Great great product
May 20, 2012

This is my first ENO hammock. I had been recommended to get one for a long time. I did research and the double is definitely the way to go. I am a typical 6 foot male weighing 210 and I have no worries with my hammock. All you need to get are the ENO slapstraps after you buy this product which is a definite need. I love this ENO and I use it every and anywhere.

Pros: very comfortable, Lasts forever, Cons: Cost, needs additional equipment

Great Hammock
October 17, 2012

I am very impressed with this hammock, it was easy to set up , packs away easily and is very durable and lite. I am 5'11" at 185 and it was very comfortable for me, (I'm not sure how comfortable two persons would be in an overnight situation). Also like the color combos that are offered and am about to purchase another.

Pros: good for backpacking, easy to set up, lite weight, great material, extremely comfortable

The shipping was quick and had no problems with the delivery

This hammock is a great way to take a that "camping" style of miserable back pain away. Easy to store away in hiking gear and is a great buy!

I love my double nest. It is a great size for two and very durable. Super easy to set up with the Slap Strap Pros too. If you are going to be the only person using it, I would recommend the single nest, as it has much less fabric. However, this double nest gives you a nice option to get cozy with someone else :)

Great Buy!
October 29, 2010

A few of my friends bought ENOs from outdoor stores and used them all around campus in the great weather. I was looking at other brands but ENO has the best reviews from other websites. I stumbled across this website and saw the GREAT deal for a double! It is WELL WORTH THE MONEY! I forgot to buy tree straps so i have to wait till those get in, BUT i borrowed my friends straps to test. DON'T FORGET TO GET THE ENO PRO STRAPS!

Great hammock
October 06, 2011

The eno double nest hammock is light weight, easily put up and taken down, durable material and colorful. It is nice to see brighter colors for those of us that do not always like camo colors for camping and hiking.

fantastic product!

I gave this hammmock to my college age son for Christmas and my husband liked it so much I ordered one for him. It's so comfortable and packs up into a very small bundle. What a great product. I just discovered Altrec this year and have been so impressed that I'll get all my outdoor supplies from them. Good job Altrec!

i love this hammock! it is really great and is super comfortable. i would definitely recommend getting a doublenest over a singlenest even if only one person is going to use it, its much more comfortable. Its not the most durable material but it gets the job done. worth the money!

Truly Great Product!
November 09, 2010

This is the 3rd Enos we have purchased - this one for a gift. We bought one a few years ago as I wanted a hammock to take along on our extended 'van camping' trips so I could have something other than a camp chair to relax in. Had to be functional, easy to set up and pack away, light, small(not taking up much space), durable, free of needy upkeep, and provide a relaxing experiences. My spouse thought it seemed to be a pricey extra. WOW were we surprised - this has been one of our best purchases - we couldn't be more satisfied and have thoroughly enjoyed this hammock - use it for sitting, sleeping, reading and relaxing, snoozing and just kicking back. The double size provides enough extra fabric that you can just cover up(free from mosquitos, bugs and maybe even the too bright sun or a few drizzles) and dream away. The little attached side storage pocket is a nice convenience. We ended up getting one for our son - who has now perfected the fine art of using this instead of a sleeping bag on the ground thing - his camping buddies were quite impressed! Only thing one must watch for is if it is cool out - and as I had read in other reviews - your back side can get a bit cold since the fabric is so light. It packs down to such a nice small size - so small we've had to hunt for it once or twice in the van as it gets tucked away so easily! Ours has so far held up far surpassing our expectations and still looks like new. This quality product has our whole hearted recommendation!

No reason not to have one
May 06, 2011

I had friends with these hammocks, and the loved them. When I saw them on sale here, I knew it was my time to buy one. Upon receiving this, my life has been changed! I always have it with me along with slap straps, allowing me to throw it up whenever I want! The doublenest is noticeably wider than the single, which I think makes for a more comfortable experience sitting in it perpendicularly, you have a nice full back rest. It also leaves plenty of extra material to throw around you if you're lying in it and are slightly cool, though it certainly isn't going to keep you warm, its nice to be wrapped up sometimes. With two people, its a little hard to lay comfortably. My girlfriend and I are both 5'10" 150, and we could get comfortable, but it wasn't something Id want to sleep tandem in. Other than that, this thing rocks. Very durable, very comfortable, very cool!

