Didn't hold up to a moderately windy beach
July 05, 2009
I bought the tent because I was taking my parents on vacation with my family to the North Carolina shore and felt some shade from the sun would allow my elderly parents to spend a little longer at the beach with my family. The weather was sunny and windy when we arrived on the first day of our vacation. We set up the tent and then went for a walk. The wind was strong enough to be blowing the tent around but I didn't think anything of it because the tent seemed to be holding up fine. We came back an hour later to find that while the buried sand bags and stakes that came with the tent had held the tent in place, the main support pole had been snapped by the wind. I've done a fair amount of camping and don't believe the wind was strong enough to justify this outcome. Our towels and other gear were still in the tent and around it when we came back to the site.
