Finally Found the perfect winter tight!
October 24, 2010

I am stoked! This product is amazing. It is form fitting yet doesn't feel tight - wide waistband doesn't bind at all - the tights move with your body. The tights are wonderfully warm yet not bulky. I have been searching for warmth, comfort and a non bulky solution to winter running. A product that does it all and this is it! I wear an XS and this runs true to size. I will definitely keep buying this product. Wool rocks! and machine washable!

Clothing Staple

I bought these with the intention of wearing them for biking to work, but have lived in them for days and used them for all kinds of activities. I am continually surprised how warm these are. The perfect example would be ice skating a few weeks ago. I was with a group of four men, all wearing several to multiple layers of bottoms, and I stayed just as warm as they did with my one layer of wool. I sat comfortably on the ice for minutes at a time while taking pictures- pretty impressive. They work well for my intended use, which is biking. The difference between my top and bottom half is noticeable while biking if I have my Ibex on bottom and a synthetic layer on top. I wear these multiple times a week for up to four weeks before washing them and, like others, I only do it because I feel guilty... they really don't get stinky! My only gripe, which is completely trivial and in no way affects the performance of this piece, is the fact that the picture shows the Ibex logo on the leg next to the zipper. My tights do not have that logo- it is present on the back yolk, but not the leg. I understand trying to be discrete with advertising, but I like the little Ibex logo and thought it looked neat on the leg... then mine didn't have it. Again, no biggie, just slightly bummed at the absence of this advertised aspect. I am 5'4" and 134 lbs, small fits well.

Ibex is amazing
September 22, 2010

I just received my Ibex Energy Tights and they are so wonderful. I like the zippers at the ankle as I shed layers while biking and this makes it easier. I find them warm enough to wear alone, or I can wear them under ski pants when it is snowing. The service at Altrec is really wonderful too. They are knowledgeable about the products.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

second childhood
December 06, 2010

These are great! I bought these tights for cold weather inline speed skating this fall, and for nordic skate skiing later this year. I am 5' 3" and the small is a good fit. These tights will show off your muscles! Better yet, the woolen jersey is a beautiful heavy weight that instantly took me back to the days of childhood when my brothers would wake up us younger girls well before daylight so we could skate before school. Back then, we had red tights! Now I'm 44 so black is just right. For the past 35 years those old woolen speed skating tights were the standard against which I measured all other sports fabrics. Now I have them again, in a modern, intimidating, athletic fit. Cool! I love Ibex's smooth, tight wool.

excellent comfort
November 29, 2010

I always shop for comfort and with this product I hit a goldmine. True to the description this wool with spandex is light weight, non irritating and moves with the body. I had intended to use this pair of tights for Yoga only, but after seeing the the quality and elegant look of the pants I wore them to work. I'm a professional, and my work entails several different room climates, (from 85 degrees with high humidity to 65 degrees and low humidity). I've been impressed with the climate and moisture control, (especially when the hot flashes hit!) They also work great for Yoga! The fit was a bit long but most pants are for me, being 5'3". I ordered an XL for extra room for Yoga (I'm also 35 lbs overweight) but I could easily go down a size. The alterations I had to make to the length was a breeze. After taking off 3" the look was unaltered and the hem came out looking like factory made (I used the extra 3" of fabric for two wonderful headbands). I would recommend this product to any female looking for quality and versatility in a wool pant.

Men may prefer the Ibex Energy Tights in W
May 04, 2011

Both my wife and I really like these Ibex Women's Energy Tights for skiing and biking and as an inner layer for less active winter pursuits. We find they fit us well. I am 5' 10" 160# (chose women's L) while she is 5' 2" 117# (chose Women's S but can wear XS) in this garment. I could not wear the size M. The size L is slightly long in inseam for me and the size S is for her but that is not noticed since we just push this up a bit and the elastic fit takes care of that. These tights are beautifully crafted and designed with a substantial merino knit fabric that holds snug and at the same time gives and does not bind. There are other models that lack the ankle zippers and the men's version has only a flimsy drawstring instead of the nice broad flat wool sheathed waist design of the Women's version. We really find the latter to be the better choice by far. We've more than one pair each and expect they will last a long time with proper care.

NH 48K ~ over 50
August 14, 2012

***WARM . . . GLORIOUS WOOL = BEST MATERIAL, so comfortable, hiking leggings. I'm 5'6" (135 lbs) with long legs . . . I needed fitted leggings to stretch and move with me while climbing over boulders in NH's northern Presidentials. Ibex Women's Energy Tight fit perfect under rain gear (ankle gripper kept tights from riding up), no bunching at the knees when paired with gaiters, and just snugly warm while sitting around the cold, damp AMC huts. Wool is warm even when wet. I loved the thick waistband . . . being an older hiker, I like my pants to stay put . . . too much material under my pack belt feels bunchy . . . these are VERY comfortable for my shape and size. Just perfect - I LOVE THEM!! Concerns . . . one zipper didn't always stay in the locked closed position - it wanted to creep open . . . and due to the nature of NH's mountains (ROUGH, rock scrambles) - use caution while butt-scooting, wool snags easily --- I wish Ibex included extra material for patching the knees or seat.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, long legs that fit, warm warm wool, best hiking material, great stretch, moves well with you, Cons: zipper creeps