Pros: light, small packing

My first hammock was a knock-off ENO, which sufficed for a while, but there is no comparison to the quality and comfort of a genuine Eagle's Nest Outfitter's hammock. They last, they're durable, they're soft, they're lightweight and compact. Be sure to get some slapstraps to accompany your hammock so you can hang it on virtually anything that will support weight.

comfy for a nap, side sleep all night a little awkward
May 13, 2010

need a pillow for side sleep. Great for stopping for a roadside nap on a motorcycle. sets up quick with slap straps

A neat hammock for two people or one person over 200 lbs.
September 08, 2010

Larger people would like this DN, but mostly, It rocks for two people. It's a quality build, easy to set up, but could use a replacement of the stock carabiners with something climbing-rated and lighter in weight; the stock ENO 'biners can pinch and tear the hammock fabric. Once replaced, the double nest works splendidly.

March 05, 2009

the fact that it costs more than other parachute nylon hammocks is one thing, but having to purchase a hanging kit is completely annoying! I'm not sure what the point of the outer buckle system is either, the hammock is small enough as is...with ENO you are paying for extra bells and whistles that just aren't necessary.

The most comfortable hammock ever!
December 01, 2010

We bought the ENO DoubleNest hammock at an art fair. I ordered the 2nd ENO DoubleNest hammock from Altrec five days later, when my wife and I realized we needed another one to preserve family harmony. All my neighbors have now tried the hammock with the same result. The first thing they say is "I'm never getting up" and "OK, I need to get one of those". My response is "You better get 2.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, comfort, packs small, light weight, great sysytem

Way lighter to carry than a tent!
November 12, 2010

I got the DoubleNest on recommendation from a friend who no longer carries a tent. The DoubleNest is wide enough for two people to "hang out" in and also perfect for one to sleep in. I considered the Single but after trying it, did not think there would be enough comfortable sleep room. Another great part about the DoubleNest is the extra fabric can wrap around you a little to keep off morning dew. But honestly this thing is the greatest, lightest, most dependable thing in my pack and I take it everywhere. When its really hot I hate the sticky feeling and this hammock doesn't give you that because it breathes remarkably well. Takes only a minute to set up and take dow. Now if I can only fashion a rain fly for above it, then I won't ever use my tent again! I'm a muscular 5'5" at 180 lbs and have decently broad shoulders and love the size and width of the double. Find two trees and catch some z's!

Great product for ultralight outfitters
January 09, 2011

I have both of the DoubleNest Hammocks- single and the double. Both of them are great. They are very light, compact and comfortable to sleep in. In summer they can save a lot of weight because you don't have to pack a tent. I prefer the double hammock because I am a big guy, 6'3" and 215lb. The single one is a little tight, especially if you put a sleeping pad, which provides support for your back and is more comfortable. A sleeping pad also gives more insulation from the cold on chilly nights. If you live in an area with a lot of mosquitos/bugs I also recommend getting a mosquito net. I would recommend this product based on my experience with it.

No more tent camping!
November 10, 2010

This is the best thing in my pack! It packs small and lightweight. It is great for relaxation at home, in a park, or anywhere with two posts to hook it up. Setup is easy and it is so comfortable. I've taken it camping twice now and it is great to sleep in. If you are cold-natured, use a sleeping pad under your bag, and it is best if you stretch the hammock tight so you don't migrate toward the center during the night. I can even sleep comfortably on my stomach this way. No more tent. You are dry, off the ground, and pack up is easy. Make sure you buy the dry fly for rainy nights, but on clear nights you can't beat rocking to sleep under a canopy of stars.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, packs light and small

Eno's doublenest hammock is very well designed. The material that is used is of good quality and it was very comfortable. The set up and take down was all under a minute with Eno's slap-straps. ENO Rocks!
April 06, 2010

I own 2 now. I keep one in the car and the other on my motorcycle. Best with the pro straps (No tree damage). These things are not just for camping. I use them at rest areas, parks, scenic overlooks etc. They easily hold 2 adults and the whole thing (including the straps) folds up into a package about the size of a nerf football. Altrec Service is always fast and you can actually talk to a real person (live or online chat) if you have any questions about the gear they sell. Great website!

