From their high octane collection of race helmets, comes the Giro Talon Helmet, offering up full head and ear coverage and an aerodynamic shape for maximum speeds. This Giro helmet is made with their durable, lightweight hardshell construction, taking a burly ABS shell and injection molding an EPS liner inside. This lightweight, impact-absorbing design meets head safety requirements for skiing and snowboarding. Padded earflaps are covered by the hard plastic shell as well, shielding from branches and racing gates, and you can add on the Slalom chin bar (sold separately) for full face coverage. When conditions on the mountain are mild, 6 passive vents help your head stay cool. When you want more aerodynamic performance or temps are extra cold, snap the hard plastic Aerodynamic Racing Covers™ over the vents. Keeping your goggles in place are a deep goggle notch around the sides for the strap, and a security loop at the back. From a chaotic Chinese Downhill race for glory, to a spandex-infused speed run down a giant slalom course, the Giro Talon Helmet is fast, comfy, safe, and styled for a fast, race-ready look on the hill.

This helmut fits very snug . Make sure you get the right size . My hat size is 7 1/4 and I got a small and it fits pretty tight . I got it in black and it looks very sleek . The only problem I hsve is the air vents on the helmut have to be removed if you want air .

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: snug fit

Giro Talon Helmet
February 25, 2013

I recently purchased the Giro Talon helmet and have had the opportunity to ski with it on three full days of skiing. Prior to purchasing this helmet I had tried other brands and found the Giro line of helmets fit my head best. I especially like the Talon helmet for its ear coverage, while it still has a vent for hearing. The helmet lining is thick enough to keep my head warm and on days when it is warmer there are two removable plastic strips that unscrew to allow more air into the helmet. The helmet is light weight and very comfortable to wear. I like the slotted sides that keeps my goggle straps in place on the helmet. I was unsure how the goggle strap retention device on the back of the helmet would work, since I have tried other helmets with a similar system and it didn't do a good job keeping my strap from sliding out. However, this has not been a problem to date. I would have preferred a strap that snapped to the helmet to keep my goggles more secured to the helmet. The helmet has a nice sleek look that enhances its appearance. The helmet also has slots on the side of the helmet to screw on a chin guard for added protection for skiing gates. As a cyclist, I have been using Giro helmets for years and they have always provided reliable performing helmets with great customer service.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
