Developed for a range of backcountry applications like skiing, climbing, hiking and more, the Backcountry Recon Jacket utilizes Mountain Hard Wear's innovative welding technology for durable seams that are completely void of needle holes. What this means is that you enjoy a streamlined, waterproof and breathable jacket without the bulk and ballast of sewing and extra taping over sewn seams that is typically found on other backcountry garments. The Backcountry Recon features a waterproof and breathable triple-layer Conduit™ membrane that is similar to the triple-layer GORE-TEX® XCR found in the Tenacity Jackets, but you'll find more nylon taslan reinforcement material spread over more of the jacket, making the Recon design ideal for a range of mountain applications. Beneath the sleeves are welded and watertight Superlight Pit Zip mesh vents to help keep you cool on ascents and there's a flop-free reinforced brim on the hood to help keep the white and the light out of your eyes.
