Description

If you want a fat ski that still rips the hardpack hop on the G3 Highball All Mountain Ski. The fattest in the G3 line, the Hardball features traditional sandwich construction for a damp smooth ride, while a Titnal deck adds lateral stability and greater edge control. The Variable J sidecut makes for predictable turn initiation yet gives plenty of pop at the end. And G3's SweetRise camber provides ample edge control but allows for easy initiation in the mank. Get one up on Mother Nature on the Highball All Mountain Ski from G3.

fun fat ski
November 08, 2012

so far I've only had one day spring skiing in the back country. Conditions varied from brakable sun crust to 5 - 10cm of wet heavy snow. the ski charges, it ate up all conditions, turns easly hold and edge well (considering its width). stiff enough to charge through variable snow and wide enough to lift out of the bog. While it lighter than some skis, due to its weight and stiffness its probably best suited to side country/ resort skiing rather than full on touring. I had a tendance to get in the back seat this is probably due to full rocker and quite rearward mount position. But I'm probably a bit if a back seat drive though. I think this would be less of a problem in deeper snow. The ski likes a little speed to liven it up if you are looking for a fun slack country ski that will go hard this ski is worth a look. its probably a 5 star ski but I haven't used it enough I'm looking forward to sking it more. I got 180 as this was the only lenght left but at 90kg its stable enough but i would have gone 185 if available

Pros: Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: getting a bit heavy for a backcountry ski
