nice warm pants
October 13, 2012
These pants are warm. I live in Boston and dread the winter. I am always cold so I ordered these to wear at work. They look nice and keep me comfy. They are a bit tight but I decided to keep them anyway ( I am 5'4 and 110lbs. The size 2 is tight on me). The material feels great.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Cons: run small
tech that does not work
November 13, 2012
Tech: The Omni heat the manufacturer boasts about, is a complete hype. This pant does not block even the slightest breeze, nor is it warm. If you work in a cold office, they might be warm, still I wonder. Fit: I ordered a size larger based upon previous reviews, however, I found the pant to be huge. The rear of the pant is unbecoming, as it has no pockets, and it has a bunch of extra material right where the bottom curves in. Your backside could not look bigger. The legs are cut extremely wide, sort of like a wide leg pant with huge bells on the bottom. The only positive thing I can say about the pant is it stretches. I put them over a pair of jeans to walk to the corner store, to check for warmth, and wind blockage. It did neither. I than put them on in the house to lounge in, and they streched right back into shape. While these are well made, and comfortable, they do not offer the omni heat, nor any heat, or wind proofing, while the design of the pant is completely unflattering. I kept them because I use them to work outside in (over a pair of ice breaker base layers) as I don't care if they get ruined.Cons: Bad design, to large, not warm, no wide protection
Careful on fit. Even a size up is super snug
January 11, 2012
I am hippy- so this straight cut fit too tightly even a size up. I'm usually a 6 and the posts indicated to go up a size. The 8 was very very snug. Lifted my butt nicely- but not the comfort I'm looking for when active.Pros: Great design, Great value
My favorite winter pants
January 26, 2013
I own three pairs of these pants. They do run small, I would normally buy a size 10 and bought these in a size 12. I have a rather slim build so they fit very nicely, plenty of room for movement. I originally bought them for snowshoeing. They are great for shedding snow . In the winter I wear tights underneath for more warmth. I don't think the fancy omni-therm fabric makes much difference- i do like the fit-higher in the back and the front is not so low to be obscene. I like the cut of the bottom of the pant, not a big flare (like another brand I bought) more like a boot cut. They fit fine in my rather snug fitting gaiters. I like them so much and have gotten so many compliments on them, I wear them to work and out on the town. One thing I don't do is put them in the dryer when I wash them. I hang them to dry as to not cause the fabric to pill. If Columbia made them in another color, Id buy them too. Oh, the length- I have a 33" inseam and these are PERFECT instead being too short as many "regular" lengths are. 5'9/150 lbs for reference............Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: made in indonesia
great quality no-frill pants, but....
November 03, 2011
Beware, the sizing measurements are correct but pants are definitely form-fitting. Similar to the Gusto Guide pants with added insulation. Stylish and not bulky, can't wait to test them in cold temperatures.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, sleek, Cons: very slim fitting
