Ruggedly designed with welded seams and durable dual air valves, the Exped Airmat 7.5 mattress is an affordable air mattress that won't add excess weight to your summer climbing and backpacking packload. This single-chamber design features dual welded valves on the ends of the mattress instead of the corners to minimize wear and damage. The dark, polyester cover resists abrasion and UV penetration and dries quickly when exposed to sunlight. When you're ready to go, the Exped Airmat 7.5 mattress deflates quickly and conveniently into a small 8 x 4 in. package that you can attach to an external daisy chain or slip inside a pouch in your mountaineering or expedition backpack.
It's sweet!
This is a must have. I use this pad all the time- it's light, the valves don't leak a bit, super cheap (compared to others), and WAY comfortable (no more shoulder or hip hot spots to wake you up at 3:00 in the morning). I sleep better on this pad than any other pad I've used before. I've slept in sub zero conditions as well and it was fine- if you're worried about convection (heat transfer) or sketchy ground, pick up some cheap blue high density foam camping pad for about $5 anywhere and strap that sucker on. The Exped Airmat is the best thing going.
Awesome Dont even know your packing it
I carry 2 of these , the exped pillow pump and the coupler. Gives me a nice sized bed for my 6'6" body, specially since I move a lot.
I put this product to the test
I bought this product and brutalized it. I took it on several backpacks including an 10 continuous day extravaganza out west. It worked in the cold, heat, rain and wind. I am like the princess and the pea, I hate sleeping discomfort. I sleep like a baby on this mat. Unfortunately, I found its weak point. There was this really neat talus field in the Shenandoah's with a great view. I created a flat space on a bunch of very sharp pointy rocks and enjoyed a wonderful evening with a great view. It turns out you shouldn't do that with this product. My mat has a bunch of tiny holes too numerous to patch, you probably shouldn't be doing that with any mat. I will be ordering a new Exped for sure though, don't let my stupidity discourage you.

I'm not a rocket scientist, but I did sleep on the Exped Airmat
Packs down small and inflates quickly. Best nights sleep I've had in the outdoors.
very nice
slept well; sleep on my side, so usually have problems with hip pointers during course of night, even with pad. No such experience with this pad. inflated easily and quickly. stayed inflated throughout evening and next day. well worth what I spent.
Very Comfortable
I used mine for the first time this weekend. It's much more comfortable than a typical sleeping pad, & rolls up to a fraction of the size.
Micro Leaks not a problem
The guy on the previous post complained that it developed microleaks after 40 days of continuous use. We should all be so unlucky. This is a kick--ass sleeping pad!
super light and comfy
I tested it out this weekend and my wife and kids want them now. We could cut the weight and bulk of 4 down to that of one normal pad with these. They are difinitely not for winter use but GREAT for the summer. I had no air loss and it appeared to be good quality ripstop. I would recommend it... especially with the lifetime warranty.
Excellent 5 stars
Have just been fly camping for 8 days, nice light & compact airmat to throw in pack. Airmat stayed inflated the whole 8 days, would well recomend, no questions asked.
Narrow but light.
I used this on a backcountry trip to Yosemite and loved how compact this pad is. It's about 1/3 the size of my micro Thermarest. The air channels can feel a bit wobbly, as you're off the ground by 3 inches (compared to one inch with the Thermarest) and don't have any foam to give it structure, but if you get the inflation right, it feels balanced. At 19", it's a bit narrow, but a small price to pay for portability. At $40, it's a good price, too. If you want an extremely light and small pad, this is a great buy.
da bomb
Total comfort for the weight. You can`t go wrong. Get the chair kit too - good design.
Ideal pad for my needs.
For summer camping i don't need an insulated pad. The Airmat 7.5 is light weight, inflates easily, deflates quickly, and takes up minimal space in my pack. I was pleased with the price also.
Highly recommend this pad
I bought this for my very lean wife who gets cold easily and slept poorly from feeling the ground hard on her hips and prominences through self inflatables and non inflateables. She has slept well since getting this pad and is extremely happy. It was a very good buy and would I recommend this pad.

Solid choice!
Narrow & long, it's a good air pad for mummy bags. I have wide shoulders but it fits my frame and feels good. Easy to inflate & deflate, nicely built.
Awesome comfort until it leaks!
My girlfriend and I picked up a pair of these halfway through a cycling tour to the Yukon because we were sick of our old heavier-yet-thinner self inflating pad. They were amazingly comfortable until they both (within a month of each other; within two months of purchase) started developing very slow leaks. We treated them with care and there was no visible damage. The leaks were not detectable by ear or eye. Underwater though, you could see the failure: tiny bubbles developing alond a "threadline" in the fabric. Not on a seam, but on the actual fabric of the pad. Unfortunately this is not patchable because dozens of spots developed. The mats stayed full long enough to fall asleep, but within a couple hours you'd wake up with your hip pressed against the ground, then have to give it 4 or 5 more breaths. Needless to say, the last month or so of the trip was not as pleasant as the first month. We returned both no-questions-asked at a local supplier (direct exchange) but within 2 days, one of the replacements was doing the same thing! I weigh 200lbs so maybe they only had the lightweights in mind when they designed these? Either that or the quality assurance is really poor. Luckily the warranty is good, but that doesnt help much if the leak develops hundreds of miles (by bicycle) away from the nearest dealer. By the sounds of it (talking to the local dealers), this is a standard problem with the airmat but never happens with the downmats....
This is the most comfortable mat I ever slep on until micro leak
Aug 07. Micro leaks started after about 40 days of continous use. Flat in about 4 hours. Developed many leaks on dark side ripstop side. I am on a bicycle trip and despite repeated dunks in sinks and tubs leaks very difficult to find. Finally at kiddies swimming pool under max inflation and pushing hard on mat underwater the little micro leaks showed up. About ten found so far. A smaer of glue fixes but gees. Bought last fall in 2006 for my June 07 bike trip. I really loved it until the leaks started. I hope they improve this otherwise most comfortable mat I ever had. I am on an extended tour so hope my many patches hold but having doubts. Before buying one ask the company if any improvements have been made. This report similar to another bikers experience.
Offered in colors: Black/ Charcoal and Sky Blue/ Charcoal.
