Just Right
February 18, 2011
Between Ibex and Smartwool, the Ibex wins it for better, less itchy and less fuzzy wool. The build quality is top notch. The weight is just right for standing around in the teens with a pair of soft shells over them. But feel free to climb that ice and get a little sweaty because these things dry out fast. I've never felt clammy or cold after a hard climb or a hard hike in to the crag. If you are stationary in the single digits or lower, you may want to go with something warmer. But if you're moving, these are just the right weight and fit.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, none fuzzyExcellent

These are the warmest long johns I have tried. The fit is contoured and comfortable. The wool is thicker than most long johns and is itch free. An excellent product.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityWarm, comfortable and durable

I like Ibex products in general, and these are typical of the brand: the wool is very comfortable next to the skin, the fabric is high quality and fits well, and Ibex products last and last despite hard wear and repeated washing. The only downside is that Ibex products are not inexpensive, but they are worth it if you're serious about staying warm - I use these for snow-sports and winter cycling.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, PerformanceBest wool bottoms I own

I purchase a lot of wool base layer. The Ibex brand is seamed very well, great fit and of course warm. These are the best wool bottoms that I own. I had purchased a previous pair and needed a 2nd, I went to Ibex.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceComfortable and Good Fit

I bought these for my husband and he loves them. He says the fit very well and they are warm. We live and ski in the northeast where it is often very cold and windy in the heart of the winter.
warmest long johns

the reviews say that the long johns are warm. As far as I know, they could be in 35 degree weather. I work in 10 & 20 below zero weather.I am a garbage man & I'm out everyday in below zero weather. Are these good for that cold weather?
Good product

Great fit and construction, odor-free, and extremely warm. These are great for cold winter days whether camping or in the city. I'm very happy with the purchase. I wish they made a long version, my inseam is 36 which is taller than average and they fit a little short.
Great Base Layer
