Description
The Men's Cady 2477 Synthetic Insulated Jacket from Golite is named after a hotly debated wilderness bill in California which is in regards to claimants using part of a 136 year old mining law to circumvent conservation of federal lands and to re-open protected lands to motorized vehicles. Just how specifically the name describes Golite's new insulated jacket is up to the beholder. Naming conventions aside, the Cady is teaming with features:

Great fit and style but pretty thin...
I was looking for a thin but warm insulated jacket to replace my old Mountain Hardwear Compressor a few months ago. I tried the new Compressor but it seems more flimsy, thinner, and is smaller fitting for some reason. This jacket is pretty impressive. It is very simple but still stylish, very thin but still quite warm, and affordable. I ended up abandoning the insulated jacket for a soft shell, but if I want one again this will be at the top of my list!

Great buy!
My son is a student at UGA and asked for a lightweight jacket that would keep him warm while walking around campus. I was familiar with North Face and Arcteryx...then I found this Golite jacket. I love the graphite color.....very well made.....excellent quality for the price!

Very Warm and Versatile jacket
First let me say that I haven't been happy with a jacket I have bought in many years. Nothing has impressed me, not that I buy a lot of jackets. The GoLite Cady on the other hand has been wonderful over the last 2 months that I have owned it. I wear it almost every day to work and I have worn it under shells while snowboarding. This thing is very warm, despite also being very thin. With a T-shirt and sweater on, it kept me reasonably warm on 1/2 mile walks to lunch in near zero temps. It also kept me warm on the hill under a shell in zero temps and 15mph winds. My favorite thing: The pockets! They are lined in a heavy fleece and my hands immediately warm up when I put them in there. My least favorite thing: The two-way zipper. I have never been a fan of these things and have yet to find a good use for one. This is better than others and only causes me trouble when removing the jacket. You have to make sure the bottom part of the zipper is pulled down securely and then the top will go down and you can remove it. It seems that the bottom part of the zipper will move up by about 1/8" in use. The pit-zips are a nice addition to a jacket like this. Even if you get a little warm in it, it is easy to quickly dump some heat. This is definitely my "go to" jacket now and I use it all the time. I think everyone around me is tired of me telling them how great it is. So now, I am telling you. The internal chest pocket is a little small, but big enough to hold most cell phones. My iPhone fits snugly in there, but is a little tight with a headphone cord attached.

Fitted Tops: GoLite Baselayers are 'Fitted' garments - Fitted tops will be snug to the body but are not 'skin tight'. Fitted tops are generally not intended to be worn over other garments.
Fitted Bottoms: Fitted bottoms will be snug to the body, but are not 'skin tight'. This fit is generally used in baselayer bottoms and is intended to be worn under Semi-Fitted or Relaxed bottoms.
Semi-Fitted Tops: Semi-Fitted tops will contour to the body without being tight. Semi-Fitted tops will fit comfortably over Fitted tops such as baselayers.
Semi-Fitted Bottoms: Used primarily on our high aerobic performance bottoms such as running pants, Semi-Fitted bottoms will contour to the body without being tight. Semi-Fitted bottoms will fit comfortably over Fitted bottoms.
Relaxed Tops: Relaxed tops will drape over the body, but are not baggy. Relaxed tops fit comfortably over Fitted and Semi-Fitted tops.
Regular Bottoms: Regular bottoms offer a little extra room in the seat and upper leg for ease of movement. Regular fit is generally use in our hiking and travel bottoms.
Semi-Fitted Outerwear: Used primarily on our high aerobic performance outerwear pieces, Semi-Fitted outerwear contours to the body and will fit comfortably over both Fitted and Semi-Fitted tops.
Relaxed Outerwear Tops: Our most common fit for outerwear, a Relaxed outerwear garment drapes over the body, but is not baggy. Relaxed outerwear fits comfortably over Fitted, Semi-Fitted, and Relaxed tops.
Relaxed Outerwear Bottoms: Relaxed fit is our most generous fit for bottoms and is generally reserved for outerwear. Garments using Relaxed fit offer ample wearing ease from the seat to the ankle and are intended to fit over other pants.
