Great Women's Alpine Pack
January 04, 2011

I had a difficult time finding a women-specific alpine pack to suit my needs. Either they were too small (volume) or lacked the features I needed. (I had to return a "unisex" back that was way too wide for my shoulders) In total, I was only able to find 3 good women's alpine packs available onlinr. I am very happy that I decided on this pack. First off, it looks to be a very duable and well made pack. As soon as I put it on weighted I was amazed by how comfortable it was; the suspension system is great. I am 5'6 and it fits perfectly. The ice axe carrying system is ingenious. The daisy chains on either side of the front of the pack make it easy to attach crampons, snowshoes and/or a helmet. I really like the bottom and side access. The expandable top has also proven to be useful. The rope strap on tope is also useful for carrying a jacket that you may put on and take off frequently I love this pack and have already recommended it to others.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, comfort

THE DEEEEEUUUTTTTEERR!
November 10, 2010

I borrowed an older (5 year old) 35+ guide deuter for 2 months over the summer from a friend and feel in love with the alpine back support system on these bags. I also loved the + option on these bags which makes packing for long trips easy as you pack the bag for its smaller size and just expand the bag at the top as you collect things on your journey. Its a it heavier than newer light weight bags that are so popular but for anyone who has back stiffness or pain the weight is well worth the support the padding offers. I got the 40+ because I am really petite and don't need much room/can carry much but all the deuter packs that have the alpine system ARE FANTASTIC. I traded in an osprey talon 44 for this and don't think I will EVER need to buy another pack.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
