Excellent All around
Whether you are heading on a hike or down to the beach these sandals are terrific. They are truly the 'utility' summer shoe. Comfortable fit and made very well - I'm on my second pair, got the leather ones this time and am suprised at how well it holds up.

Great for whole family, multipurpose
Everyone in our family has a pair of these and we wear them at the playground, for walks, easy hikes, etc. They are great for warm, rainy weather too. Love the protected toes. Now we have many other styles of Keens too.

Great, sturdy sandal
The "Fit Tip" on the description says it runs true to size, but I found a 10.5 fits me perfectly when my usual size is a 10. My feet are wide at the toes but the laces can be adjusted and there is no problem with the fit. I wore them frequently throughout the summer and they are durable and comfortable. I wish they were cheaper, but not sorry I bought them.

The only closed toe sandal I'll ever buy
These sandals are amazingly comfortable. I haven't been able to use sandals due to plantar fasciitis issues with my feet. (not sure if I spelled it right). I've been stuck with having to buy shoes which will work with my insoles. However, I've worn these every single day since I bought them last month. I don't need to wear my insoles with these sandals. They provide the perfect amount of support. I was so pleased with the keens that I purchased another pair. They are durable, very comfortable and as a bonus..they look great with jeans. I've seen reviews about them causing feet to smell bad. I have not had that issue at all. I'm waiting for a sale and I will purchase a third pair. Don't hesitate, buy a pair and you'll see why they're sold out most of the time.

Best Sandal on the Market
While I love Keen Newport Sandals, the one complaint I have, and it is not a huge complaint, is the lacing system they provide. The sandals last a long time, but the laces wear out, get stretched out, and generally fail to work well over time. And the only way I've figured out how to get replacements is to write to Keen and have them send me some. Then I have to figure out how to re-lace the sandals, which I still have yet to get it looking 100% correct.
Other than that the sandals offer great protection and support to my feet. I wear them year round except when it snows. Overall I think they are the best - I just wish they had a more durable system for lacing them up.

A Definite Buy
This product is worth every penny. My husband loves them, they are very comfortable. True to size. and cover his toes. They look nice, so they can be worn in many situations. I will purchase more of this type.

Great sandal
my husband wore out his first pair after 3 years of constant use.
He only wanted this sandal in this specific color.
He had to break them in a bit, but now they are great!

Average shoe
Not as comfortable as advertised Tight fit in instep.
I dont like the tight fit on the instep, they are a little stiff yet, maybe after a while they will will loosen up .

Men's Newport Sandal
After reading all the other great reviews is decided to give them a try, I was looking for something that I could wear all summer that had more protection than a normal sandal. They are easy to get on and off and it's not necessary to tighten the bungee laces for that relaxed feel, then just tighten them up and run through the river bottom. Order half size larger than normal for optimal fit and snug comfort. Really great summer Shoe/Sandal. Try to get them on sale or just order something cheap on Altrec and they will send you a 20% off for your review and then buy the Sandals. In fact, they will eventually send you a 15% off your next purchase after every review...

Keen's are great shoes
Love these sandals that are water shoes, hiking shoes and can even be worn in winter with socks. They feel good. We buy Keens for all members of the family ... they last forever, so well made. And this is the best place to see the most styles.

Most Comfortable Hiking Sandals
The best thing about them is that they "disappear" on your feet.You just stop thinking about foot support or stability on uneven terrain.I wore these non-stop for almost 3 days but other than getting slightly sweaty feet on a 100 degree day, I have no complains about them.

Incredibly comfortable sandal
I purchased this Keen sandal based on the recommendation of a friend. I love the dark green color and I am impressed that, after wearing them yesterday all day walking around a major city, they do not have any scruff marks. I also cannot believe how comfortable they are - it like wearing slippers.

Nice shoes!!!
These shoes are super comfortable, but seem to run a little bit small. I had to return them for a half-size larger. Great Keen quality. The foot bed is soft & conforms nicely to my feet. Will definitely be my daily summer shoe!!

Good looking support
I purchased these sandals for my husband who has worn Birkenstock sandals for the last 18 years. He was pleased with these lightweight supportive sandals that look way cooler than the Birk's. He also likes that they do not make his feet sweat. They were more narrow than his old sandals, but not uncomfortable. A great purchase.

Very nice
Worked out great for keeping cool in warmer tempitures and protecting my feet. They also have been very durable. I have used them camping, trips overseas and around town.

More than just a sandal
This is my second pair of Newport sandals. Found them on sale so I had to get them to replace my first pair. These are generally more expensive than many sandals, but worth it. I use these for beach, hiking trails, every day wear in the summer. Have taken them on vacation to Puerto Rico hiking in El Yunque Rainforest and exploring the beaches and reefs. I have had my first pair for 4 years and there is still plenty of life left in them. My eyes have been open to the joys of Keen.

