Nice Casual Shoe
These keens were for my husband -- he wears a large size, so after trying them on...he felt that the front of the shoe made his foot look really large. He thought they were really comfortable, but we did return them for a pair of sketchers from here.

Great Shoe!
These are very comfortable shoes. They are exactly what I need being on my feet all day. I highly recommend them! You can't go wrong buying from Altrec or buying Keen's!

Excellent All Arounder
Awesome all around shoes, can be worn to the office straight to the trails and then to a casual night out on the town. They wear well and are extremely water-resistant. I have them in brown and they match pretty much everything. The laces hold well and the tongue is nicely padded, though sometimes shifts around since there is no tongue holder for the laces, and that can be a bit annoying. The toebox is cut very generously and accommodates my morton's neuroma well, letting my toes separate and wiggle. The toe bumper is also useful and the traction is really excellent on the sole. The insert is also nicely cushioned and is anti-odor.
The only complaint I have is I'm in between a 12 and 13, so naturally had to size up to the 13. Only issue is my foot slides around a bit and the creases are a little more pronounced. Most companies don't make a size 12.5 so this problem is fairly common to me. The Austins are probably the most popular Keen model, and the reason is clear: they are extremely comfortable and can be used in nearly every condition!

Very comfortable!
Exactly what I was looking for to serve as winter wear with jeans. Very comfortableand great support. Service was very fast and the price competitive for what I was looking for. A great choice.

Nice Shoes!
I have purchased various shoes from Keen in the past few years and can say with out a doubt they are the best shoes I have ever owned. The comfort, support, style, and durability are well worth the extra coin. The Austin model, in particular, is a stylish do-everything shoe that goes great with jeans or khakis. I wear them all day for work and my feet stay very comfortable. They are also suitable for long walks or easy hiking. I am impressed with the build and foot bed support of these shoes and expect to get a lot of use out of them. They are the most versatile shoe I have in my wardrobe.

Worn for 2.5 Years!
I was looking for the perfect shoe, combining comfort and style, when I came across these Austins. I bought them from Altrec.com and day one I was very well pleased. I walk around all day at work and they helped my feet with what seemed liked "feet hugs". These shoes did just fine for me, so well in fact that I wore them everywhere I went, even hiking. I liked these shoes so much that i wore them just about every day for two and a half years, I finally upgraded because the soles simply lost grip. Get these shoes!!!

Men's Austin Shoe
I am a 40 year old man in pretty darn good health. Recently I had knee surgery for a torn meniscus and my left knee hasn't ever really felt quite the same for obvious reasons. From October of 2009, I have had to make a small change in footwear in that I am now always wearing quality shoes...no more cheapo's. I have found the Keen's Men's Austin Shoe is by far and large the best on e out there. I swear buy it. Both for fashion and for comfort.

Best pair I ever bought
I saw a pair of Keen's Austin shoes on one of my co-workers. I liked the style. When I got my own, I put them on right from the box and went off for a full day of work, I felt like I had them for months no break in required. I'm sold on these shoes!

Great Shoes !!
I have a few pairs of Keen's for when I am outside of work and love them; I decided to try a pair for work. I knew I would love them and I do. I am on my feet for 8-9 hours a day and they are like wearing running shoes. This pair also keeps my feet dry when washing vehicles at work. Since getting them a few other co-workers have tried them and also find them to be great shoes as I did.

So comfortable!
These shoes are perfect - extremely comfortable, stylish, durable, and go with just about anything! I wear these shoes when I'm working outside, wear them to work, wear them to give my feet a break from other not-so-comfy shoes! I would highly recommend them.

Another Great Shoe from Keen!
This is my 6th pair of Keens. My purchases have been different shoes for different uses - light hiking, casual, urban day to day, etc. and have all performed wonderfully. The Austin is no exception. I purchased this as a casual work shoe that I can wear with khakis or jeans around the office, and still offers the comfort for walking to and from work on nicer days. It's a good looking shoe. The contrasting stitching gives it a little dimension in appearance without being obnoxious or distracting. The wide toe box is great for comfort and breathing room, while the support arch support is something I cannot find in any other manufacturer I have tried.
Great comfort, durability, and light weight continue to make Keen a great choice for me.

Great shoes, great price
This is my 2nd pair that I've owned and have not had any complaints. My 1st pair took 4 years of abuse before they finally wore out and this impressed me enough to want to buy another pair. Altrec had the best price that I could find and my shoes were delivered within a few business days.

