Excellent Shoe
This is a fantastic shoe. Very comfortable and it's the only pair I have that doesn't make my feet hurt. They are such a great shoe, I'm buying another pair. The only set back is they aren't German Shepherd teeth resistant, hence the new pair.

Mens Keen Targhee mid
After having these in women's models for the past three years and loving them, I convinced my husband to try a pair. He absolutely loves them. Good fit, wide toe box, comfortable, good traction in snow and comfortable. What more could you ask for? Another convert for Keen Targhee mid boots! ( They do run about a half size small, so take that into consideration when ordering)

loved this
Boots were purchased as a gift and i have enjoyed themvery much. They are waterproof and lightweight. The shank offers great support for rough terrain when hiking. Overall this is a great brand and a great shoe!

This shoe fits 1/2 size small. I am 5.11 and weigh 175 pounds and U usually wear men's size 10 but the keens size 10 1/2 fit just about right. These are very comfortable shoes just like my other ASLO FX backpacking shoes I used to wear before.

Most comfortable boots ever
I purchased the Targee II Mid hight boots last January and have worn them for work just about every day since. This is my forth consecutive pair of Keens and I've liked all of them. They are simply the most comforable rugged waterproof boots I've ever worn. I'm getting ready to buy a new pair. That is the down side, they do wear out quick, but when you wear them every day, I guess that is expected. My older pairs of Keens were even better than the new ones with the Keen Dry system, but they both keep your feet dry. It just seems the older Dry system breathed a little better.

Nice Boot
Light weight, supportive boot. Comfortable right out of the box. Breathes well and lining keeps feet dry. Ordered same size I normally wear in other boots (ll.5), and they were a little snug with thick winter weight wool socks, but not bad (I have extra wide feet). Some might consider ordering up half size if you're prone to foot swelling on long hikes. I liked the secure fit and feel of the heel lacing that kept my foot in place without any sliding or rubbing. I'm planning on using these for every day use and day hiking.

Great boots, fit true to size. Very comfortable. Very lightweight yet durable. Kept my feet warm on even the coldest days. I am very impressed with Altrec's service & prompt shipping.

Nice boot order half to one size larger
FIrst experience was a very technical hike in western North carolina; about 10 miles the boot performed very well, light wieght water proof technically sound; only problem , it was 1/2 a size too small. I usually wear 10.5 to 11 depending on shoe so I ordered 11. ended up with bruised toes. toe box is relatively small sent the used pair back and ordered 11.5 that fit ok; no worry returns awesome feature.

keen boots
These keen boots fit to your normal sizes. Normal size 10.5 and ordered the same. They feel broken in the first time you put them on your feet. They came as "dry" and unlike many other dry but not gore-tex brands, these boots hold up to their boast by keeping my feet dry in a dew covered morning stroll through the grass. I loved them the first day I wore them and would recommend them to all. i really like the front wrap around toe guard and i plan on disc-golfing in these boots all winter long. Thanks, another repeat customer.

Men's Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot Review
This is the third pair of Targhee's that I have owned. I absolutely love the fit and feel of the boot. I wear them daily for office/field work/walks on pavement and they feel great. My only complaint is that the sole is soft; thus, it wears fairly quickly. The leather also wears somewhat quickly. If you weart the boot daily and don't mind purchasing annually, this is a great mid ankle boot.

Peachy Keen
I really like Keen's big toed designs, they offer roomy comfort
for my stinky pinkies. My other Keen's are high top water shoes,
my favorite. It's too early to tell if these are truly waterproof but I am happy with the construction, details and color. We'll see how they hold up!

The Best Hiking boot ever!
I have two pairs of these and I bought these for my husband. He loves them. I wear them everywhere because they are so comfortable right out of the box, they are warm, waterproof, and I have travelled to Scotland & Yellowstone with these. They are so lightweight! The only thing wierd with Keen's is there inconsistancy in sizing. In a work shoe my husband wears a 9.5, In the winter boots he wears a 10 and in these he wears a 10.5. Although I am a straight 6.5 across the board with all Keens and I have many different styles. My mom normally wears a 7 in all shoes but in these she wears an 8.5 so you may have to try them on somewhere and then but them from Altrec because you can't beat their prices. Or they have a pretty easy return policy I just wish they let you print off prepaid labels.

Great Work Shoes
I live in Michigan and bought these shoes for work. The fall and spring can get very wet here and the shoes amazingly kept my feet perfectly dry. The Keen dry system is no joke. I was using a power washer to clean a house and would at times be spraying directly on the shoes and my feet never got wet. Very comfortable, even when I had to be on my feet all day. Love this shoe. I will never buy a different shoe to work in. One issue was the durability of the shoe. It lasted a little over a year and then started to rip apart at the seems and the sole wore out significantly. A bit of a concern for the price of the shoe.

