Doesn't fit the way that it is pictured- with the straps crossed in the back. I undid the cross and the bra fit just fine. I did get it on with the straps crossed, but even with the adjustment loosened all the way, the bra was too tight, and wouldn't stay down and cover me. I don't think it is a size issue- I'm a 34a/b and I ordered the small. I love the material though, and it has a good amount of stretch in it as well. In my opinion, merino wool sports bras are the way to go- wicking and warm, even when wet.

not a good fit

fabric is wonderful. I am a 34C/36B, ordered a medium. The support band is big but everything else seems the right size. I am disappointed because I love Ibex. I hope they will re-design this,
Comfortable, but stretches
March 14, 2011
I own several Ibex bras and this one is the least useful. While it is supremely comfortable, it's more traditional hook and eye closure means that the bra's base tends to stretch out, so I'm using the last hooks by the third day of wear (less than practical for traveling.) Some reviewers have noted that the extra wide set of the straps is problematic; not so for me with my swimmer's shoulders, but I can see how that wouldn't work with most bodies. I'd say, opt for the Ibex bralette or more traditional sports bra top.
Pros: comfortable, adjustable, Cons: Cost, too much give in the baseDid you recently buy the Ibex Balance Support Bra? Write a review.
Odor-free!!!

I can wear this for days, and it doesn't smell! It does stretch a bit so I don't think it would support running, but it is great for backpacking! It has a back strap like a regular bra so it is easier to get into, even when wet, but supports like a sports bra.
No quality control check?

The bra seemed poorly constructed. The seams were very loosely sewed and the band was not entirely sewed into the piece of fabric that the clasp was on. Really seemed like an oversight of the quality control at ibex on this one. The bra was also seriously itchy. I love wool, and my favorite underwear are merino wool, but this was not something I'd want to wear right against my skin, especially in sensitive areas. :/ Too bad, it was actually a really nice design/cut and very flattering. I especially like the convertible straps (it can be worn as a racerback or a regular bra).
Pros: Great design, Cons: Poor quality, itchylike bra unsure of fit

the fabric is beautiful fine guage wool and the fit of the bra is supportive and comfortable, with a band that sits lower than normal on the torso and long straps that can be worn over the shoulder or cris crossed. Only complaint is that I'm not sure if a medium would fit better as the large is not tight at all. I tend to be either m or l depending on cut and think I will have to order a M to know for sure which I should be wearing.

I have 3 of these bras in size large; I wear them frequently and hand-wash them with baby shampoo. The two I purchased directly from Ibex have held up exceptionally well, although the straps do stretch. The third, which I purchased here on Altrec, began coming apart where the clasps are attached after a couple of wearings. From a design perspective, the straps are too far apart so there is often a feeling that the straps are slipping off your shoulders. I detest cross-back/racer back bras, but imagine that once the straps stretch, your only option is to criss-cross the straps for a more secure fit. Normally, I'd give up on a product that stretched and/or came apart so quickly. However, after a bilateral mastectomy and several reconstructions, this is the only bra I've found that does not chafe, squeeze or cause me discomfort for everyday wear, let alone exercise. I wear this as my everyday bra and frequently sleep in it, hand washing daily - but you can definitely wear it more than once before washing if you're not sweating it up. Honestly, if you sweat in it, you can just hang it to dry without washing and wear it the next day. That's the beauty of merino. I'm a 34DD and fairly active. This bra works for cycling and low-impact sports, but I can not recommend it for running or any high-impact sport. On the plus side, the natural fibers are fabulous - warm in winter, cool in summer and never stinky.