Keen Men's Austin
These are great shoes except for outsole wear. It may be me as I live in a big city (Shanghai) and I weigh 190 lbs.
I walk everywhere in Shanghai and I suffer from plantar faciitis. I have found a method of avoiding pain buy wearing the Austin (and Briggs) shoe from Keen with a Birkenstock heel insert. I can walk for hours, pain free, as the shock absorption on these Keen shoes are great. The only problem I have is that I need to replace them every 6-8 months as the outsole wears thin in the heel. I guess I am a heel striker. Great shoe but I wish the heels would last longer since the rest of the shoe is like an "old glove". I will keep buying them despite the wear to keep pain free.
I have tried many shoes, barring no expense, to enable my 2-5 hour walks and this combo is the only one, plus an occasional foot massage, after all this is Shanghai, that keeps me pain free. I tried Finn Comfort (also great) but the cushioning is not as good when logging +4 hours. Buy and enjoy.

New Standard for Comfort and Durability
My buddy turned me on to Keen's Mens Austin shoe and it has become my go-to show for casual as well as light gardening and hiking. The generous "toe box" and the arch support make the Austin both comfortable and supportive. The six eyelets in the lace system coordinate with the arch and footbed insert to prevent foot problems.
These shoes are realy tough but hardly any break in is needed. I like to have two pairs on hand - one for casual wear/hikijng and one for gardening and messy weather.
Good selection of colors.
Only recommendation for improving the shoe would be to be able to replace the insert if necessary.

Very happy with these shoes
I had been wearing the same kind of shoes for about 10 years and I finally decided to buy a nicer, stylish brand of shoe. Keen shoes are awesome and I am very pleased with this pair of Austin Keen's. They fit great, look good, and seem very durable. I'd be comfortable wearing these around the city or taking them out on a hike. Overall a great purchase!

Great shoes!
I only wear Keens, period. I have owned Keens for 5 years now, I love the feel, the comfort, the light weight and durability of Keens. I used to have knee pain and once I started using Keens the pain went away. I would and always find my self recommending them to people :)

I purchased these for my husband to replace his old keens, same style. They are stiff at first but break in easily. They are high quality and should 2-3 years like his previous pair! They are nice enough to wear to work on casual days too.

Bullseye
The shoe is super comfortable, and is right on in sizing. Hip looking, but still a workhorse. Keen shoes are worth the money.
The Austin is a simple looking design, but has a padded insole, and great traction. Won't look out of place when you are out with folks, and like all of Keen's stuff performs great when hiking or just exploring nature in your own backyard.
Highly recommended.

Best Casual Shoe
This is my second pair of Keen Austins. I had to finally throw the others out after 4 years of abuse. I live in Minnesota and wear these constantly. The fit and comfort are excellent and the durability is unmatched. You will not be disapointed!

Keen Austin. Great for walking & light hiking.
Three years ago I bought my first pair of Keen Austins on an impulse as I was going away on a vaca where I'd be doing lots of walking. That week I wore them throughout Busch Gardens, and never stopped wearing them for any casual walk, light hike or chore. I wear them after work and all weekend, on chores, through the woods on light hikes, to the beach with shorts, to casual restaurants. Finally more than three years later, the sole started to wear through, so I found my replacement pair on Altrec.com, which offered the lowest price on the web. I'd recommend these shoes to anyone.

great comfort
This is my first experiance with Keen shoes and so far I am impressed. These shoes are very comfortable right out of the box. I haven't had them long enough to comment on the durability, but from what I can tell they seem to be well made. I like the removable insole. The laces are a bit short, but not a big issue. I ordered these in my regular shoe size and they appear to be shorter in length than other shoes I own. In the future I might try 1/2 size larger. Since the toe area is roomy the shorter length is not a problem with fit.

Clown Shoes
This is my third pair of Keen shoes - yes, the toe is exaggerated and they may look a little funky but they are extremely confortable. So when my friends refer to them as those 'clown shoes' all I can do is smile and tell them they don't know what they are missing. If you are going to be on your feet, you might as well be comfortable. Shoe build and durability are excellent.

very comfortable
This is my first purchase of Keen shoes, and so far I am well pleased. These shoes are very comfortable right from the start. I ordered my regular shoe size and the fit is good, with plenty of toe area, but the shoes look a bit short in length. A 1/2 size larger would make these shoes the same length of other shoes I wear. The laces are too short, but this is really not a big problem.
The removable insole is a plus.

good buy
I picked these shoes out for my husband. We're from Portland so we like the idea of buying shoes made in Portland. I originally ordered the olive color and they were a little more "olive" than they appeared online, so we exchanged them for the brown color which he likes better (Altrec was great with the exchange process!). The sizing was just what he expected. They've been comfortable they past few days that he's worn them around. They're casual enough to wear around town but nice enough for him to wear to work. He loves them; overall great gift and great shoes!

