Marker Ltd. Dew Point Shell Jacket:
We like Marker because they never take shortcuts in quality, but their new waterproof and breathable Women's Dew Point Shell Jacket blew us away. This is one of the most well-equipped winter shells you'll find on the slopes and in the backcountry this season. Unlike the Marker Barometer Shell Jacket, the Dew Point Shell doesn't have an attached storm hood, which makes it perfect for skiers who usually wear a helmet for their weather protection. Beneath the sleeves you'll find zippered underarm vents, but the external zippers on the Dew Point are die-cut and welded to reduce the weight and optimize the waterproof protection. The cuffs and internal powder cuffs are also fully adjustable to help seal out the chill and any lingering spindrift. We like the extras like the internal phone/ sunglasses pocket, as well as the internal mesh goggle pocket. There's even an attached chamois lens cloth for keeping all that eyewear clear of condensation (unless you have Oakley goggles--and don't even think of touching the inner lenses on those things with anything except warm air). Other nice touches include an internal pass pocket so you can flash your photo at the lifties before heading up the mountain for the day. Down the front you'll find a dual zipper with a full storm flap. If Marker keeps making stuff like the Dew Point Shell Jacket, it's a safe bet that more people will immediately associate them with their exceptional outwear--just as they already do with great ski bindings.
