The waterproof leather upper and moisture wicking synthetic lining of the Brooklyn Mid from Keen make this shoe great for getting around cold and damp cities. The semi-aggressive lugs on the anti slip, oil resistant outsole will hold you to the ground on those wet and windy urban days. This rugged shoe is ready for anything the city can throw at it but is also comfortable with camping and some light hiking. For life in the 'burbs and the occasional escape from it, the Brooklyn Mid will do the job.

Fit Tip: This boot tends to run a little large. I usually wear a 10.5 and a 10 fit great. The wide toe box is very nice and allows for a thicker sock.

Had wanted to buy a pair of Keen's for awhile and needed a new pair of boots while deployed in Afghanistan (issued pair not so good!). The Brooklyn's are fantastic boots, very water resistant, easy to clean up and comfortable. Do not realize they are on your feet after 14 hours and so great that I bought a second pair and sent them home for when I return from Afghanistan.

This is one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I have a wider foot in front and this one didn't squeeze my foot at all. I did replace the inner foot pad and instep with a better one only because I need more support than most in this area. With this modification or with the original fittings it is one shoe I can wear all day without discomfort. I have even taken some 5 mile hikes with total comfort and I weigh 270 pounds. I have been so impressed with the Brooklyn that I bought 4 pair, two black and two brown.

I sell a boat load of keen's through a nationally known [by its initials] recreational equipment store and, for the right foot, it is one of the best, most comfortable shoes you'll wear. If you have a high volume, wide toe box foot, this is your shoe...this is your footwear company. Keen is notorious for having a good insole--a good heel and a good arch support. Beware that they tend to run small so most people will need to buy a half size larger. One in 100 wear their usual size...or smaller. Safest bet is get a 1/2 size bigger, though.

I purchased my first pair 1 1/2 years ago and wear them about 4-5 days a week in the fall, winter, and spring. The footbed died but with a superfeet replacement, things are just fine! They have never leaked here in the Pacific Northwest, and they really have never stunk. I am a bike commuter and they work well with pedals (even if the toe is a bit wide)if you are just cruising around town for a few miles. The bumper toe has not come loose, and the sole is finally starting to show some holes, but I predict that there is life after holes with these boots! My shoe repair store says they may be able to resole them with something different, so it could be interesting to see, but since these have been discontinued by KEEN, I am purchasing a back-up pair in case that resole turns disaster!

I am a big fan of Keen (have purchased numerous styles/types over the years), and the Keen Men's Brooklyn mid boot is a nice addition to my collection! They are very comfortable and go very well with casual dress. I have also purchased from Altrec in the past in they always deliver!

All I will wear now are keen shoes. Beyond their unique styling, these boots and the other Keen footwear that I own are comfortable and durable. As someone who has arch and tendon problems in my legs, I need well formed footbeds and arch support. Keen footwear apparently takes such orthopedic issues in mind when making shoes. I cannot say enough good things about these boots in particular and Keen in general. Also, Altrec is great!

This is my second pair of these comfy shoes and third pair of Keens. What I like most is the squarish toe, (Duck Feet) it gives you wiggle room. very minimal fluff inside, feels like a Chuck Taylor all star in leather. I agree with Kevin this second pair fits looser than the first. These were more oiled than the first so maybe the first had dried more? The soles on first pair lasted one year of heavy use on concrete and a 200# me before the squish was flattened by half. I plan on buying the keen squaliamine next.

These are my first pair of Keens. I gave them a try based on recommendations from a friend. The boots are very comfortable. They felt great right out of the box and have only gotten more comfortable over the week I've had them. I normally wear size 12, but I had to go with a 13 in the Keens. The wide toe box is very nice and allows for a thicker sock. I'm very pleased and will be adding more Keen shoes to my wardrobe.

If you want a boot that is lightweight,comfortable and nice looking this could be it. I wear a size 12 1/2 and the keen is the only shoe that consistently fits extremely well in a 12. Roomy in the toes and supportive it makes for a great light hiking or work boot.

My husband is a contractor and this boot is the only one he wears. They make his feet and ankles feel good as he goes through the day. I bought them from Altrec.com because they were the cheapest place on the internet. I actually bought 2 pairs and they came so fast! I will do more business with this site because they are efficient at high tech but also have the high touch element that if you need to talk to a person they are available. Thanks Altrec!

I work in a meat processing plant as an occupational health nurse; these boots/shoes are awesome. I hope keen reads these, because this boot withstands pork blood,grease and water mixed on the floor, no slipping, souls have lasted well, 6 months old, 1/2 worn out. I've grown to love how Keen shoes and sandals fit--generous toe box, well-fitted in ankle and mid-foot, and the Brooklyn Mid is consistent with my experience. The shoe is lighter and more flexible than other mid-boots I've tried, and covers my ankles (important where I live due to cold winds) without restricting my ankle movement much at all. I'm very happy with them. (Size of boots is consistent with Keen lace-up shoes and sandals, but different than Keen pull-on boots. Feels like same or very similar last as Bronx.)