Keen on Keen Shoes
The shoes look and feel very durable. I got several positive comments on the style. I did have to purchase insoles because they seem a little hard on my feet. They do seem a little heavy also, but I would say that is because they are so durable/well made. I would recommend these shoes.

Really "Keen" shoe!
Nice shoe. I own many versions of Keen shoes and purchased this on the good experiences and fit of those products. I have wide feet with a 'high instep' and this shoe fits just right. In a non-Keen shoe I wear 10 EE or EEE sizes, and this 10.5 fits nicely.
Construction is pretty solid except on one shoe, the stitching was frayed at the ankle where the eyelet section is sewn on to the ankle cushion. Can't speak to the durability so the 'rating' is based on my experience with other pairs of Keens!
Keen also makes this same version in a casual cycling shoe (soles with cutouts for SPD cleats). I like these enough that I will be ordering a pair of those for cycling around town!

Keen Austins
I have had multiple pairs of Keens, but never the 'Austin' style. They do not disappoint in comfort, quality or style. Good shock absorption and support. Though my pair is relatively low on miles I expect the durability to be consistent with other pairs on Keens I have had which have been very solid. I look forward to getting another pair asap.

LOVE EM
I have purchased my fourth pair. I use them for hiking, casual and up on roofs and ladders estimating roofs for my crews. The soles are soft fro traction on the steep roofs. Great traction on rocks for hiking whether it is just trails or above the timer line. They run a little wide and that is fine with me.

I bought them just as dog-walking shoes, but I wear them all the time. They're so supportive on your entire foot. Super-comfortable. And stylish, too. My last pair of Keen shoes lasted forever, so I'm hoping these will as well.

Austin
I purchased the Keen Austin (potting soil color) after reading reviews. I received the shoes within a few business days after the purchase and was very pleased with the look /color of the shoes. This is my first pair of Keen shoes. I am on my feet about 50% of the time for work, in and outdoors. I have been wearing these shoes for about two weeks now. It took them about a week to get broke in-- not that they were uncomfortable at first, just much better now. They seem durable and have kept my feet warm so far in mild weather. I am very pleased with these shoes and would without hesitation make the purchase again.

Lives up to the Keen name
Another great pair of Keens. I think that makes 5 or 6 pair for me. The Austins are my second favorite so far. The Briggs2 seem to be a bit lower and softer around the collar. That said, these Austins are great looking, super light, and still extremely comfortable. Every pair of Keens I've bought has lasted for more than a year of daily wear. Well worth the money.

Have not taken them off!
Since arriving I have been wearing these non-stop. First off I only wear Keens & my original green pair were worn out (10 years old). I love these and it looks like Keen made the toe cap slightly smaller so they look a little less casual. I am on my feet all day & Keen's are the only way I survive.

Superbly Comfortable Shoe
I had foot surgery earlier this year and was a bit apprehensive about trying my first pair of Keen shoes. I was pleasantly surprised at their excellant fit and comfortortable firmness. They felt broken-in right out of the box. I have been walking considerable distances each day and have yet to feel either foot fatigue or tenderness. They feel just right with either a single sock or a medium bulk sock and liner. The quality of the construction appears to be equal or superior to the fine shoes that I usually wear, but at substantially less cost. I will be putting them to the test in Europe soon and I will be better able to comment regarding durability. To date, I am very well pleased with my purchase.

Very comfy!
Love their sandal? You'll love this shoe. Seems to run wide and I question the long term durability, but only time will tell that story. Had these for about a month and I really like them. Gave them a 4 star as I am not sure how they will hold up, but I am tough on shoes. They are a bit on the expensive side so I hope they do!

Love these shoes
I have a wide foot and Keens fit me well. I bought the Keen Briggs shoes and liked them and recently bought the Austin shoes and like the fit of them even better.

Comfortable and solidly built shoes.
Earlier this year I looked around for a set of multi-purpose shoes that I could wear daily but that would still be suitable for going out to dinner or going for a short hike. The Keen Austin seemed a good match with its solid leather construction and good looks.
Day to day use
These are the shoes I wear to work most days and they work as well with shorts as they do when dressed up more to meet with clients. I find them to be very comfortable to walk around in and have no problems with wearing them for the entire day. My only slight complaint is that on hot summer days they get a bit warm inside, but not enough to be an issue.
Hiking use
Originally I was planning for these to be city shoes that were only used for hiking on rare occasions. That has not turned out to be the case and these have seen a fair amount of trail use ranging from camping in the Sierras to hiking on lava in Hawaii. Overall they have held up well, though they do not look as nice as they did new, volcanic dust probably had a good bit to do with that. I do have a problem with edge of the rubber sole separating from the leather body on one shoe, which was caused by dragging my foot on a zipline.
Overall
These have been great shoes and have exceeded my expectations. I tend to be tough on shoes and these have held up well, especially since many times I've worn them when I should have probably switched to my hiking boots. My only complaint is that in this kind of "dual use" setup they get a bit beat up and don't look as nice around town, but the easy solution to that is to buy a second pair, which I'm doing today.

