Multipurpose shoes for boys

Just bought a 3rd pair of this hiking boots to replace the one my son outgrew. My boys use these waterproof boots for camping / hiking but also as rainy day shoes and as snow boots (few times we go skiing each yr). No complaints from both boys (6 and 9) about the boots being uncomfortable or their feet being cold or wet. When kids outgrow their shoes so quickly, it's nice to have a pair of "specialty" shoes that can be used for more one purpose.

I purchased 2 pairs for my boys aged 5 and 3. The products arrived in mint condition and this somewhat allayed the fear of being shortchanged by online shopping. Kudos to Altrec. I ordered the size 13 and size 10. The shoe fit was good. My boys tested the boots the very next day when they went for a hike. Not only did they run with it during the hike but also partially submerged them into puddles of water which covered half the boot. From what I can say, the boot lived up to its claim of comfort and waterproofing. There was no complaints from both boys about the boots but probably due to his age, my younger boy had more adaptation issues with such a footwear. Perhaps I got a size somewhat lager than his feet and as such he did walk a little funny with the boots on. Having said that, the boots are truly worth considering especially given that the price range is not too exorbitant. So far we have only used it on one hike and hence the 4 star rating. We will see how the boots will handle more sustained use in the weeks to come. For now, we are very pleased with the purchase.

So far, this is a good shoe for my son (6 yrs, narrow feet). It seems comfortable, warm and water-resistant on our fall walks. The colors are nice and neutral, and the construction seems of good quality. My only complaint is that the round shoelaces don't stay tied even with a double-knot, but we can switch them out for flat ones.

These boots were a great price. I checked other sites and this site sold them the cheapest. I bought these boots for my 10 year old son he loves them. Made with great material and the keep his feet warm.

Bought it for my girl for Alpne travel - very good boots, comfortable, waterproof and good looking. I bought it lager, so my girl used it two years. Use it so for rainy days too - the legs never gots wet.

I bought these boots for my grandson's birthday, he's 4 and he loves them. He lives in Idaho where there is plenty of snow, and wants to wear them everywhere. I would highly recommend them.

My 9-year-old son is a bit fussy about his footwear, and he has complained that the snow boots are too bulky for running around in the school yard. So I did some research on the internet and came up with the Renegades. My son put them on and has been wearing them every day ever since. He complained that the top of the shoe rubbed his leg for the first few days, but it seems that now the shoes have softened up and he has no more complaints. Other than that the shoes were a go right out of the box, and were true to size. My son loves the fact that the top eyelets hold the tension in the shoe-laces while he bow-ties them. His feet has stayed warm and dry even on the snowy days. Overall we are both very happy with the purchase.

Great kids hiking shoe

Both my children (aged 10 and 7) use these shoes for regular hikes, as well as outdoor activities. They have hiked carrying packs for up to 9 hour hikes, in all sorts of weather, so we have seriously tested these shoes and I highly recommend them. I was looking for a well-made, high quality hiking shoe, but one step below the level of the "made in Italy" brands, considering that my kids would out grow them, and these fit the bill. During one outing in on and off rain, wet grass, their feet did get wet, but they were ok with a change of (wool) socks. No complaints and when your kid is ready for a real hiking shoe, we highly endorse these!

I bought these boots from my son to wear this fall. He is entering middle school and will have recess no more so he has no need for snow boots in school. I also wanted him to wear something that would keep his feet dry and warm without needing to lug boots back and forth for the bus ride. Not the a Middle school-er would wear anything as uncool as snow boots. These fit the bill perfectly. Warm, waterproof, light, and comfortable. They haven't seen snow yet, but I am sure they will be perfect for what he needs.

Great Quality and Value for a Kid's Boot

This boot is very lightweight, extremely comfortable and easy to lace up. It does not make his feet hot and they are definitely water proof. Good quality kid's hiking boot at an incredible price. We could not find anything in our local stores and my son saw this boot and loved it. I like boots that lace up (no pull strings or velcro) and this had all the other qualities. Plus we only had a few days before our trip and Altrec got them shipped out quickly and they arrived on time.

We purchased these boots in a size 4 for our son's first cub scouting camp-out. When we received them they were too small (He wears a size 3 tennis shoe). I called customer service and they helped me get a better fit based on the measured length of my son's foot. Then they sent a new pair to us. The boots arrived as promised and they fit! Not only do they fit but my son told me they feel like a hotel for his feet. They seem very durable and tough enough to handle a rough and tumble boy.

This boot is sturdy to withstand the rough and tumble life with kids. It runs true to size and is comfortable. It did prove a bit difficult for my daughter to tie as the boots need to fit snugly but this is a minor issue. Great value!!

We do a lot of hiking in wet condition and my 7 year old has thick feet which are hard to find shoes for. These have been perfect for him. They fit very comfortably, are actually waterproof and he loves them.
