Love that Ibex!
November 28, 2011

I live in San Diego, and I'm a convert to Ibex wool underwear and clothing. The Balance sport top is form-fitting, but I can put it on in the early morning and not realize I'm still wearing it by dinner. Keeps me warm even after a long run, dries quickly. It is so good looking, that I'm bringing a supply to wear to Italy this Christmas.

Pros: Great design, Lasts forever, Performance

Nice baselayer
January 02, 2012

Very good quality wool! This one has a shelf bra. I couldn't find another wool baselayer w a shelf bra. Only 2 complaints: It runs very small. I am usually a solid medium and the large is skin tight. Also, the straps are very close to the neck which limit exposed neckline clothing. I freeze in winter so I can overlook those 2 issues. Also another bonus is the length. I'm 5'10 and it pulls down to below my hipbones.

Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, fabric, Cons: sized too small

Must-have tank bra
September 23, 2011

I waited forever to get one of these because of the price, but I should have just gone for it. It's one of my favorite pieces for all of the reasons the other reviewers have mentioned: comfort, durability, style. It's wonderful to have in the mountain summers when I can wear it solo on hot afternoons, and it looks great under a simple layer on cool mornings or evenings. It's soft, durable and cute! I'm a 34B, but I'm on the tall side (5'8") with a long, thin torso but a typical mommy belly (3 kids will do that). I ordered a L because I wanted my belly covered, and it was a perfect choice. This wouldn't work for high-impact sports, but for hiking, biking and general wear, this tank bra has been my go-to piece day after day, and I don't spend the day tugging it down. The fabric is substantial, so you don't have to worry about a see-through issue. So glad I got it before winter hits so I can have a sports bra for skiing that doesn't get cold, clammy and stinky.

New version is better
October 19, 2011

I love wool because it does not stink no matter how many days you wear it! This is a very comfortable cami, but if you get the old version it was a little short and would ride up. The newer version I bought recently is longer and perfect! It fits to your body but it isn't tight. It actually supports pretty well too.

Pros: Build quality, Performance

great!

I love this bra! Worth every penny to me. It is wrap-around supportive, very warm, and the fabric is soft and comfy. I wore it today as baselayer while xc skiing. :-)

Tight Fit
October 18, 2011

I love wool tops with a shelf bra. This one is extremely close fitting and while I usually wear a small, I will have to reorder a medium. This top will provide good support for yoga and hiking.

By far the most comfortable camisole I have tried. It works well for multiple activities. I recommend it to all of my friends

Top-notch and flattering
May 18, 2011

I'm a total convert to Ibex Balance sports bras (I have three) and now to this sports top too. Ibex merino is of excellent quality: it's soft, stretchy, durable, doesn't hold odors, washes/dries well, and wicks moisture really well, getting wet but never clammy. The Balance sport top is very flattering and nice enough to wear as a regular top, not just for work-outs--the Y-back looks great on and is stylish as well as comfortable. The built-in shelf bra is also comfortable and supportive enough for me (B cup). I've been using it a lot as a baselayer under cycling jerseys and it's excellent in that capacity--keeps my core warm in chilly weather and keeps me cool when it is warmer out. It's very fitted so it doesn't add any bulk and remains light even when saturated with sweat. As far as sizing, I am petite and normally I wear a size S in tops but my bra size is M (36B) and in Ibex bras I wear a L (though the Bralette in M does fit me but I like the fit of the L better). I decided to try the M here as the best compromise and am glad I did--it's a good fit all around. The waist is sleek and slim and is not at all baggy, the shoulder straps are comfy, and the bra fits like the size M Bralette does on me (so a little more snug than the size L but not overly tight). Judging from my experience with the Balance bras and now this top, I would suggest going by your bra size when ordering this top. Oh and finally, order any color and I think you'll be pleased: they are all great and look even nicer than in the photos!

Everyday top
July 09, 2013

I use this top everyday, it's really confortable and I use it underneath my regular clothes or when it's really hot just by itself. I enjoy wearing it when I exercise as well, my only complaint is that the buckles hurt a little with my backpack after a long hike, but rather than that it's ok. I'm not normally a medium, but both of these that I purchased, I got them in medium because I'd been told that these shirts run a little short in the length. I'm not sure how the smalls fit, and I'm not tall (5' 2") but the mediums fit me well. I'd get more of these so that I could have one for each day of the week.

Pros: Build quality, Performance

This is one of my favorite pieces
January 23, 2009

I LOVE it - It is so warm and comfortable on a cold day of skiing, and I wear it as the under layer to my travel jacket when the temperatures are variable.

Great multi-purpose top
June 08, 2010

Soft, supportive (for small busted women). Works well as base layer, discrete enough to wear alone after the day heats up on the trail. Love the vibrant colors! Based on other reviews, I did size up to a medium instead of buying my traditional small in IBEX.

Great for Hot Yoga
October 25, 2011

I was never happy with a synthetic sport top for hot yoga. It is such a joy to have found a wool one with built in shelf bra. I can get out easily even after 90 min of soaking. It does not stick nor clingy. I am 5 ft 2 1/2in and weight 95lb. The small fits great. This top CAN stretch. I am so happy with it that I am going to get two more. You will not be disappointed with this one.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, easy on and off

Great for all seasons!
January 06, 2011

I bought two of these last summer as a base layer for hiking. I am a 34 B and the Ibex top provided adequate "sport bra" type support. Modest enough to wear solo for those super hot days, also works great as a base layer for winter runs. I have washed these tops repeatedly, dried flat, and they look brand new without that funky smell that seems to cling to synthetics.

Fantastic top!
January 23, 2012

This is a great sport top. Works as both a bra and a layering piece for winter sports. Probably would not be enough support for the more well endowed, but it is perfect for a barely A cup like me. Because it is wool, this will work well for my exercise classes where the sweaty top will have to hang out in my bag for a while before I can get it in the wash. No funky smell! Make sure you like form fitting tops -- it fits very snug. The small is fine, but I may try a medium next time for a slightly looser fit.

Pros: Great design, Performance