May 02, 2012

Hey yall, this is my first eno purchase, and I LOVE it! I have only been in the single before and ordered the double based on reviews and recommendations from others. When I first hung it up, it seemed like a bit of excess fabric, but I'm taking it back out again tomorrow to test it again because everyone, evvvveryone, raves about having the double and I think I just wasn't used to it. It's so light, so easy, and great to have as a college student, awesome for studying and passing time in the shade between classes. Also, I really love the color choices! I got the khaki, light blue, and orange one, and I am really happy with it! GoodlucK!! :)

Going camping, you need this
April 22, 2012

I was expecting this hammock to be fun, but it wildly exceeded my expectations. It is superduper comfy and a great addition to your campsite, assuming you would prefer not to sit on the ground with the ants and other creepy-crawlies. I haven't spent the night in it yet, but I plan on giving that a try first chance I get. It seems like it would be a great way to spend a warm night under the stars. The hammock is very roomy. My dog and I fit nicely. I like that the storage sack is connected to the hammock and doubles as a pocket or maybe cup holder. After previewing this product, which was a gift for my husband, I had to go out and get my own.

Great hammock!
May 19, 2011

From the few times I've used the hammock, I've loved it! It easily packs into a small sack (attached to the hammock so you won't lose it). I bought the "rasta" colored Double-Nest hammock, and although it's green base doesn't look very rasta, it is a very attractive parachute-like hammock. The carabiners and fabric both are of high quality material and I expect a long life out of both of them. Based on my research and personal satisfaction with the ropes I purchased, I would recommend pairing this hammock with the "Go Anywhere Rope Kit" by Treklightgear.com. Thank you Altrek for a great purchasing experience!!

May 12, 2009

This was my first hammock. I wanted something that would pack mall and fit into my day pack for hikes with my family. The ENO is large enough to get my wife and daughter in it with me. Not quite big enough to pull a all nighter but comfy for a short nap. So far we love this hammock. Only thing I would recommend is get the slap straps. Makes set up really easy. I also replaced the heavy steel beners with nice BD wire gates.

Could not be easier to setup/stow
March 28, 2011

With the Slap Straps Pro, this very durable hammock sets up in about a minute, and put away in less. It stows in itself (the bag is part of the material), and the bag sits by the side, so it can double as a water bottle holder, or a weight to throw to the other side (to cocoon yourself). Excellent product, have convinced three or four people to buy one for themselves.

February 28, 2011

I bought this hammock for my boyfriend's birthday for him to take to Bonnaroo with him, so he didn't have to sleep on the ground. It was way too hot to sleep in the tent or on a sleeping bag. He LOVED it! The hammock is great! It has easy set up and so small when bundled up. Could not believe a hammock that would fit two people comfortably could be that small when bundled! The material is extremely lightweight and breezy, so you do not get hot in it. I've had many people tell me how much they love their ENO hammocks, and now he loves his!

Day Hammocking
November 20, 2008

I believe,Eagles Nest is the preferred hammock manufacturer of discerning Day Hammockers. Get their Singlenest for $49.95. Its easy to get carried away with excessive gear, day hammockers travel light. The essential day hammocking outfit consists of: sandals, tank top (or shirtless), fanny pack with water, snacks, and a Speedo (its the original banana hammock). The only rule is that you have to leave your backyard. Otherwise youre just napping in a hammock, and thats not the same thing. The Singlenest is great for a light day hammocking excursion, but Ive sensed moved on to the Doublenest. There are few things better in life than a tandem day hammocking experience. But it might not be for the beginner.

Seriously, this thing is the best. I'd suggest the slap straps, as they make it even easier to hook just about anywhere. I've had mine out back on the porch and it's made it easy to lose a few hours lounging in comfort. And it packs down so small, that it easily fits in my pack to provide me with another option for resting/sleeping/hanging out while camping.

The Double Nest Hammock- great for couples!
April 07, 2011

I bought the double nest hammock as a present for my boyfriend and he absolutely loved it! It's a great gift because it's something that you can do together and who doesn't like to snuggle up in the outdoors? I think I might go almost as far as to credit the hammock for our relationship...not really, but THAT is how much we love it!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

High quality product - durable, reliable, comfortable
May 20, 2010

I'm really pleased with this hammock. I did some research and decided to get this brand. I liked the included carabiners, and the compressible stuff sack which is attached to the hammock. I didn't buy the strap kit, but rather two 15' lengths of 1.5" webbing. I use a modified figure-eight and four-wrap knots for setup. This hammock is comfortable, small and lightweight. It only comfortably sleeps two people if you like being cocooned together, but a closed-cell foam pad helps.

Easy to use and pack.
February 07, 2011

This hammock was easy to pack. It was very light weight and compact. It fit two people comfortably. It makes a nice addition for our campsite. The hammock was easy to set up and take down. The stuff pack makes it easy to pack quickly when tearing down the campsite.

