just purchased this a few weeks ago and have used it several times. The jacket is heavier than I expected, although still very comfortable. It is my second Columnbia rain jacket and was a good price.

Hello all, the weather in Boston has been pretty crazy this spring and summer, nothing but rain and clouds. This was the reason I was looking for a rain jacket and came across the columbia thunderstorm jacket. When I received this it looked great, but the only problem was that it did not fit. I am usually able to fit into smalls, but this version was very large and looked like a medium or large. The features in the jacket looked great, but just did not fit. So the comment is that this jacket runs large.

Great coat. Lightweight and breathable allows you to wear the jacket in warmer weather without roasting. Only bad thing is not enough pockets for gear.