Get it right the first time!!!!
I live in the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Durango, Colorado. The majority of my free time is spent fly-fishing and bowhunting. Most of my life I have just worn bulky hunting boots for my backpacking or trekking up and down the mountains during hunting season. This year I decided to try out some light-weight hiking boots...my first pair of hiking boots ever. After much research, and talking to avid hikers here in Durango, I decided to purchase the Keen Targhee II Mid Hiking Boots. Right out of the box these boots are crazy comfortable! There was almost no break-in period for these boots. I've spent the last 3 weekends hiking for hours in the mountains in almost every kind of terrain and weather (rocky, grassy, steep, flat, dry, muddy, rainy, hot, cold) and these boots are awesome! They're so light that I could easily tell a difference in how they increased my stamina over using heavy hunting boots, and they are so comfortable that my feet (and my back, most importantly!) felt great even after hours of non-stop walking. If you are looking for a pair of awesome hiking boots, then buy these and you will GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!!!

They felt great right out of the box
I have two pairs of Targhee II Hiking Boots. A pair of Low tops for work. A pair of Mid high for weekend hiking and back packing trips. I need a wider fit in the toes and a good solid arch support. The Targhee has both. I wear a size 10 in most shoes as well as the Targhee so I would say they don't run big or small. Both the mid and low height shoes have the same frame and same fit. This made it great for buying the second pair. I would recommend them to others.

The Only Boot My Husband Wears!
My husband has a lawn care service and his boots have to be able to take daily exposure to wet grass and provide stability when weed-eating banks and rough terrain. He has tried several other well-known brands and was unsatisfied with either the comfort or the ability of the boot to hold up under his working conditions. I ran across the Keen Targhee II and he has used them ever since. He loves the out of the box comfort of the boot. They have a wide toe box, are a perfect height, and keep his feet dry. They also have laces that lock in at the top and never loosen or have to be re-adjusted during the workday. I can attest to their comfort as I bought myself a pair too. Buy them; you won't regret it.
August 7, 2011
I wore these for a week in Glacier National Park and they provided me with amazing support and comfort, this boot can take abuse! For anyone looking for a reliable boot that can keep your feet dry and well supported this is the boot for you.

Long-time Targhee II Mid Tredder
I have had several pairs of Targhee II Mid Hiking Boots, which have kept my feet happy for many years now. The extra roominess in the toe area is my favorite part. Before I discovered Keen Footwear, I regularly got sores under the inside of my big toenails from the inward pressure most shoes put on one's toes. But after about a month or two of wearing Keens, my toe problem cleared up and has not returned! What a relief!
The two loops on each boot tend to catch my pant legs and prevent them from hanging freely, so I just cut them off as soon as I get a new pair. I then gently melt the ends of the cuts to stop them from getting frayed. It takes only a couple of minutes and has not caused me any problems so far (and I can't imagine how it could). But that's only my personal preference. I'm sure others really like and/or need the loops.
The laces tend to wear out before the boots do, but this could probably be avoided by periodically relocating the laces in relation to the eyelets. (Now that I've written that tip, I'd better make sure I do it with my next pair!)
They do not resole very gracefully (I tried it with one pair by having a patch put over the worn spot), but it nevertheless it can be done. Have your shoe repairer try to match the texture of the original sole for the best results.
I also own a pair each of the Keen Voyageur and Oregon PCT and am pleased with both of them. No "break in" period was needed for any of the three models mentioned here.
If I sound like a loyal Keen customer, it's because I am.

Phenomenal!
Great boots, fit true to size. Very comfortable, didn't feel that they needed a break-in period prior to heavy use. Very lightweight yet durable. Kept my feet warm on even the coldest of Wisconsin's winter days.
June 8, 2011
suhwheeet!
Great boot, very light, durable, comfortable, waterproof! Only have had them for a few weeks, so I don't know about durability yet....what else can you ask for? I'll buy Keen again...no doubt!

Great Boots
Run true to size. No break in period required at all. I have hiked several 14ers in them and have never gotten a blister. One hike was 15+ miles in a day with lots of elevation gain. These are great boots, even carrying loads of 40+ pounds. When this pair wears out I will be buying then again. I would highly recommend them.