LOVE these shoes
I bought these as a gift for my husband. I have a women's version and I LOVE them. The toe bumper offers great protection on hikes. I like to bring these when I backpack to change out of my hiking boots when I get to camp. It's nice to be able to air out my tootsies after a long day. I used to bring lighter weight flip flops but ditched those for these because my Keen sandals offer more protection and stability. It's worth carrying a little extra weight in my opinion. They look decent for everyday use too and are great for trips in warm climate where you do a lot of walking. My husband is looking forward to putting them to the test once the weather gets better in our area.

Great Sandal
This sandal is good looking, durable, and extremely comfortable. This is my second pair. I strongly recommend them for most anyone. It is great how the toes are protected yet in comfort. They are usable the whole year.

Keen Newport Mens
This is the second pair of Keen Newports I've bought. The first pair I used on my sailboat as boat deck shoes for the past 6 years, and now that I have purchased a new pair that will take their place on the boat, the older ones will be used for walking on shore. These shoes provide protection for the toes from stubbing and are incredibly secure on wet and dry decks. Cannot imagine a better moderate to warm temperature boat shoe than these. Will continue to buy them as long as Keen makes them and if I ever wear out the ones I have!

Good with a Few Limitations
Love these and almost all Keens for the bomber construction, funky cool looks, and wide toe box that - finally - means my toes are getting smashed laterally after a long, foot-swelling day of hiking or wading.
The leather and rubber are super sturdy, almost impossible to destroy, and surprisingly supposrtive, comfortable and grippy for hiking.
My only complaints are: (1) that the leather takes FOREVER to dry, which can lead to blisters or an awkward "slippery" feeling on wading days, and (2) the spacing between the leather panels is too tight - big enough to let a lot of debris in, but too small to easily let it back out (I know, it sounds like it defies physics but that's what seems to happen). I find myself frequently removing the sandals to clear out the trail crud that's being trapped like sandpaper between the leather panels and my skin. This is more than a minor complaint - it's inconvenient and can cause wickedly painful blisters - but it's not unique to the Keens. Any sandals generate this problem to some extent, but the design of these seems to exacerbate it.
That being said, I still love them. Great, comfortable summer shoes. Just be patient with them on really cruddy, dusty, or wet hikes. But as daily wear gear, they're hard to beat.

Great shoe
This is an excellent shoe for light summer hiking and even some occasional river wading. I've had my pair for several months and love them more each day. The break-in period was several days, during which it rubbed one of my toes and the sole seemed to stick to my feet. Now they are cool, comfortable, very solid and durable, and have quickly become my favorite summer shoes. To me, they feel like very well ventilated light hiking shoes. The only con I've found is that little rocks can get inside, but because of the closed toe, they don't work their way back out again.

A rad alternative to
Let me start by asking, how often does footwear feel good out of the box? Rare, is usually the response. Totally not the case with these. Fit like the sandals I've been packing around for the last 6 years that are now trashed. So to test how well they would perform I decided to go on a small hike, my hike turned into a run\scrabble\hike. I ended up climbing 2000 feet and covered almost 5 miles of rocky logging roads to the summit of Crystal Mountain. the Keen's felt great the whole way, I could have been wearing my boots and had more trouble. I love them despite how they look.. I can not say as for long term use, but its been a month and they're still out performing my trail runners and any "sandal"

2nd pair
This is my second pair; I love them! The first pair I have purchased four years ago and still use them, but I needed something that was a little less "broken in" looking. These are no wing tips, but do very well for lawn seats at a local jazz concert. I would highly recommend them for anyone who does not already own a pair of these sandals. Order a half size larger as with all Keens they run a bit small.

Comfortable Sandle

Absolute Comfort
My wife and son had a pair, so I had to get a pair. I cannot be happier with them. Not only are the comfortable, but they look good both on the beach or casually with jeans.

Great shoe, terrible color
Bought this shoe for my husband twice once in charcoal and once in gargoyle, thinking they would be gray, NOT! The gray is a funky green color on both shoes and is nothing similar to picture on website. He loved the shoe & fit (it runs 1/2 size small) but, color not acceptable. Had to return both pairs. This will not deter us from another purchase, just not the years colors.

tough and versatile
I bought these sandals a couple days before leaving for back-to-back vacations. When I first put them on, they were a bit stiffer than I'd anticipated. It took a day or so for my feet to adjust. From then on, they've been very comfortable. I wore them around Chicago for several days of site-seeing. They're supportive enough for hiking and aesthetically appropriate for a broad range of activities (at least for someone with my rather casual sensibilities).

Very Comfortable, tough to put on
I have a pair of Keens that I've loved for years, but are wearing out, so I searched for another pair. These were the closest I could find. While they are very comfortable, and I could see even hiking less demanding trails with them, they are a pain to put on. My old ones could be slipped into without any effort. Oh well.

