Fit Tip: This is a high volume shoe that tends to run about a half size large. Customers between sizes will get a truer fit by sizing down.
In summer-like conditions, when temperatures are mild and the snow has melted away, choosing a light hiking shoe makes sense. The popular Garmont Women's Eclipse XCR Hiking Shoe, recipient of an Outside Magazine Gear of the Year award, is an excellent choice. The GORE-TEX® XCR® upper is both breathable and waterproof, the ideal combination for piling up the miles on a wet path. The G3+ Spine midsole provides the underfoot support traditionally reserved for over-the-ankle, all leather hiking boots. While on the other hand Anatomically Directed Design® features and a polyurethane midsole give the Garmont Women's Eclipse XCR Hiking Shoe cushioning and flex that reminds one of a running shoe more than anything else. A rubber toe bumper offers protection and durability for rocky trails, steep ascents, and roots that seem to pop up and grab you from out of nowhere. The Garmont Women's Eclipse XCR Hiking Shoe is also equipped with a Vibram® outsole that not only excels on hard rock, soft mud and everything in between, it also offers both forward and reverse angled treads for improved traction on aggressive climbs and steep descents.
so far so good
i haven't had a chance to take them on any hikes yet, but i've been breaking them in around the office and in the snow. so far they are incredibly comfortable, and have an excellent grip on the snow and ice. can't wait to try them on the trail!
These run big!!
I'm so happy I did my research and learned that these shoes run big. (At least a half size if not a full size). I ordered smaller than my normal size and they are still almost too big. Besides that they are very comfortable and cute - have gotten many compliments. "Grey/Sweet Pea" may not sound like the prettiest color combination but they're great! Also noticed this weekend that they have great traction
run big
The shoes run big, even with a thick pair of socks. I would order at least 1/2 a size down. Mine are being exchanged for a smaller size.
