For keeping the pace on the steep and deep, this versatile Omni-Heat® parka combines killer performance with coolly lethal style. Featuring the full benefits of Omni-Tech® waterproof-breathability, the shell’s variegated rainbow stripe fabric is attention grabbing in a subtle, wearable way. A unique collar gusset zips open to extend the neckline, so you can bury your face in its plush high pile interior on long cold lift rides. Flattering seaming lines and a cute collar flap add to this jacket’s understated style.
The 3-point Interchange liner packs serious lightweight heat thanks to Omni-Heat thermal insulation, which provides the highest warmth retention in the industry, and the Omni-Heat thermal reflective lining, which reflects and retains your body heat while still promoting breathability. A variegated front zipper subtly evokes the outer shell’s rainbow detailing, and diagonal baffling lends a slimming effect to this standalone liner. A pass holder on the shell sleeve provides handy access, while waterproof pocket zips keep your essentials dry and secure. A snap-back powder skirt can connect to your pants for ultimate warmth and security. Adjustable cuffs and underarm venting zips provide easy customization.

Almost warm enough!

Got this jacket and immediately tried it on and it seemed different from other jackets I had. I could feel the heat right away. But then the ultimate test came when I wore it this morning for my long walk in single digit temps and a pretty good wind chill. I bought the small and could not wear a fleece underneath it. However I had a thermal shirt on as well as a cotton turtleneck and a sweatshirt and I still felt cold in the shoulder area. Also the handwarmers hurt my thumbs a bit as I had mittens on. I wish I had ordered the medium so I could have worn my fleece underneath. If the winters where you live are as brutal as new enland then order a size larger for extra layers. Otherwise a pretty good jacket and the blue is very attractive as well. Am also buying a Columbia down jacket for the coldest days.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, atractive jacket

I think I made a great choice when I purchased this jacket! I was worried that I'd have to send it back because it wouldn't fit right, but I bought a medium and it fits perfectly (I am 5'8" 143lbs). It keeps me warm in sub-zero temps. I love the little zipper in the neck on the outer shell that opens to give you more space. I also love the thumb holes in the inner section, that is a very nice feature. I have to be a little careful when I put on my gloves, though, the fabric between my thumb and forefinger can tend to become a little uncomfortable if wearing tighter fitting gloves. I wish the jacket was maybe a little longer to cover more in the back when I sit, but it's not a big problem for me. I use this jacket for surviving cold days in Alaska, I don't do much skiing, but If I did, I think it would be perfect. I bought the black one, I love the colorful pinstripes. Very stylish! I really love it!Pros: Great design, Performance
Good Rocky Mtn jacket
March 08, 2011
I live in the high desert/Rocky Mtn part of the country with winter temps from -15F to 50F. I was looking for a good everyday, all purpose winter jacket that performs well and looks good. The Black Diamond Dash Parka is from Columbia's Titanium line of performance wear which seems to be a cut above some of their other lines. I did like the cut of the parka so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm 5'7" 140lbs, I got the parka in a large black and was pleasantly surprised by the subtle pattern of rainbow colored stripes that run vertically through the fabric; very well done. It seems very well sewn and I noticed no poor quality in the stitching. The fit flatters your figure with adequate room in the chest without being baggy. I think it looks cute but it doesn't compromise performance in any way. I've worn this while skiing at Wolf Creek and Crested Butte and leave the liner in during the early morning lift rides when temps are at or below zero. This parka is very heat efficient and if you want to be warm it will warm you without that clammy feeling. Later, if it warms up, I stow the liner and ride with only thermal wear and the parka shell. I've never had to do more than unzip the pits to regulate body temp and it does a good job of blocking wind. The Omni-Tech fabric seems to breathe well and shed snow easily. The fabric never saturates or gets heavy but I've yet to test it in rain. The parka shell has sealed zippers so there are no flaps to blow about or fumble with. One of the best things about the parka is the liner. I walk to work several days a week, year round. Often I wear the liner when it's above 30F in the AM. The heat reflective liner will take the cold edge off especially if you're moving. On the afternoon walk home I can open the liner pit zips if needed. The liner also provides wind resistant. Overall this is a great all-purpose jacket with some nice features. It has become my winter go-to jacket for all my activities from skiing to around town. So far it has held up well and shows no wear and tear despite being worn nearly every day. I'd say for the styling and performance this is a great value.Pros: Great design, Performance, Great value
Warm and Stylish

I recently bought this jacket and I really like it. It doesn't look like it in the picture, but it has colored string woven throughout it, so it has more color than just the black and the pink under jacket.Pros: Great design
