Tech Top
December 30, 2010

I am really impressed with warmth. I I wore it on trip snowshoeing in Northern MN and it worked great. It was 2 below zero in the morning so I got a good test and it wicked moisture away and kept me warm. I like the fit, but the only drawback is that it could have longer body. I tried a XL on and the body was the same length, but the rest of it was to big. I have got three different weights of these garments and will purchase more.

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: could have longer body

A very nice base layer
January 02, 2011

I've purchased quite a few Icebreaker base layers and they have all been great. I'm using this BodyFit260 Tech Top with the BodyFit260 Legging w/ Fly as my snow removal baselayer. I also use the same combination as a Snowboarding baselayer. The merino wool can't be beat for natural comfort and warmth.

Great, a little big at the wrists
December 19, 2012

Like many have said, really quality product. My only minor gripe is that as a base layer it could be slimmer at the wrists. The thumb holes make this acceptable though. It feels true to size everywhere else.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

High Quality Wool Baselayer
February 16, 2010

This is an extremely well made, wool base layer for any cold weather need. The wool does not itch, breathes and wicks extremely well, and provides excellent warmth. The shirt is soft to the skin and can be worn all day without body odor. I perspire a ton and this shirt never had the foul odor of the synthetics. Interestingly, it can be worn on the coldest days and yet is breathable enough to function on its own as the temps rise.

versatile base layer
March 11, 2013

I have bought several tech top shirts because of their exceptional comfort and warmth. The only problem I have had is that they are just a bit short in length. I am 6' tall and 155 lbs. The medium fits perfectly except it could be an inch or two longer.

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Cons: too short

Great everyday wear
January 02, 2010

I bought a handful of these sweaters for my boyfriend. He swears by them - wears them every day of the week. Fall through Spring - they're great! They never smell, they're machine washable, and they hold up really well. Dress or casual wear - they look great with everything. I recommend buying them for all the men in your life - you won't regret it!

Amazing undershirt
October 11, 2009

The ice breaker shirt is the awesome! Well made, warm, and does not smell. Recently I discovered another use for this shirt. I wore it underneath my wetsuit while surfing in 48 degree water for 6 hours! It way extended my surf session, very warm but not to hot. And the best thing is that ever in seawater and sweat, when it dried it did not smell, amazing.

Great Shirt
December 27, 2009

This is a great shirt. It fits the body just as advertised. It is very warm and does not itch at all even though it is wool. My only complaint is that I am 6'3 and ordered an extra large, but it is a little short on me. Everything else is great.

Icebreaker does it again....again
May 09, 2011

I am actually an icebreaker addict. This garment does not disappoint. Icebreaker is not cheap but worth every penny. Moves well and feels very soft. A zipper guard would make the piece perfect.

Great shirt
July 27, 2012

I like the Tech Top shirt very much. It is of good quality, light and comfortable to wear on its own and in layering up. The large size fit is perfect for me and true to size. I travel a lot and I found the shirt not wrinkling much after sitting on a long plane ride. Too bad Altrec only offers one color at this time of my shopping because I would like to buy several shirts in different colors. I hope you will offer this shirt in more colors than the green.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

Merino wool is THE baselayer
January 19, 2010

Not having purchased baselayers in quite a while I am shocked at how merino wool far surpasses any other base layer material out their. The shirt is soft, comfortable and insulates extremely well. All of this is done while keeping your skin dry with no lingering odor in the shirt.

Good shirt but...
December 29, 2010

This is a great shirt, it is plenty warm and seems to be of very high quality. It is not exactly a body-hugging fit, though. I'm 5'11, 165lbs and a medium is actually a bit loose around the torso (but the length is good however). I love the thumbholes--which is the primary advantage of this shirt over the smartwool midweight--and the tall collar. For the price, however, I actually expected a bit more from this. It is not as soft as the smartwool midweight and the knit of this Icebreaker seems denser. The thumbholes give this shirt the edge, but it remains to be seen how it holds up over time.

Pros: Build quality, Performance

Nice soft wool on the skin that keeps you warm, can't go wrong. I wear mine almost exclusively as the sole layer under my ski jacket in temps between 15-40. Have also used it on mtb rides with another wool layer on top in temps between 35-50. I admit, I have become an ice breaker junkie, the quality and performance is worth every hard earned penny.

Too short
November 18, 2010

If the hem were an inch longer, I'd give it 5 stars. I almost exclusively wear wool baselayers (Ibex, Smartwool, Icebreaker), and the Icebreaker bodyfit 260 series is awesome. The layer seems to be cut just a little bit short, and I wish it were a tiny bit longer. I usually don't have an issue with length, since I'm 5'8, and mediums usually fit perfectly. It's still just barely long enough. Other than that, the quality is superb. I love the high quality wool knit which really screams "quality".

Tech Body Fit with this top
November 03, 2010

I bought this along with the 'Original Zip' so it gave me some comparative elements. This style as noted is more fitting to your body. Provides very good warmth for the lighter fabric. No itching and wicks very well. I will make good use of this and you will as well.

Pros: Performance, Ease of use

Local shops been boasting about Icebreaker
February 03, 2011

I refused to pay the full retail. Took this to Breckenridge last week and loved it. Four days downhill skiing, got back to Tulsa and two days crosscountry skiing. Thats six days use withoout any odor. Very snug athletic fit kept me warm from 2 degrees on top of peak 8 through 32 degrees in afternoon. Wicked moisture away effectively as well. I will be purchasing some bottoms to complement my top.

Pros: warm, Cons: price

Great Layer
February 16, 2010

Works very well as a core body layer for skiing, would definitely suggest this product.

Great weight for thirty degree days in Austin.

warm, fits well, comfortable
January 09, 2010

expensive, but worth it. I'm going to order a second one to replace other wool base layers that don't work as well.
