I recently purchased this for a skiing baselayer after having some experience with other 'weights' of Icebreaker merino wool. Of the 3 other IB tops I own, two of which were bought in NZ, I've preferred the fit of the XL because the tops tend to be form fitting - not so flattering for a mature figure who lost her waistline years ago and still 'rides' a desk more than she'd like. [My normal size is a 12 here in the US.] HOWEVER, I bought the L based based on the 1st reviewers discussion and it was perfect for me - 5'8" and 155. The sleeves are long enough for my long arms. The zip turtleneck can be worn open, up or rolled. I have a long neck but I find the placement of the zipper on this tall turtleneck to be a tad annoying in the up position because it's stiff and right under your chin. BUT not annoying enough to send back. A perfect outdoor winter weight baselayer, it is not see through if you need take your midlayer off nor scratchy.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Cons: CostA perfect layering piece

Great fit, great quality, great top! It is so warm and soft- not the least bit scratchy. I like it better than the synthetic base layers I own. If you buy for backpacking, it dries about as quick as a synthetic does too
Superb quality, style and comfort

I now own several of these tech tops, in different hues, because I found myself wearing the first one that I bought just about every day. The raglan sleeves and main seams give the garment a stylish fit, with smooth lines, and the top feels comfortable either open or zipped up high at the neck. The wool is of superb quality, with no roughness. This top is comfortable to wear next to the skin and also layers very well with other Icebreaker clothing. I have worn it hiking and while traveling on long journeys and I am tending more and more to make Icebreaker clothes the ones I wear for everyday activities. I am 5'6" tall, weighing about 130 lbs, and I can wear either a Medium (for a tighter fit) or a Large in this top. My arms are somewhat long and the sleeves for both of those sizes are fine (whether or not I am using the thumb loops). I prefer tops to be on the long side, rather than short, and the length of this top is perfect.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, extremely comfortable, versatile, superior quality woolGreat purchase

This is a very comfortable top and runs true to size though it might be a little on the large size. If you are inbetween sizes, I'd recommend going down. The sleeves are a good length, but I wish the torso was a little longer. I might get the bottom lenghtened.
Pros: Build qualityGreat purchase!

I brought this shirt up to Quebec to go cross country skiing; it was fabulous! It fits very well, looks great and kept me warm! I bought the medium as I am 5'8' and 145#. I LOVE IT! I have a new favorite brand and it's Icebreaker!

This is a very good top. It wicks moisture away and does not ever get as cold as synthetic fabrics. It has great stitching and is made well. However, it will shrink at most 10% on you if you dry it, so be ready. The fabric feels very soft and it has never itched. The font zipper is very handy and so is the thumb holes. The only down side is it does not have any zip pockets. I have worn this everywhere from on the slopes, classroom, and out on the town. It works perfect for any setting. The ideal temperature range for it are 20 as a base layer to 60 as an unzipped pullover. Overall I really enjoy it and would recommend it to anyone.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Cost, could be longerI love Icebreakers

This is my third Ice-Breaker base layer wool top from IceBreaker. This is my second 260 as I needed another top in my ski wardrobe. The neck is high, keeping my neck warm and cozy on cold winter ski days here in Whistler B.C. , the neck has a comfortable zipper that is easy to unzip when I am overheating then, I just zip it up and the moisture wicks away, so I am not cold when I slow down my activity. The wool is soft, easy to wash and dry in the machine and highly durable. I am a total Ice-Breaker Fan.

Terrific Tech

Recently purchased this in large. I'm 5'6" and 143lb so it's a bit large, but am using it over other layers so that works well. Sleeves are longish but not to point of irritation and thumb hole is tight enough to keep all in place. Medium would be the best fit, but I'm keeping this regardless. Good quality zipper that isn't scratchy and t-neck comes up to under chin. Fabric is soft and comfortable. Curved front seaming creates nice fit (despite having got a too big size). Excellent addition to my ski wear wardrobe. Very pleased with this top quality item.

Fantastic Base

Excellent moisture wicking. Considerably more odor resistant than synthetics. Just returned from spring ski conditions in Tahoe and, in the 50's, it's all I wore.