Pros: Ease of use, Great value

It's a good hammock

This will be our third double eno. We purchased them for single use, though nice to have the weight limit 400 pounds just incase. Now that we have a baby , it is already time for him to have his own hammock. He is just 2 and couldn't wait to swing from it. The next day he was asking to get in his hammock again. We purchased the orange and grey one since orange is his favorite. The colors are absolutely vibrant. Haven't used them too much to see if the mosquitos are attracted to that or not, it could be a myth that bright colors attract them anyway. Regardless we went for style , though they are totally functional. Weighing less than 3 pounds. Bundles up to fit in your hands. Material breathes and feels like silk . Hang off the backpack, pack in the car , or even off your own wrist and be glad you did bring your eno for any opportunity though we will use mostly for camping and backyard use. Have not washed yet. Wanted purple and aqua years ago but had to get purple and pink, now they have purple and aqua.Husband has yellow and navy because he is in the navy. I sent him his in Iraq but every time he built a hammock stand someone would steal it before he was able to use it . That being said would use Eno anywhere in the world !

I bought this for my teen. She loves it. She takes it hiking and to youth camps. It is easy to put up with the pro straps we purchased. Great product and great service. I am thinking of buying some more for Christmas gifts.

Absolutely love it

This hammock is awesome! It is super easy to set up and use. I love that it is a double and really is a double. Two people can fit in it very comfortably. Also if its just me then I pull the extra material over me and it provides a shield from all the mosquitoes. It packs down super small its super light so throwing it into a pack doesnt really add any extra weight. This hammock is great for a lot of situations whether its hanging out in the backyard, at the lake or at the crag.

My son loves this hammock!!

It was the perfect Xmas gift. It's so portable and easy to set up. He plans to use it when he goes camping, at the lake house, etc... He even plans to take to college to use where ever he can set it up. Great gift idea for anyone.

Excellent quality, great colors, packable & comfy

Received this last night and was quick to get it set up on the back porch. Very good quality and great colors. Even spent last night in it in a sleeping bag and awoke to smiles. Hope to do the same this evening, and on extended trips as it is very light weight and packable. Great first time experience with Altrec, though I do wish they carried the ENO straps too.

A lot of my friends have enos but I kept passing up chances to buy it because of the price but I finally gave in and can't believe I waited this long! This hammock is so comfortable and feels incredibly sturdy. Now I know what all of my friends have been raving about!

3 Years of Boggage
January 10, 2013

I have owned a pair of tall Bogs for three years and they have been my primary winter footwear. First off, these boots are incredibly warm and they excel in wet, slushy, muddy conditions--great for winter and mud season. Compared to other winter boots, they are very easy to put on, thanks to the flexible materials and the handle design. I can tuck just about any pants into the boot since they are stretch, but they are low-profile enough that most pants also fit well when left outside the boot. Because these boots are composed entirely of neoprene and rubber, they are very lacking in the breathability department, which has left me with damp, clammy feet on numerous occasions. Although no moisture gets into these boots, none escapes either! I have found my Bogs somewhat disappointing in terms of durability. Because the outsole is made of a very soft rubber, I have next to no traction left on mine (they worked great the first season I owned them, but not in subsequent winters). While they are great in soft snow, I frequently find myself slipping on packed snow/ice/hardwood floors/linoleum--which has led to several embarrassing spills this winter. I'd hoped these would last a bit longer. Which brings me to my last point: I frequently use these boots with either snowshoes or micro-spikes (essentially mini-crampons), which have left the neoprene uppers of my boots somewhat tattered. Maybe it's just my gait, but the cleats on my snowshoes and my micro-spikes have this habit of snagging on the boot uppers, pulling the fabric off and leaving the rubber exposed. They're not looking too hot these days, and I fear the tears might compromise their water-resistance. I now have to wear gaiters over my boots to prevent further snags--the nylon packcloth of the gaiters holds up much better! Overall, I consider Bogs to be a good purchase but not perfect, due to issues with durability and breathability. If you are the type who suffers from cold feet, these boots are definitely worth a shot: lightweight, comfy winter armor for your feet!

never leave home without it!

I leave my new Eno hammock in the "suby" all the time because I never know when I need to post up for a nap with nature. Try putting a sleeping pad in it for extra support. See you on tour!

looking forward to it

Even though I haven't test driven it yet, I'm excited about the compactness and quality of this hammock. Can't wait to get some lakefront relaxing in!

I absolutely love my new hammock! I have been laying in it every day since I recieved it, and I will most likely lay in it every day that comes! You will want to get the slap straps though, added convenience. It kinda stinks you have to pay extra for them, but totally worth it! Shipping was quick and easy too! <3