This is my third pair of Keens, very comfortable shoes. I used them mainly as a work shoe. Great to wear in a business casual or casual weekend setting. Looks great with a pair of jeans.

Excellent Shoes
These are one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I've bought in a while now. Some of the colors are a bit funny but the Woodbury is great if you don't like the orange stitching of the other colors. You won't be disappointed in this shoe. It's everything you'd expect from a quality footwear manufacturer like Keen. It does run a TAD wide though. Not a lot. I have narrow feet and they still work for me.

awesome shoe
1st pair I have bought of this style of KEEN. The shoe fit perfectly to my foot and felt awesome. There is no break in period for this shoe and it is comfort right out of the box. I will by another pair of these shoes. Craftsmenship looks awesome too. Heavy duty stitching and awesome tred for anti slipping. I work in a restaurant and am on my feet all day. My feet are not tired when I leave at the end of the day AWESOME SHOE

Great toe box
Very comfortable and they have even more toe room than regular keens and that's saying a lot. Believe it or not, somebody that I work with told me that they make my feet look smaller. LOL

Great shoes
Very comfortable and stylish. I wear them to work everyday. They are casual but look good with a pair of khakis. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a pair of comfortable shoes that you can wear to work in an office or classroom. I am a teacher and I walk around my classroom and school all day.

Great casual shoe!
The Austin is a great casual shoe for wear with jeans. It has the customary Keen fit that I like -- roomy in the toebox yet the shoe grips my heel nicely. With all of my Keens, I size up a half size over my dress shoe size.

Great looking Comfortable shoe

Very comfortable, questionable quality
Very comfortable, great arch support, good looking. However, the soles are not stitched and the glue started to separate after less than 2 months of use. And I mean use (in the office) and not abuse.

A very comfortable, stylish shoe
I thought the initial "look" of the shoe was weird but Now I really like them. They fit well so sizing seems to be accurate. They clean up with a damp cloth. The laces stay tied and I've gotten compliments. Overall, a really nice shoe. I now have three pairs and three colors!

Great Shoe
I wear a size 11 Nike Air Max sneakers and I got the size 10 in these Keens. They fit like a glove. The first time I wore them the top of the shoe dug into the front of my ankle but each time after that, the shoes have been perfect. Very light, good looking and comfortable.

Great Shoe
I work at a restaurant and the shoe is not only comfortable but it works well in a full service environment. The shoes fit perfectly and I expect that they should last a long time since I had one a few years ago that lasted for at least a year. Good to get back into another Keen.

Great Shoe
This is my second pair of Keen Austins. I have a brown pair that I have worn for a year, they are incredibly comfortable and are still in excellent shape. I ordered a pair of black ones from Altrec so I could wear them as part of casual business attire at work. Why shouldn't I have this comfort and home and work? Altrec was great and got these to me in NYC in about 3 days.

AMAZING SHOES
The Austin shoe was just as amazing as I had expected. I own several pair of Keen shoes/boots and love them all. They were comfortable right out of the box although they were a little stiff at first. Within a few days they softened up and they feel great. I wear either a 9 1/2 or 10 depending on the shoe--I ordered a 10 and they were perfect. You won't be disappointed, they are worth the cost!!!!!!!!!

Great shoe!
If you need a durable walking shoe with a wide toe and good cushioning in the sole, this is it. On my trip to Peru I used them for a 50 mile hike through the Andes and, despite being a low-cut shoe, they held up well and gave me adequate support. Although the Fit Tip says the shoes run large, I found this not to be true.

Keen comfortable
I have worn a variety of Keen sandals and shoes for years. The Austin is as supportive and comfortable as all the rest. True to size and supportive fit. I'll continue to buy Keens. Wish they were made in the USA.

The most comfortable shoe I have ever worn

Very comfortable. If you have narrow feet, you will need to remove all slack from the laces. But, after that, the shoes fits great.

Great for a wide foot
This is a very comfortable shoe if you happen to have a hard time finding a larger shoe to fit a wide foot. The extra space in the toe is just perfect. The shoes are well constructed and pretty stylish.
