Finally, there is a mountain bike pack that offers true multi-sport functionality. The Trans Alpine 25 from Deuter is a mountain bike pack that doubles as a quality daypack for any activity. The zipper-access main compartment is dividable and big enough for the food and extra layers that a full-day ride demands. There is a neoprene helmet holder, a dedicated map pocket and side mesh pockets. Of course, the pack is hydration compatible, and it even includes an integrated, brightly colored rain cover.

A great pack but smaller than expected
July 15, 2011

I checked out these Trans Alpine packs and watched the Deuter videos, and both the 25 and 30 looked gigantic on the backs of the "models," but the 25 seems too small for me: 5'10, 208, XL shirt. The pack is great, but I'm going to get the Trans Alpine 30 in exchange. Altrec is a quality operation.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: smaller than expected

I was looking for a smaller pack just for the day. I"m 5"8, 175lbs and this this pack is small for me. The belt went above my belly. I let my little wife try it on and it fit her perfect. So maybe this is just for girls. She is 5'2 and 105lbs. Will send it back and look for another.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Cons: small
