Warm Base Layer This is a warm and breathable base layer that can be worn without a mid-layer when not too cold. It can also be used by itself as a standard T-neck when it is cooler but not cold. It wicks moisture really well while retaining its insulation qualities. Really like the Merino wool, as it does not itch! (the polyprop primary layer helps with this) When it does get very cold it makes an excellent base layer that keeps you dry and warm. As others have indicated it is a tight fit but if you want a looser fit then just order up one size. I like the body hugging fit, as it is not as tight as another well known primary layer brand. Great fit This is a great base layer. It's fits tight so there is no excess fabric dangling around and it provides just the right amount of warmth for a base layer. January 3, 2012
excellent i have been a fan of helly hansen brand since I was a child.... I m impressed so far with this thermals, its amazing how this could warm you up... I skied in temperaures of less than 20 f and this one didnt let me down... Only downside is that theres not much color or graphics to choose from, just the same traditional colors we used to see each year... June 12, 2011
Very warm base layer love the material The seam on the zipper separated but other than that, excellent layering shirt and it doesn't end up stinking like synthetics. Very washable. Just know that it's form fitting. December 5, 2010
Great Baselayer Product is made to fit an athletic shape, so it will be snug. As a baselayer, should be so the true fit comes in handy. However, as compared with most products, you may want to order one size larger. The wool is very comfortable and very warm. I own several of these and rotate them during ski trips out west when it is cold. It is warm enough to be warm directly under the jacket when it is not too cold, but when the temperature dips, a midlayer is needed. I would highly recommend this as a baselayer piece for all winter activities. HH does not disappoint! October 16, 2010
Extraordinary base layer! Extraordinary base layer! Fit is fairly snug so if that bothers you buy a size bigger. Have had this top for over a year and used it regularly. Still looks new. July 14, 2010
Remarkable Top and Fabric Fit is fairly tight, and hugs the body. No drape. Wool combo is excellent for warmth and some wind resistance from the polypro. I wore this relatively thin piece as my only piece and did five miles in the low 40s with some wind. I knew it was working when my hands got cold but other parts did not. Again not windproof but better than 100 percent wool, by all means. There really is something to this blend. This is a unique piece for your line up: not pure poly but not all wool. For cooler weather running in the 40-50s this would be perfect with even a thin poly t underneath. I bought a second one. February 15, 2010
