3.6 out of 5

As others have said these run a bit small. I had to order a size larger than usual. I wish there was a little bit more stretch in the waist, but overall they seem to be light weight but durable, perfect for hiking.Pros: Great value
Great pants for summer hiking
May 02, 2012
I brought these pants for an upcoming hiking trip to several of Utah's National Parks. I have worn them on several wooded trails where I live and so far they have met my expectations. The material is cooling, quick drying, and durable. I appreciate the zip up legs - making it easy to convert to shorts without taking off your shoes. The fit is small - I ordered one size up and they fit perfectly. I usually wear a size 2 in women's pants. I ordered the 4 Short based on previous reviews and the fit was spot on. I am 5'4, 113lbs.Pros: Great design, Great value
2 Sizes too Small
July 11, 2013
I love the ripstop nylon material, it's so durable and light which seemed great for everyday wear as well as a good hike. After reading a few reviews that these pants run a little small I got a size larger than I normally would which was a size 10 (usually I wear an 8), but even the 10 was a little tight around my thighs especially when I'm sitting down. I'm 5' 7" 145lbs and the 10 is still not ideal, so 12 may have been better but the waist would've probably been loose. I've purchased a North Face size 10 convertible pants instead and there's a lot more room to move in those and are much more comfortable. I think the Columbia's are more for the petite thighs and I guess I don't fit that build.Cons: Bad design

Loved the Fit
May 22, 2012
The pants have a nice long but not too long short length, are very lightweight, quick drying, and non-chafing. I like the narrow legs so they will not billow in the wind or catch on bushes. I usually wear a 6 and am 5'2". A size 8 short fit perfectly. Runs small.Pros: Great design, Cons: pocket a little small, runs size too small
Great Customer Service
March 13, 2012
Size runs little small. I ordered a 2 short and length was good; but too short in crotch and too tight on waist. I usually wear a 2 average to wear higher heels with ( I am just 5 feet tall) but length for hiking shoes was good here. Length works ok with a better fit in the waist and slightly longer crotch length in my reorder size of 4S. I am bringing these pants to South Africa to use on safari. The light weight and UV protection seem ideal and were considerations in purchasing; as well as the give (or stretch) in the material. I received my orders in just a few days, customer service was very helpful in telling me how to return my first order, and when to expect my refund. It came in about 5 business days. I do believe I am going to like these pants.
size is smaller then regular
March 22, 2012
This pants size is smaller then regualr, may have to order a size biger then usual. The length of short is good for 5'2'' like me, but the material can not be streachable as I expected.Pros: Great design

I was disappointed with these pants. The material felt very thin. The snaps were flimsy and the sizing was akward. I have ordered other pants in the same catagory and price range and found them far more substantial. I returned them.Pros: Great value, Cons: Bad design
