I purchased this Filson vest for three special people for Christmas gifts. I have seen the vest. It is beautifully made and of quality, heavy wool. I got the charcoal color for its versatility. I think this vest could be worn equally well with jeans or with business-casual trousers or cords. I liked the tailored, stand-up collar and nice handwarmer pockets. The zipper works smoothly, lays nicely, and is immensely preferable to buttons. Every one of the guys for whom I bought this vest was thrilled. Be careful of the sizing, however. I found that the vest fits trimly. My 42L guy needed size large rather than medium. The two 38R guys' vests were perfect, nice and fitted.

This is my third Filson garment, and just like the rest it is top notch. This vest can be worn on its own or zipped into one of their jackets for extra warmth, which is what I use it for. I've had other wool garments, but none of them compare to my Filson!!
