I was totally blown away when I saw the Quiksilver Heathcoat Jacket for Men because it is probably the first time that any surf company has actually made a jacket with down fill. That's right, this is a true puff jacket in the real sense of the word with 280 gram down fill. If you have ever owned a jacket like this, you know that there is nothing else in the world quite like it. It is super soft and incredibly lightweight, but the amount of warmth you get is unparalled. Everything about this jacket is top notch. Quiksilver started with a durable ripstop nylon fabric. They lined the body with soft flannel and put taffeta satin in the sleeves. Like any good puff jacket, it has vertical seams. Quiksilver put a unique stamp on this with some different pockets including some extra internal pockets at the chest and double entry cargo pockets at the waist. Because you are likely to wear this in the snow, the back tail drops 3" below the waist. I've seen a lot of cool puff jackets - including standards from companies like North Face - and Quiksilver's version stands up to them all with even more style.