These boots are great for almost all conditions. leather and then so light ! The inner sole, I think it is gel, seemed to flow away at the ball of the foot leaving just the rubber sole between the balls of my feet and the road. I could feel every little pebble. I did walk about 900 km with them and ended up with the balls of my feet swelling up from the continuous impact.

A pair of Keen sandals have served me well over two summers so I decided to give their boots a try. I ordered a pair of black Brooklyn Mids online without issue from Altrec.com. I didn't even have to try the boots on because I knew they'd fit my size 13 wide feet. With the large foot bed I don't have to worry about blisters or pinching whether the miles are in a creek bed or muddy Michigan snow. Thank you Keen for making footwear that fits.

This is my second pair of Keen Brooklyn's and I will still rate them 5 stars despite the fact that I wore the soles paper thin in 6 months on pair #1. It could be that I liked them too much and wore them everyday or maybe Keen could make the treads more durable without downgrading the comfort. I will keep you updated after pair #3.

I am on my third pair of Keen Boots. They are very light weight for the support they offer. I am in mine for 12 to 14 hours per day and find they really are comfortable. I have had problems buying them at the local shoe store any more and am now ordering two pair in case Keen stops making or distributing them. I have been alternating between the last two pair for the past six months and have worn them out. The first pair I had for almost two years. Not much left of them. One pair is a size 10.5 and the other is size 11. I would guess each pair fit differently. They do break in well though. The toe bumper sometimes need to be re-glued. Great boot.

This mid ankle boot is light and comfortable with space in the toe box and a good insole pad. The hieght is perfect and there is no problem with fit around the ankle as with many mid high boots. I use them to work in and am on my feet all day. Only complaint is minor squeek in the heel.

I bought these boots for my husband. He was very satisfied with the room in the toe of the boot. He doesn't have really wide feet but his toes are "boxy" or kinda square and he noticed how they didn't feel squeezed in these boots like most other ones he's worn. I plan to buy some next for myself!

My first pair of Keens were the Bronx, which is the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned out of the box for my wide feet. These Brooklyn Mids are very light and have the same comfortable footbed, but take a little breaking in. After that they are equally comfortable. I like the ankle support of the Mids, and am considering taking these as my only walking shoes on a 7 week trip to Europe. I usually am very eager to take my shoes off once I get home, but not with the Keens! Most shoes seem too pointy for foot shape, but the Keens are perfect. These Brooklyns are great for walking and light hiking, but not really a backpacking boot. These mids work very well with a good pair of midweight Coolmax sox. Also, shopping at Altrec was great. I had trouble finding my size (13), but Altrec had it and the shipping was very fast. I would be happy buying only Keens and only from Altrec in the future.

The Brooklyn Mid is a very comfortable shoe, and I like the look as well. I have had mine for three days now, and I will definitely buy Keen again. Some reviews here and elsewhere recommended getting a half size larger than your normal size, and they are right. I always wear 8.5, but the Keen shoe fit me much better in 9.0.

There are comfy out of the box, the 28 mile trip up Eagle Creek and back put them to the test. The first 5 miles were comfy, but the sweat formed the leather to my feet. The open toe box is wonderful for my wide foot. I normally wear an 11, but Keens run a bit larger, so a 10.5 was just right. What a great shoe.

Good walking/casual boot, especially for spring-fall weather. Comfortable and light. Nice looking. Good tread on wet. Not the easiest boot to get on your foot. I probably wouldn't wear this boot for hiking--I would go for a stronger boot such as Danner.

I love the comfort of these boots. This is my second pair and this new pair fits different from the first. These boots are larger then the first pair. I would order a half size smaller, where the last pair I ordered a half size larger. There is some inconsistancy with their manufacturing but still a great boot.

That means, I really love Keen shoes, but as great looking and sturdy as these are they are not as comfortable as I had hoped. The issue I think is that there is a some heavy sticking under the lacings that creates some discomfort on my instep. But I have a high instep and this probably isn't a problem for most people. But I still wear them regularly and I'm hoping they'll break in so that I love them as my other Keens. I'd recommend.

The shoe is a little large for stated size. It has plenty of toe box room. Heavy socks fill in the extra space nicely. good grip on the sole and firm toe block. It is my first pair of Keens, likely not my last.

The shoe is very comfortable to stand and walk in, but the Achilles notch is a little tall, rubbing the back of your ankle when you sit. The stiff sole is very supportive, but a little loud when walking.

they seem stiff, and though leather lined the interior structure is rubbing my ankles and making blisters.

Maybe they switched manufacturers for their soles, but after wearing them maybe 3 times a week the soles are worn out. Altrec has offered to replace them (which I think is amazing customer service by the way) so I might try another pair.

They are more like new high top converse than boots. They are fine if you don't work in them. If you have a habit of kicking things these shoes will break that habit FAST. Yes, I have a habit of kicking things.
