I received my pack within 2 days of ordering it from Altrec. Great company to do business with. I haven't had the opportunity to take the pack out yet but I have test loaded it at home. For 3 lb. 1 oz., the pack holds everything I could want to carry and more. The Aircontact system is highly adjustable and extremely comfortable. The materials all seem highly durable although I won't know for sure until I put it through its paces. Based on what I've seen so far though, I'm very happy with this purchase.

I like everything about this pack. First and foremost, it's the most comfortable pack I've ever had. It's lightweight but handles a one-week summer backpacking load, including bear canister. I've been very happy with how I can snug it down to ride close when I'm on class 2 and 3.
The design is clean and functional, with just the right bells and whistles for my taste. Deuter workmanship and materials are excellent. My wife and I both find this pack more comfortable than our Gregory G and Z models.

Got it for my 11 y.o. and 16 y.o. kids for occasional use. Vari-Quick provides good adjustability for different sized youths. There is no single, perfect pack, but this is a great choice.
Nerrek - 2009-05-31Lightweight pack with extra room
I bought this pack for lightweight backpacking. I think if I were an ultra-lighter, it would be great with even 3 weeks of food. As it is, the pack is very roomy.
I've loaded it with 53 pounds of gear. With that amount of weight the shoulder straps and hipbelt aren't quite substantial enough for me, but the manufacturer lists the top weight at 45 pounds. I've found that it does carry 45 pounds very well. I should mention that I never carry more than 42 pounds on trips so it works wonderfully for me.
PROS:
Lightweight.
Very water resistant, even without a liner or cover.
Roomy (decievingly roomy).
Completely adjustable (except for shoulder width... manufacturer makes a women specific harness with narrower shoulder harness for about $20).
Lots of lash points.
CONS:
Hipbelt that's flush with bottom of pack makes it tricky to get a good fit with a cover.
Smaller length torsos will have to bend the stabilizer at the top of pack to keep it form impeeding your ability to look straight forward, which makes it harder to fit bear canisters above 8 inches in diameter.
Sternum strap buckle doesn't have a built-in whistle like some other packs.
Bottom of pack doesn't have drain holes.
Pack shape tapers inward toward the top which makes the opening smaller. I've found that most bear canisters have to be arranged standing up instead of on their side, which isn't too bad, just a little inconvenient.
Overall a nice pack, especially at this price.
Lanny Myslicki - 2008-08-23all good except for 1 thing
This is my first big pack, and I was easily able to carry everything needed for a weekend in/on it. It's very comfortable, adjusts to fit you nicely, and has lots of space. But its aircontact system is not as nice as on my futura 28, this one hugs my back so much, there's no air at all it seems. Otherwise, I'm really happy.
