Refined with sleeker styling and no less than 14 cooling vents, the G10™ Helmet is on track to unseat the Nine.9 as king of the mountain. Giro keeps the helmet light with a special in-mold construction that fuses a rugged polycarbonate outer shell with the impact-absorbing EPS liner. This innovative fusion also gives Giro a better medium for sculpting enhanced ventilation. Unlike the Nine.9 with weather strip vent plugs, the G10™ has an adjustable Thermostat™ control that you can modify without removing the helmet. The skate-oriented styling is killer for the park or halfpipe, but that shouldn't make freeriders feel like they are out of the picture. Giro kept the G10™ light with an in-mold construction that reduces the weight around the EPS liner without compromising the ASTM F2040 certification.

I have Scott goggles, and it fits around the helmet perfectly. That was one of my concerns when getting a helmet. Other than that, this helmet is nothing fancy except the vents to keep your dome cool. I'm 5'5 135 lbs. The XS was a good fit.

Got this helmet for my wife, and she loves it. We got it when it was the Deal of the day. Got the stereo ear pad's that REI was clearing out for $7, and we're talking a awesome combo for less that $50.
Fit and finish are great. It's got the lever on top to adjust the airflow. As others have stated before, it is the 06 model and the only difference is the adjustable headband (not included on this one.) In any case, the helmet fits her fine. It's for the strap in the back to hold her goggles in place... The only problem is there is a small gap in between her helmet and goggles. It's probably more of a result of the goggles she was using. The Oakley Stockholm's have a tiny gap in the center vs the Spy Comet's which had a larger gap.

After 30+ years of skiing I realized that I have been flirting with disaster not wearing a brain bucket. I looked at and tried out a bunch and found that the G10 was lightweight, comfortable, cool on the warm days and warm on the not so warm days and provided me with the protection needed.

I just bought this helmet and used it for the first time 2 weeks ago. By far, the most comfortable helmet of all the one's I tried (and I tried on a bunch). Perfect fit, good looks. Haven't tried, or needed to, yet - but the fact that the earpads are removable is a nice extra benefit.

I ski professionally as a mountain guide, and LOVE this helmet. Giro has made great improvements in fit with the new adjusting system. I love the quick vent openings, so I don't get overheated. Great visibility, and good fit with goggles which stay secure. I like the fact that this helmet fits a bit lower profile than the Fuse, which I had previously. I don't feel like I look so much like a "bobble head."
I went with the more feminine look of the women's model, with just a little pink, and a nice pinkish, pearly sheen. I liked the flat white, too, which may be more versatile. But, I have to admit, it's nice to look like a girl when you're skiing with all the guys.

I just used this helmet in below zero temperatures and the helmet performed great. I like the quick ability to open the vents. In buying the helmet I was misled that it was a new model with the adjustable headband, which I would have prefered. Be careful of the sizing as it has changed with the newer models.

A friend loaned me this helmet last season, since I'd never worn a helmet and wasn't sure what kind to get. It fit perfectly and I loved how warm I stayed, while having great ventilation at the same time!
So this season I ordered one for myself from Altrec and I ride so much better now, with the security of knowing I'm safe from whacking my head, thanks to this helmet! I also love that I can add the earpieces into the helmet, which is great for my mobile phone which also doubles as an mp3 player. So I can listen to music and take important calls, while on the slopes!

I tried on several helmets and this one was by far the most comfortable. I personally don't care about the extra features but the helmet is feature rich with it's easy switch ventilation and it's audio compatability. I bought the Giro helmet in Matte Pewter color. I think the color is a very neutral color - feminine enough for a girl and masculine enough for a guy. My only complaint is that the strap doesn't tighten quite as much as I would like, but I can tighten it a little further by extending the material that the strap is attached to a little past the clip. Normally, it takes me forever to decide on the perfect product, but this purchase was a no-brainer!

I've tried it on and it fits well. It's well made and looks great! I love the ventilation system. I would have liked the chin strap to adjust a little tighter. My head must be between large and x-large in this particular helmut. With no snow in Dallas and little in Angel Fire, NM right now, I may have to test it next winter.

helmet makes a huge difference in the cold and windy vermont mountains. unfortunately it does not fit me perfectly - not sure if that is a size or style issue. but it worrks. i have not had to open the vents yet - but its nice to have to quick option. i have heard of folks loosing the removable vent coverings and having a hard time replacing them.

I looked into many helmets and after trying them on, and checking reviews, this was by far the best. I've used it twice once in 10 degree weather while dumping snow, and the other in 40 degree warm sunny weather, and the temp was PERFECT in both scenarios. Definitely worth the extra $ from the nine.

