My order of the Hamm jacket was my first order at Altrek and my first Helly-Hansen. Customer service at Altrek was great and the sales force seemed knowledgeable on the jacket and delivery time. I was concerned with the order at first because I was seeking a 3XLT which my reasoning suggested a bit longer length and more room to layer. I am 6'1, 280 and prefer a more long and spacious fit to tolerate a sweater under my outside coat. The 2XL provided enough room and length and although roomy was pretty true to size. The quality of jacket was evident in the wrist closures to securely keep water from seeping around your wrists. The front zipper was securely secured behind the storm flap. I liked the hood feature that was folded into the collar but available when needed. The fabric used in the Hamm seemed high quality and capable of providing wind resistant and dry environment in a number of changing weather conditions. The jacket is presented as a work-wear quality jacket but easily is acceptable as a business casual item. I selected the blue Hamm and am considering acquiring a red one also to leave in a second car for sudden inclement weather events. Cons: I wish there was a 3X liner available for the jacket but given the quality of the exterior I am uncertain that in the Denver winter weather with occasional freezes and brief outside runs to the store and work the absence of the liner will be ok. A definite 3 season jacket and depending on where you live maybe a year-round one too. The price seemed a bit high but after a search on many sites the Altrek price was the same as other outlets and Helly-Hansen themselves. The no shipping charge was a tipping point for me in selecting Altrek. The first time I used the jacket I fumbled a bit with the zipper but got used to it readily. The jacket offered some illuminating reflective finishing elements and I might have liked a bit more as a safety measure at night. I did not want a jacket that resembled that of a utility repairman in international orange or bright yellow but I did was usability and some business casual élan which this jacket possesses. In summary: This is a definite great buy for the $.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great value