Excellent design and true to size
Was very impressed by the quality of the Sandal and comfort of the fit. I have high arches and they presented no problem. Only issue was the color...I ordered Charcoal and "Mold Green" which I returned for another color. Can't wait to get them back! : )

First pair, more to follow
Got my first pair of these comfortable sandals. They are stylish, have very good arch support and feel true to the size. Got also a pair for my wife and she loves them too. Great for beach hikes and occasionally wet feet, but would not use them on a raft trip (leather in and out). Overall great sandals worth the money.

Great in water
The sandals are great for water. Dries quickly, doesn't slip on smooth surfaces. Only gripe is that they make my feet look larger than they are. But comfort trumps all.

third pair in 6 years
I tend to wear them a lot for work. I'm a window washer, and these sandals are perfect for long days on your feet, with lots of support and a surefooted feel. Never slippery, never sloppy, never sweaty, never hot. This year I went for H2's so we will see how they stack up. Watch out if you order Newport in charcoal, because the ones I returned were actually a weird dark green.

A good all around sandal
I am always in the market for a sandal that can be worn from the mountains to the sea and all points in between. The KEEN Newport is my first choice to date! I just purchased my second pair as a backup. The toe protection is necessary for rocky trails and for the beach as well. I wasn't sure of the comfort at first, but after two days wear my feet settled right in. The KEEN Newport is a good standard for my feet.

Always comfortable
From day one this sandal is comfortable. I had no break in time at all. Which was good because i got them before a rafting trip and no problem at all. I get questioned about them all the time. Another great Keen product.

These Keens Rock!!!
My family has been trying to talk me into trying Keens for more than two years. I finally gave in last summer and tried them. First, I found them great for wear as sandals in the warm weather. The soles are high enough that I can wear them in the yard for light maintenance chores and for just hanging out. (I haven't yet had a chance to use them for kayaking, but my wife has and highly recommends them for water sports.) But, better yet, when it got cold I tried them out with a pair of merino woll blend socks as slippers. Not being a slipper kind of guy, I have found this to be ideal. Your feet stay warm, but you can go out to collect the mail or get wood from the woodpile with no wories about trashing your 'slippers'. Plus they are easy to kick off if you are chillin' on th couch. My wife also loves them for air travel because of the easy on - easy off feature.

Almost live in these
I almost live in these. Seriously, minus work and sleep. I confuse people because I'm either in heavy work boots or my Keens. Great on the water, chasing the dog or just lounging. Very durable..

The best shoe of its type ever made!
I just purchased my second pair of H2s. My old pair is 4.5 years old and they are still usuable. I work as a field botanist for the state of Florida, and I've had these shoes in every type of habitat you want - or don't want - to see. They've hiked the Rockies, the Smokies, the wetlands and sandhills of Florida, walked across reefs on a way to a surf break, and I wore them 5 days a week at work! The most care I gave them was a good rinsing off when dirty. The service at Great Outdoors was seamless - great job, and a great price!

Great shoes
This is my second pair of Keen Newport sandals. Just about 2 years ago I purchased my first pair (Bison)on the recommendation of my Doctor. It literally is the only pair of shoes that I have worn for 2 years - every occasion (except mowing the lawn and working concrete). I have a problem with plantar fasciatis (sp?) and the Keen's just work for me - no more pain in the morning. Finally after two years of constant use one of the leather straps broke on my old pair. I'm going to try and get it repaired because every thing else about the shoe is still perfect - including the sole. I have even spent a lot of time with my sandaled feet in the water (American and Russian Rivers). Yes, these shoes really are waterproof. So now I have my second pair (from Altrec - charcoal - at a much lower price) and I am having the same great experience all over again. The shoes look great, are extremely comfortable (with or without socks) and have a wider toe area than most shoes (which I need). So yeah - I guess that I like these shoes.

Everything I was told was true! :)
Keen was recommended to me by a friend who had them recommended by an orthopedist. They are both comfortable and rugged. They handle smooth and rough wonderfully. I've become a real skeptic about footwear not named Jonhston & Murphy or New Balance, but Keen is great too!

I'm going to be buried in these
I've been through so many types of sandals and all-terrain shoes. My Tevas were, I thought, the ultimate, but having already trekked through a few nearby rivers and up one pretty solid hill/mountain after 3 days of owning these, I am convinced that I'll be troubled taking these off! Keen Fisherman Sandals
These are very comfortable and well made. My previous pair lasted two years and were always very comfortable--a great change of pace for long trips. One bonus is that the new version of the sandal is washable.

Love these shoes
My husband has been a die hard Teva fan for a decade or longer. I finally bought him these shoes and he said he's now found the perfect outdoor shoe. He lived in the Teva Dozer for the past two years and says these are so much more comfortable. They are true to size but do require a little break in time. We have loved everything we've ever bought from Keen (from kids to adults)

Wet, Dry, Hot - Great Sandal for Active Wear
Excellent sandals; wider-than-normal; dries quickly if/when it gets wet. Lacing works good--nice and snug. I have not done any uphill rock climbing with these, but in all other areas, the cushion and grip are above-average.
