Jacket with a flaw
July 01, 2011

I really wanted to love this jacket but, as others have noted, the armpits felt too small. I tried two sizes but I think what happens is the pit zips fold and bunch under the arms making the fit feel too small. Even with a bigger size I had to mess too much with the underarm area to get the jacket to feel comfortable. For that kind of money, I don't want to mess with anything. Sadly sent it back and bought a Mountain Hard Wear down jacket instead.

Wanted to love the jacket. Would have been very warm, BUT jacket was super tight in the arms and armpits! Could not comfortably wear the jacket with anything but a shirt without unzipping pit zips:(

far from the best
December 01, 2012

Is this a good jacket? Yes. Is this the best down jacket out there? NO WAY. My wife wanted a winter jacket that would be good on its own and would not require additional layers underneath. This is not that jacket. This jacket would be good for active sports or for temperatures above 30. My wife did like the look and fit of the jacket. I don't understand why it is so hard for companies to produce a winter jacket with a good amount of insulation throughout, including the arms. This down jacket is better than most columbias you find in stores but by no means is this jacket "the best." We have already purchased another jacket by mountain hardwear. It is rated at the same down fill but feels much more significant in terms of insulation and warmth.

Pros: Great design, Cons: Cost, Low performance

Amazing coat. Within minutes of putting in on I felt the Omni-heat warming it up. I was skeptical on whether or not it would actually work, but it does. I have a North Face Summit Series coat that I love but this is much less bulky and warmer. It stops the wind and chill from getting in. The coat looks great too. I was worried it wouldn't look nice enough and be too "technichal" looking but it's a great coat and stylish. Great purchase!

Hands Down for The Best Dam
January 19, 2011

I bought this jacket as a birthday gift to myself. I believe it is the best birthday gift I've ever purchased. This jacket stood up to the frigid air of Vermont, a tumble out of a sled on Monday(the snow brushed off without a problem), and icy rain in Brooklyn on Tuesday. It is terribly warm and extremely lightweight. I wasn't sure if I would like the thumbholes, but they are fantastic at keeping the air from traveling up the sleeves. The Omni-Heat does it's job and keeps my body very warm. This jacket is a "must have" for your winter closet.

Great Jacket

Looks great and feels great. I haven't worn it in the cold weather yet, but it feels warm when I put it on. The size is accurate. I like the thumb holes and the cinch at the bottom.

Great down solution
December 30, 2010

I bought this for my wife fir Christmas. Wanted to use as a ski coat. Very warm but also runs quite small. Very form fitting. The dealbreaker for her was that it has no spray skirt. Other than that it would be great!

Beautiful Jacket But...
March 23, 2011

I loved the jacket BUT the zipper under the arms diggs in to the armpit. I tried a bigger size but it really didn't help that much. I was very sorry this jacket did not work for me because it was great otherwise.

SUPER warm but the medium was a too big for me

The coat is a furnace as soon as you put it on. It is thin though so there is no need to order on the bigger size.

Love the Jacket
April 20, 2011

I got this jacket for Christmas and I absolutely love it. I am always cold when we downhill ski and with this coat I am not cold at all. It is very comfortable, fits well, and seems to be true to size. If you are always cold - get this coat you will not be cold anymore.

Just what she needed
December 25, 2012

I bought this for my wife's birthday and she loves it. She is very thin and does not have much body fat to help keep her warm. with this jacket she can go out in the cold and feel warm without looking like an Eskimo wrapped in a bear skin. it fit her like a charm, most jackets fit her big due to her large frame but thin structure, but this fits her perfectly.

It's "The Bomb!"
November 16, 2010

I was looking for a really warm jacket for our extreme winters here, and this is definitely just what I was looking for. The fit is great, it's epically warm, and looks great too. What more could you ask for?

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, super warm!

I bought this coat for cold, winter, carline duty. It is perfectly warm, wind and water proof. I am a huge "coldie" and hate cold winter's. I usually wear a 8-10, but ordered large so I could layer. It fits great!
