Great pack, I use it for all my day backcountry snowboarding trips. Perfect size to hold my avy gear, food, layers, etc. Even though it has a good capacity, it can be cinched down and isn't too cumbersome when you have a smaller load. Would recommend it!

Excellent Backcountry Pack
March 18, 2013

The blade snow pack is solid. From the backcountry to day hikes, this pack has served me well. The pack features a durable design with functionality that matters to me. The bag is lightweight, strong and holds a lot of gear without being bulky or cumbersome. The specialty pockets for snow shovel, probe, water bladder, etc are perfect, and the vertical and horizontal board carry system fits my needs. The pack is very supportive and stylish as well. I would definitely recommend this pack to any rider looking for a dependable pack for the backcountry.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Great pack worth every penny
April 06, 2011

This pack is incredible. The compartment in the back is wonderful easily accessing books or clothing. The stuff pocket is great trowing my DSLR in with a sweatshirt to keep it protected. All the pockets are very useful and well placed. I would have liked to see a little better organizer in the front most pocket, and the pack is a little heavy, but it definitely pulls it's own weight. Construction seems good, and I think it will wear well. Carrying a longboard or snowboard or skis is a piece of cake. Absolutely fantastic pack at a great price. I bring it everywhere with me.

DaKine Blade Backpack
December 02, 2010

Great backpack & just the right size! I use it for back country ski touring and dessert camping. During the last year I have used this pack climbing over 300,000 verticale feet skiing three days a week in the Wasatch and camping numerous weekends in Southern Utah. It is a good all around carrying tool. I love the pocket on the belt and in the upper flap. I wish it had a third pocked under the upper flap and two more pockets inside the rear entry. I would also like to see a second water bottle pocket to balance the load. All in all a great backpack.

Pros: Lasts forever, Performance

EPIC
February 26, 2009

Rode this season with my Dakine Blade Pack. I love this pack because it has great storage management for all my day goods (shovel, probe, rope, first aid, TP, hand warmers..ect.. & goodies. Hydration system works well, I use a 3L camel back inside with termal tube. Size is wonderful for good overnight trips however compression straps allow for use on lifts. Only complaint i have is the pouch on the hip belt Ripped from tree branches hitting it, still useable though only ripped first layer.

Great Backpack
November 11, 2010

I was looking for a larger backpack for skiing and biking and this pack was perfect. I already have a DaKine Heli Pro pack so I knew it would be high quality. When empty this pack is very light and can be compressed to be very small. When expanded it can fit a lot of gear. I used it for a carry on for my last trip and it worked perfectly. The fit is very comfortable when loaded down and things can be accessed very easily with several separate compartments. I look forward to using this pack on the mountain.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value
