Great Gore-Tex Spring Glove
April 04, 2011
When it comes to spring gloves, it seems to be nearly impossible to find a low profile, non-insulated (or very thinly insulated) pair of gloves that has Gore-Tex as well. Fortunately, Dakine doesn't disappoint with the Impreza. I used Dakine Stingrays for spring riding in past seasons, and I loved those gloves, but the leather absorbs water like a sponge. Even though the Gore-Tex of the Stingrays wouldn't let that water get through to your hands, it's an annoyance to ride with wet and heavy gloves, especially on those bluebird days. The Impreza is super low profile, has only extremely lightweight insulation, and delivers with the Gore-Tex membrane. My only complaints are that because the Imprezas are so thin, grabbing your edges can sometimes hurt your hands. Also, synthetic materials just don't provide the same dexterity and "lock-in" effect for grabbing your board or skis as leather does.