I had been using a solid helmet for 8 years and in the warm weather it was simply too hot. The G10 is comfortable for my bald skull but at 12 degree F or cooler it is too cool even with the vents closed. A balaclava with a thin skull cap on it is my solution.

Up 'till this point, I hadn't bought in to the helmet craze that has been sweeping the slopes. I was too manly for a helmet. However, after seeing a friend take a horific fall in a Breckenridge glade, I decided it was time to get one.
I tried on several brands and models and decided on the G10. I found it to be an excellent blend of price, features and comfort.
After skiing for 2 days in Beaver Creek, I am a huge fan of the G10. The fit was excellent. So good that I forget I was wearing a helmet. It feels just like a hat and just as warm.
We skied in heavy snow and the ability to change venting with the flick of a button was nice. Heavy wind and snow, close the vents. No snow, skiing hard, sweating, open the vents.
Bottom line, I am now a fan of skiing helmets and won't hit the slopes again without my G10.

Giro helmets come in lots of sizes, so chances are there's one that's going to fit you. A helmet that fits correctly should feel snug, with just a little room between your head and the sweat absorbent headband and pads.
Once you have a helmet that's the right size and has been properly adjusted you can customize the fit with the adhesive-backed sizing pads. Stick them to the helmet shell so that when you put the helmet on, it feels snug but not too tight.
You've no doubt noticed the straps hanging off your helmet. As pretty as they are, they're not there for decoration. If your straps aren't adjusted right, your helmet won't stay on properly. So pay attention. The first step is to make sure the helmet is on your head correctly. That means the front should be level with the back. If the front is too low, you won't be able to see hazards like wayward puppies and cliff edges. If the front is too high, you may look awfully rakish, but your helmet will not protect the front part of your head in a wreck. Once you've got your helmet on right, what keeps it there? No, it's not 'gravity' you smart aleck. The correct answer is, of course, the straps, which have been threaded through the helmet kind of like a shoelace. And just like a shoelace, before you adjust the fit, you want the two sides to be even. If your straps aren't even, tug on whichever of the rear straps is shorter until they are.
Next you'll need to check the position of the Tri Loc strap guides. You want both the front and rear straps to be snug when your helmet sits level on your head with the Tri Loc strap guides positioned just below your ears. To adjust the length of the straps open the Tri Loc and slide whichever strap needs adjustment up or down until it is in the correct position. Any slack in the strap must be pulled through the chin buckle. Now snap the Tri Loc closed and adjust the other side. The loose ends of the straps must be passed through the rubber "O" ring.
Close the chin buckle and tighten the combined straps until your helmet fits snugly. How snugly? You should be able to open your mouth, but only enough to take in carbohydrates. Here's a good test to see if your straps are adjusted right. Try and pull the helmet off from both the front and back. This is important. Grab the helmet with both hands and pull hard. If it can be tipped forward, you need to tighten the back straps. If it can be tipped backward, you need to tighten the front straps. If you want your helmet to stay on in an accident, you need to make sure it won't come off in your living room. If you cannot adjust the helmet so it cannot be removed with the straps fastened or so it does not move excessively, DO NOT USE THE HELMET. Replace it with a different size or a different model.
HOW TO SELECT A SIZE
A helmet that fits well offers the best protection and the most comfort. That's why Giro has invested so much in the art and science of helmet fit. Our proprietary sizing system was created using data collected by the International Standards Organization (ISO) on head shapes and sizes of the worldwide population. Most Giro adult helmets are available in 3 unique shell sizes (XXS/XS, S/M and L/XL). Our children's and youth helmets are available in 2 shell sizes (XS/S and M/L).
Follow these directions to determine which size is right for you:
- Wrap a tape measure around your head just above your ears.
- Compare this measurement (in inches or centimeters) to the sizing chart for the model you have selected.
- Follow all fit and adjustment instructions in the Giro Owner's Manual.
If you can't adjust the helmet to meet these requirements, exchange it for a different size or model.
GIRO: FIT FOR WOMEN
Fit has always been a hallmark feature of Giro helmets. And our helmets have always been designed to fit both Men and Women. Why do Giro helmets fit better? The difference is in the head-form. Our helmets are built on proprietary head-forms using data collected by the International Standards Organization (ISO) on head shapes and sizes of the worldwide population. ISO data showed that unlike feet, there is no consistent difference between the head shapes of men and women. The only consistent difference is one of size: women's heads are generally smaller than men's. For this reason, all of Giro's adult helmets are offered in 3 unique shell sizes (most of our competitors only offer 2). By building our helmets in more shell sizes, we fit smaller heads more comfortably and precisely.
Our Roc Loc 2 and Roc Loc 3 fit systems are ponytail compatible for long hairs of either gender.
