I never thought I would be excited about socks, but I purchased two pairs of this wool socks and just love them. I own other Icebreaker products, so I knew the quality was good, but just love how comfortable and warm these socks are. I am going to order a few more pairs soon. They fit just like standard crew socks, but offer extra support which is great. They are not any thicker though, which was important to me.

I am really fan of this socks! I bought several pairs of these socks five years ago and they are still in good shape. Now I bought couple more and for sure will buy some in the future. They are very comfy and soft. I would defenitly recommend them to everybody.

Icebreaker makes excellent clothing and socks. Unlike other materials, the wool fabrics wick and dry very quickly, making them great for travel and hand washing. The detail work and seams are much better than any competitor products. Icebreaker clothing typically does not sure less sturdy and less expensive serger seams. The seams are sealed to eliminate unraveling. These products last a long time. The products are definitely worth the extra cost. Another benefit of the light weight wool socks and t-shirts is they don't smell like other fabrics after a heavy workout. Again, great for travel. Lastly, the service at Altrec was excellent. Prices are fair, including shipping and handling. Other vendors use S&H fees as a way to increase profits - but not Altrec.

As with everything IceBreaker puts their name on, this is a great pair of socks. I own several pieces of IceBreaker, from heavier weight outerwear to thin body wear. They never stink, fade, or stretch. I wash and dry them, even the 100% wool stuff they tell you not to. No pilling on most items and only minor pilling on the thicker stuff. These socks are great quality but they do fit small...they are NOT 100% wool. I knew that when I bought them but you need to know that because it's part of what makes them fit and feel the way they do. I wear them for every day office wear and they are fantastic. They haven't faded and don't expect them to. If they do, you'll be hearing from me! The next time I will buy the other pair of thin black socks that Ice Breaker sells on Altrec...I believe they are 100% wool. If they fit differently, I'll write a separate review for them. As always, Altrec has been superb!

Very comfortable sock I use for "work"--used with dress/casual shoes. These are definitely thinner than normal wool socks(no extra cushion), but still very soft, warm and comfortable. A nice thick weave with a nice resiliency throughout from the nylon offering nice support. Good all-temperature wear--truly "everyday". I think they run a little small- so my XL was a good choice for my Size 12 feet.

I bought two pairs of City Ultralite Crew Socks. They are good, fully odor free like any other merino wool socks. Probably they are more durable than my Smartwool socks and have particulary no floss after washing. But they have no cushion and no so comfortable for me like my Smartwool socks, especially when I wear them all day. I prefer Icebreaker base and middle layer pieces to any other brands, but if I'm talking about socks, Smartwool socks is the best for me.

These are the best socks I've ever owned. They are comfortable and wear extremely well -- much better than any other similar product I've purchased. They're great for traveling and hiking, as they wick well and absorb odors. I little on the pricey side, but worth the cost, in my opinion.

I bought these socks based on all the great reviews that said that the Icebreaker Ultralite Crew Socks do an excellent job of wicking perspiration away from your feet, dry quickly if hand washed, and were very durable. What I found out when they arrived, was that these socks are not very substantial and in fact are on the thin side for any serious walking. I found that these socks were so thin that I would slide around in my shoes, that normally fit well with SmartWool socks, even with the laces as tight as I could get them. Worse yet, after only a couple of hours of walking in them, they started pilling at the achilles! Needless to say I returned the socks to Altrec. I can't say enough good things about them. Super fast shipping and a great guarantee on all their products, so that nothing is lost in trying any of them out. Bottom line (for me): Socks are true to size. Socks are susceptible to pilling. Socks are not substantial enough to hold up for any length of time. If your shoe are tight, these socks may be for you.
