Great Travel Shirt
May 03, 2012
I bought this shirt in the Fossil color for a trip I took to Africa. The color was necessary to blend into the environment. The shirt was comfortable enough for layering, as the mornings can be cool and the afternoons get warm. I got a large, just for this purpose and it is roomy without being HUGE. It has a breathable, lightweight feel to it, but also has some warmth. It has nice roll up sleeves which adds to it's versatility and the pockets are great for camera accessories or whatever small items you wish to carry with you. Definitely recommend
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceLove Columbia's classic fishing/trekking shirts

This is NOT JUST a fishing shirt. My husband and I are world cruisers and are beginning the 7th year of our circumnavigation. The environment is rough on ship, crew and clothing, so we buy Columbia sportswear because we have learned that it performs well for years (and keeps us looking good in the process). While Columbia brand sportswear can be found in many countries, the selections are often slim so we have placed several orders in the past year with Altrec and had them shipped to wherever we are in the world. We order with confidence knowing the quality, fit and performance will be right! In the hot steamy tropics, my husband and I love the Bahama long sleeve shirt (and our other similar Columbia fishing/trekking shirts) because they offer UV protection, have vented back panels and sleeve tabs that enable the sleeves to be secured in a rolled up position ... AND they are made with high-tech breathable fabrics that are lightweight, comfortable, quick drying, don't wrinkle and are easy to launder. Since we are (amateur) photographers, we love the generous pockets of the Bahama shirts. While Columbia offers a rainbow of great colors we ordered the Bahama shirts (Women's for me & Men's for my husband) in Fossil because we are planning wildlife photo outings and safaris, and want to be inconspicuous in those environments. This shirt (Women's) is a bit blousy, ensuring comfort of movement and ease of layering (I often wear a bra-top T underneath my Columbia shirts). I have a variety of Columbia shirts in different cuts and styling, all are Medium - I am 5'7" and 125 lbs. and average build, and all fit well. The versatility of this and my other Columbia fishing/trekking shirts enables me to wear them with shorts, capris, long pants AND skirts so I need fewer clothes onboard and it simplies packing when land traveling. These shirts have great "active-wear" features, but look as good in the city as they do out in the natural environment!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueMomma's happy!

I bought this shirt for my wife, she is very happy with it. She likes the way it fits and especially how much sun protection she'll get from it. She has some of the Freezer Columbia T-Shirts, but this one allows her to easily take off while wearing a hat and sunglasses.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great valuegreat shirt

Usually wear a medium but bought a large so I could layer. Arm length is perfect. I have good room over long sleeve t-shirt. I can ware the shirt alone and it still looks fine. I am 5' 7" and weigh 145 (small busted). Shirt tail is long but not too long; looks good worn in or out. Material is light weight and very comfortable.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityBest one so far

Was looking for a long sleeve shirt to wear in hot weather to protect me from mosquitoes and sun while hiking with dogs in woods and fields in the northeast. This shirt is the best I've tried so far. When it gets into the 80s, I do have to roll up the sleeves and unbutton some buttons. Also notice that I feel less heated when moving and perspiring in this shirt than when I'm standing around in it under the same conditions. I don't know whether any long sleeve shirt can cut it in really high temps--still looking for that shirt. But for now this is my favorite summer hiking shirt--in fact I recently purchased a second one. It is a little soon to comment on durability but the quality is very good and I like the way it looks.
Great for travel

I bought this shirt because I'm traveling in the fall. I bought a size larger than normal and it is pretty big so I would order true to size, even if you're looking for a little extra room. I was worried it might be see-through (I ordered the white) but it isn't. Very comfortable, doesn't wrinkle too bad, and will be perfect for wearing daily when traveling.
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of usegreat work shirt

I'm a landscaper in the San Francisco area where the summers can get pretty hot, this shirt not only protects me from the sun, it looks more professional than a t-shirt. The shirts with the sun protecting collars never seem to look right...I suppose they need to be ironed, this shirt looks great right out of the dryer
Pros: Great design, Build qualityAnother fantastic shirt from Columbia

We own a fly fishing shop in the UK and wear Columbia all year round. Its light, comfortable and washes easily. When we fish abroad again all the shirts go with us - easy to wash, dry and back on for the next day out on the water. Brilliant.
