Good glove, hoped for more
November 26, 2010
I got these in a small, thinking they would possibly be warm enough to wear alone for casual activities. I am a female, normal to small size hands, and I should have gotten the XS. Empty finger tips not desirable. The gloves are pretty well-made, tightly knit wool. My hands started getting cold around 20 degrees with wind, but my hands are always always cold. All in all, better than most gloves available for normal winter wear.

super comfortable gloves

amazing how warm these gloves are, either alone, or used as liners. the dense ponte knit is the secret. wonderful light duty dress gloves, very classy looking. and did i say warm? for city use, they are dynamite. as a liner, which is what they were designed as, they are superb. i am a cyclist, and wear a larger knit wool glove as an outer layer, and have been good down to 30 degrees, which means 15-20 wind chill wise. i would love to find a light non insulated nylon over glove for these, they would be PERFECT for cycling in that mode. super product.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Performance, look great as dress gloveglove liner

They do what they do. They help keep your hands warm. I found them to be lightweight and thin, yet able to maintain a warmth that was acceptable in FEB/MAR time frame in Alaska. Just remember, they are a liner, and work best with gloves that are slightly larger than your hands.

Not what I expected from Ibex
November 05, 2011
Perhaps I am being overly negative because Ibex products are usually superior to... everything, but I was unimpressed by these glove liners. My main gripe about these gloves is the bulky seams. Running the length of each finger on both sides is a thick seam that chafes like a rock in your boot. Given that these are intended as a liner glove (and are not appropriate for anything else), I would expect Ibex to try for low profile seams in less bothersome places. The fabric itself doesn't have the same stretch and rebound that I've found in other Merino products. That combined with the bulky seams makes these gloves a little awkward for use as a liner. Negativity aside, these are extremely durable for a set of liners. Perfect for someone who's constantly popping their mitts off to mess around with bindings, tools, ropes, cameras, etc. The roughness of the fabric keeps a good grip on ropes. They are super warm even by themselves, but a slight breeze penetrates the waffle-stitch easily. I have been using these as a liner for my Hestra XCR gloves. I wear a size 9 Hestra and I've found the medium Shak liners to be a little snug, but rather than going down to a small Shak, I would go up to a size 10 Hestra.
Pros: Lasts forever, good for rope management, Cons: Bad designcomfortable glove liner

It's a comfortable glove liner for traveling under the cold weather. I use the glove liner and wind stopper glove, I am comfortable under Celsius temperature -30 on Harbin China.

excellent glove

Awesome glove. I'd been wearing a "breathable" glove on my 2 hour bike rides in about 40 degree weather. My thumbs and pinkie fingers got cold toward the end of the rides due to sweat buildup. I planned to use these gloves as a liner but used just these as my glove for one ride. My fingers stayed warm the whole time. I am impressed!! The wool is woven tightly and I'm hoping this bodes well for long term durability. (I've only had them for a few weeks)

Good Liners
January 16, 2011
I recently got these liners, and thought I'd see how they work just by themselves. Well, they're definitely liners, not great for independent use. The pinky and thumb are a little long on me, but I could just have weird hands. Overall, they're a good product, the material feels and looks very nice, and they do exactly what they're supposed to.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of useexcellent ski glove liner

perfect under my ski mittens solved the problem of cold fingers
Merino Glove
June 15, 2011
Excellent merino glove. Not particularly warm on it's own in colder temperatures, but excels in aerobic activities. I would recommend this glove for active wear down to higher freezing temperatures all the way up to 50 degrees. On their own, I would recommend not using these gloves to handle anything approaching rough use such as installing car chains. I learned the hard way that they are not a do everything type of glove as the threads can tear more easily than anticipated. They are best suited for jogging, hiking, etc. Work well for backpacking also where gloves are often preferable for detail jobs (setting up a tent, stove, etc.) when conditions get frigid. I've found merino to be the best material for next to skin applications and Ibex makes great stuff, this being a good example.
The most amazing warm liner gloves ever
January 04, 2011
I suffer from Raynaud's disease which means my hands get very cold easily and quickly. However, these Ibex wool liner gloves kept my hands warm alone while hiking in 36 degree weather and even when I got them slightly damp! Without a doubt, these gloves are a perfect starting point to keeping your hands warm (and dry with a shell) so I highly recommend them to everyone with cold hands!!!!

Shak Glove Liner
November 30, 2010
I ordered the Stretch Liner at the same time, thinking that I could use these, and them, alternately, which I can, but I can also fit the Stretch Liner into the Shak so I have three options! Cold hands were the last arena in my struggle to stay warm through the winter. So far so good!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueLooked used after only one use
February 03, 2011
These glove liners were covered with picks after only one use. I have been pleasedwith the quality of this brand multiple times in the past. This product however I found to be diappointing.
Cons: Wears quickly, Low performanceGreat Glove Liners

I have really really big hands and usually have a hard time finding gloves big enough for my hands. The XL fit perfect. They do a great job as a liner. My son borrowed them thinking they were just gloves, they came back to me with holes in them. I would use only as a liner. But I work outside in the cold and the work great under my work gloves.
Pros: Great design, Performance, Cons: Wears quicklyDid you recently buy the Ibex Shak Glove Liner? Write a review.
the ultimate fiber

love the gloves and how they fit. they are an awesome buy for their comfort and for the quality of the product since they are a made of natural fiber and from a local company in Vermont!!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great valueGreat Liners

I purchased these liners for a recent ski trip to Vail. I chose these in hopes they would be long enough past the wrist to work with a pair of Hestra guantlet style gloves and they were. :) I ordered the size small which worked since I wear a womens size 8 glove. I have long fingers but a slender hand and the small fit nicely. I did use a heat pack between the liners and glove since it was 18 degrees with a windchill of -10 up on top of the mountain. The longer wrist length was the selling point for me on these vs others and they had the highest wool density.
Pros: Great design, Great valueBlack, India Orange, Rusty Root, Sea Blue and Stone Grey.
