Love these pants
December 17, 2012
I tried these pants after failing to find the titanium convertible pants by Columbia that I liked so much. I love these more! I ordered two more pair in different colors. They fit great but I am a long and slender athletic woman so maybe they won't be perfect for every athletic build . The fabric is smooth and the fit is very flattering. They come in long which is a necessity for me.
Excellent Product NAME "Saturday" ....
June 04, 2012
If You ARE looking for hiking pants that ease into the CASUAL social scene, then you could call these true "Saturday" pants. The material is smooth, sleek and doesn't have the rough, more wrinkly texture of many hiking pants. Personally, I primarily use them for HIKING. I did just purchase these recently, so I can't yet comment how they will hold up in the long term, but the material is a mid weight and appears durable. I hiked up about 3,500 vertical feet & 14 miles yesterday on and off rocks and no snags in the material. I've had my last pair of Columbia convertible pants for 6 years and they are still in excellent condition! I've changed my body weight and that's the only reason I am purchasing a new pair (plus it's fun to update to new style.. probably a much better technical product). Fashion wise, because they do have a softer smoother stretchy material, they have LESS of a "rustic" appearance, so if you're looking for that, DON'T get these. If the look DOES appeal to you, or function/comfort is more important, these allow freedom of movement on the rocks and the ability to enjoy sitting down by the campfire without the material pulling at your crotch. They have an extreme amount of stretch. I recently bought the Columbia Silver Ridge convertible pants which I love for the extreme light weight material to tuck into my backpack as a emergency pair as well as wear in the summer, but those do not stretch AT all and are so light weight that they aren't warm like these, so you'd have to wear thermals pretty quickly if the temp dips. These are I believe more versatile. But I will use both for sure. Fit wise I would say very true to size. They come in DIFFERENT lengths which was great & a major factor in why I ordered these. I am 5' 9" about 130 lbs and ordered a size 8 "long". They fit perfect. I am slender on the hips and a bit wider on the waist and they fit me without puffing out on the hips. On the other hand, like I keep saying there is so much stretch that if you did have a more curvy shape, I think they work out well also.Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, comfort, Cons: small zipper pocket hard to reach into.
Selection for Larger sizing
January 03, 2013
Large sizing has very few selections. and although smaller sizes are on sale the larger sizes are not. I would like to see more to choose from, currently I only 2 choices in travel pants. I liked what I was able to buy, just want more to choose from and be part of the sale options.Pros: Great design, choices
Columbia I want you BACK!
September 17, 2012
I have bought and worn Columbia clothing for years. Love this stuff. They have changed their cut in recent years or year. Their pants no longer fit me. I have thighs! I am not heavy, but I ride a bike and I swim and I have muscle. I can't wear clothes made for stick figures. Has anyone else out there noticed this? They are stretch pants, but they don't stretch around the zipper. Columbia markets their clothing to active outdoor people. I think they are missing the mark. I still would recommend their products if you can squeeze into them.Cons: Bad design
Black, Fossil, Gravel, Grill and Peatmoss.
