Description

The "WP" in the Keen Alamosa WP Hiking Shoe for men stands for "Waterproof," although sometimes we refer to it as "wonderfully perfect"--especially on muddy trails and in dew-kissed meadows. This light hiking shoe is less like a mesh running shoe and more like a boot/shoe hybrid, which is perfect for anyone feeling overexposed wearing the lightweight trail shoes based on running shoes. The waterproof and breathable Nubuck leather upper design is great for damp trails when the rains stop, but the low-slung profile might require pairing the Keen Alamosa WP Hiking Shoe with a gaiter for long walks in the rain. This durable design is also great for summertime camping in rain forests and tropical spaces. Keen notes that their Alamosa WP Hiking Shoe for men fits fairly close to actual foot sizes, but if you're in between, opt for going up a half-size for the right fit.

I love these shoes!!
December 26, 2011

This is my second pair of Alamosa's. I always get the waterproof ones more to keep the dust out than the moisture. Lots of room in the toe box. True to size for me.

Pros: great bum-around shoes too!!

Shoes fit small and narrow. I have 4 other pairs of Keens and these are the least comfortable. I am surprised with the narrow toe box. I've been breaking them in for over a week and hoping they get more comfortable.

Pros: durability, Cons: small fit

February 27, 2012

This is the most comfortable shoe I own. I ware them when hiking, walking my dogs or just out and about. The price I paid was half of what I saw at an outdoor store. I was really glade I checked altrec on my smart phone before I bought at the retail store.

Pros: comfort

Tennis shoe replacer

I really enjoy wearing these shoes to replace wearing tennis shoes all the time. They seem to hold up well and being waterproof is a plus. I love the look because it is different from all the others, but it is still comfortable.

Narrow, Dry, Comfortable
July 13, 2013

These shoes are a bit narrow, but I have narrow feet so they fit wonderfully. They keep my feet dry in wet terrain. I hike in these 5+ miles and play a lot of disc golf.

WAY small sizing
December 17, 2011

After reading the glowing reviews on how comfortable these shoes are, I was shocked to put them on and find them short and uncomfortable. The insole seems to have no cushioning effect. This size 13 length is shorter than every other pair of 13s that I own, from various brands such as Merrell, Salomon, Asolo, and North Face. This was especially unexpected to me since I had tried on several other Keen models such as the Targhee in 13, and they fit comfortably. And in the Keen sandals, I had to buy an 11.5 to get the right fit. What gives with Keen and their sizing?

Small Sizing
January 13, 2012

I just got these shoes. I am looking forward to wearing them. While the shoes look good, they don't fit. I will have to go up at least a 1/2 size. Other than that, I think they'll be great shoes.

Very Nice hiker, very comfortable and durable, fit is good makes you feel secure and able to tackle the most rugged terrain. I have a large foot for a female in women's dress shoes I am an 11 but for some reason in hiking shoes and sneakers I need to order in men's size 10.5.

Pros: durable
