From School to Snowboarding
Even though this backpack was advertised for use of skate or snowboarding, I bought it to use for college. I was first attracted to the backpack because of the colors--blue and yellow--because the backpacks on this site seem to have a unique color scheme not seen with other backpack companies. I love the chest and weight belt because it seems to give it more sturdiness and take some of the weight off of my back and shoulders. The only downside I would say is that there is not as much room inside as I was hoping for. Since I'm using it for school, I need room enough to carry books and binders. Most of my stuff can fit though. The best part is the fleece sunglasses pouch because I wear sunglasses all the time and I hated when they got scratched in my old (non fleece) backpack :)

Lots of pockets, good padding
This is a great backpack for every day use and travel. There are tons of pockets on it. There is decent padding for your netbook (a larger laptop won't fit in) and a good amount of compartments for pens and other things. The amount of straps on it can get a little obnoxious if you don't intend to use them. When you "strap in" this backpack feels very secure and sturdy. I like the depth of the backpack as it is more compact and stylish unlike some deep puffy backpacks. For capacity reference, I fit 8 loose red bulls, 2 cans of soda and a 6 pack of sam adams bottles and the main compartment was full but not over-stuffed. The fleece lined compartments are a nice touch. The backpack advertises that you can strap your snowboard to it, but I don't think I'd use it for that purpose ever.

i love this backpack!!
i got this backpack to carry my laptop, books, and extra stuff to school. I can even fit my dslr in this bag. love the brackets in the front of the bag. i use it to carry my tripod and jacket. Looks way better than it does in the pictures. i got the black one and was hoping the grey accents would not be too light. they are darker grey and look amazing. I'm glad i got this backpack.

This backpack is great!
This backpack is great! I bought it as a birthday gift for my boyfriend and he totally loves it. We got the gray denim looking one with the maroon trim and zippers. He's 6'4" and it seems to fit perfectly. He really likes the buckles on the shoulder straps and the hip strap for big hikes and mountain biking. There are perfect spots for his glasses and laptop and so much more. The only minor negative is that the fuzz lined pockets could have smoother, more finished seems inside. From my experience, you can't go wrong with DaKine gear.

Great Pack
Very well designed pack. This pack Looks and feels durable. It has all the pockets I need for my google, laptop, gadgets and most important of all, my snowboard.

Great Pack
Before buying the backpack, I researched like crazy and found this one was deff. a great backpack. I checked many websites and it was cheapest on here. I use the pack for my snowboarding gear. Fits all my extra gear. Also light enough I can board with it. Deff. reccommend it!

Good buy
Great bag. Decent amount of pockets. Provides good support for the back. Looks good, good quality, the cover material could be a little sturdier but if the zippers hold out,it's a great bag. Shipping was a little slow.

Beautiful backpack, even for a girl!
The style that seemed to fit my taste most was the Herringbone. Upon receiving it I realized it was even more beautiful than in the pictures; completely living up to my expectations. It looks great and despite my book load, feels weightless. It's extremely comfy yet appears very durable and well made (time will more than likely verify). Best deal I could find too (free shipping IS key). Has plenty of pockets to keep all your stuff neatly organized and saves so much time when you need to grab something specific out of it. Will make for a nice backpack to bring as a carry-on in future travels. No more fumbling around in one giant mess of a bag. I LOVE this backpack!

good backpack, but not big enough
This mission backpack is a good buy for the steezer who uses it for just a laptop and a shredstick. To the full time college student that has 4-5 subjects to carry around, plus a laptop, its not enough room. This would be the perfect bag if it had more bulk

my org review, and my month later review
ORG REVIEW 1/10/09 Just got it today! I just got my Dakine Mission Laptop Backpack (Black/scottish plaid). I just want to say WOW. This bag is better than I was expecting. This bag has enough space/pockets for everything your average joe would need in his daily adventures, and then some. Price was cheaper than I could find in any store, and plus no one else had this style in stock. I'm very happy with the bag. The straps and cords are VERY long, so it fits all sizes of people. But there is a downside to the style that I ordered. The inside of the bag is white, and I just forsee it getting dirty in daily use. At least it would be more visable, than any other color. Again Love the bag and had a good first time exp w/Altrec.com... Would/will by from these guy again! My Month Later REVIEW 2/26/09 I have had the Dakine Mission Laptop Bag for a little of a month at this point and I wanted to review it again now that i have had the chance of using it. I have used it on a daily on my scrolling the streets of PHX AZ. Used the backpack to carry all of my gear. Laptop plus accessaries, 2-3 books (no huge textbooks) and my mail and lose papers. About 20 - 25lbs on any given day, and you couldn't even tell, cause the bag fits your back so nicely. Thou, i don't skateboard, the SB clasp make for a great way to hold a jacket. I have not had an issue with the size of this bag. Its always had enough room. All and all it has been a great bag and I am pleased with it. BUT... (there always a but, huh?) About the 32nd day of owning the bag, i noticed that the claps or the chest strap had come unthreaded and was about to break. Now I am aware of the quality that the Dakine name carries. So I was sure that this had to be a defect of the item. Now, since this was my first time dealing with/being a customer of Altrec, I was expecting them to be like any of company and try to fight me at every step about returning a defective item. I can say, with my head held high, that i was WRONG. Not only did Altrec, apologize for the problem, and said "this is no problem sir, of course you can return the item". They even sent me a return postage paper work for me to use to return the item at no extra cost to me. Heres is the REAL kicker.. (I wish i remembered the name of the male i was talking to, but don't sorry) The Altrec C/S rep, asked me what i wanted to do with it. Return or Exchange the item. I asked for an exchange on the bag cause that the one I wanted. Well after a min or so. I was told that I org got one of the last Mission bags in that style (blk/scot plaid) and that they only had the black style in stock. Well to say the lest, I was bummed. I told them that i would just go for a refund and take my business else where. But the wonderful c/s rep, suggested this why don't i take a couple of days and look for a different bag and that exchange on a different make and model of bag, and that i would just pay the difference on the price. He also mentioned that they have a great PRICE MATCHING policy. He said that if i found a bag i liked and if i found it cheaper on a different website/with different company, to call them and they would sell me the same item for 5% cheaper. I told the C/S rep that i would do that. I did that, and as of yesterday, i placed a new order for a Dakine Team bag. And because of the C/S rep, i hunted down the lowest price i could find the for the TEAM bag. Because of there great C/S, not only did i get 30$ off of an $80+ bag, but with the refund on my org Mission bag i am only paying an 8 dollar difference on HUGE upgrade to a new bag. I am VERY pleased with Altrec. I will continue to be a HAPPY customers of theirs. With my experience with Altrec, and the mission bag, I do want to point out the things i found wrong with the bag, outside of the defect I had happen to mine. The mission bag has a "Goggle Pocket" on the back side of it. Thou, the idea of a "goggle pocket " is great. the pocket come unzipped all the time for no reason at all, making it possible for you to lose the items that your keep in there. The only other issue i have with the bag is the inside of the style I got. The Blk/Sct Plaid inside i WHITE, and it has started getting dirty.. I have taken a rag wipe it clean so often, but feel that is unnecessary. Bottom line Good Bag, (Mission) Great Company (Dakine) WONDERFUL SELLER/COMPANY (Altrec.com) In the words of Arnold S "I'll be back" as a customer that is!

Just got it today!