Great Hiking Boots
These boots are great. They are light weight and very comfortable out of the box. They grip the trail and rock well in all conditions. Would highly recommend these to anyone. The fit is true to size.
May 8, 2011
Low heel height
I bought these as a gift for my father, along with 2 other light/mid hiking boots. They appeared to have the classic Keen strong toe protection, but when he tried them on, the heel height was noticeably lower. They also seemed wide (though my father has admittedly narrow feet). I think they are a solid boot in terms of tread and toe protection, but if you want more ankle support, look elsewhere.
May 2, 2011
Great light hiker
The upper is solid, made of durable nylon and leather. Looks very sharp on the foot.
The midsole is very comfortable, with a decent nylon shank to reduce impact on the foot with excellent flexibility.
Love the keen rounded toe-box for squared off toes like mine.
Overall width is medium, with a medium heel and wider toe-box. Good for low to medium volume feet, but low volume in toes. This is NOT a wide boot, but people with wide feet might wear it well if they size up.
I have low volume feet but still felt the need to size up half a size. After measuring the inside of the boot, it is no shorter than any other shoe - however, this is because the toe of the boot extends a little beyond the footbed. There isn't much room at the tip, so most people will probably feel more comfortable with a half-size up. This may make it a little loose in the heel/ankle for some, but the boot can be cinched down pretty tight over the foot.
The boot is very waterproof, but breathes poorly and is hotter than average.
The lugs are soft and grip well on gravel paths but wear down fast, especially if using on concrete surfaces. The larger lugs don't bite well on wet slick surfaces like ice or wet wood.
Overall an excellent light hiker good for dayhikes with light loads. Not recommended for backpacking, as it isn't supportive enough for heavy loads.
May 2, 2011
Comfortable and lightweight
Very comfortable boot and not as heavy as I anticipated for a waterproof boot. Easy on and off with laces that stay tight rather than slipping like my other boots.

Comfy hicking boots or winter walking boots
They, like most keen boots are extremely comfortable right out of the box. They don't require any breakin. Husband used these to walk the dogs all winter and they worked great. The only issue with them is that the top of the show the laeces are looped through fabric holes instead of a metal eye to secure the laces. I see long term durability issues with this design. If they made these metal it would be a 5 star product.

Now my husband loves them too!
I am a huge keen targhee fan and now I've got my husband hooked too! He usually takes a 10.5 or 11.0 in other shoes, but he actually takes a 12 in this shoe. The last pair of keen targhees he tried were an 11.5, but he found that his toes on one foot were getting cold in the winter. The size 12 doesn't look any bigger, but seems to give him that little bit extra room that he needs. He has VERY wide feet but find that these fit well. He loves that they are comfy right out of the box. Just the best shoes!
March 26, 2011
EXCELLENT BOOT
This is the second pair of Targhee II mid boots that I own. I have a high arch and these shoes fit very well. Lots of toe space. I do feel that they run about a half size small. The keen dry works very well. I'm sure I will purchase another pair. I have nothing negitive to say about the shoes, and believe me if I did you would here about it.
March 22, 2011
Great shoe!
These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had! They felt great out of the box and there was no need for a break in period. Went through a 17 mile hike in these and they were great! If they didn't look so much like hiking boots, I'd wear these all the time.
March 10, 2011
Great shoe so far
I have had 3 pairs of keens now and these seem to follow the Keen tradition in comfort and foot protection. I bought them because I needed a boot to keep snow from getting into my shoes. For the most part its worked pretty well. Did a 2 hour hike in 2 feet deep snow and only got a minimal amount of snow in. However, it should be noted that I used gaiters that were part of my ski pants as extra security.
For every day wear around town even after fresh snow fall, its been a great boot too. I haven't noticed any issues with the non-water-proofness that other reviews have mentioned but then again I haven't really put it into water. Seems to hold up well in moderate rain and snow though.
About the sizing: I actually did go up one half size for this. I was able to try on an 8 (which I wear in all my other keen shoes) and 8.5 and ultimately the 8.5s did feel better.
March 8, 2011
Targhee - funny name!
These are very comfortable boots for light hiking and winter use. I'm normally a size 10.5 and had to get an 11 in these boots. I don't know if this is a consistent size difference for all. I have other Keen shoes and the sizing is all over the place. Keens are truly a shoe you must try on for correct size.
I'm very happy with these shoes.

Right out of the box win!
I do not usually come back and write reviews but in this case I felt I should for the Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot. I must say the other reviews on this site for the Targhee were great and helped me with the sizing. A few of the reviews said to "Half" size up which I did. I'm 5'10 205lbs usually a size 9 shoe but ordered the 9.5 This was a good call. Right out of the box the boot is comfortable like it's been worn in already excellent support and do not feel clunky. I live in the North East US and have been using these for mostly city walking through snow and ice. These boots keep my feet dry and warm. The design and engineering of this boot is very cool.

Sweet boots
These are my first Keen boots or shoes, and I'm liking them. The fit and finish of these boots is what I would expect from a boot of this caliber. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

Amazing Boots
I have a collection of Targhee II low and mid high.
I wear them every day.
They are the only shoes that fit my feet perfectly.
I walk about 3 miles every day.
They are light weight and waterproof.
They last far longer than the Merrels I used to wear.
I can't say enough.

My son LOVED it!
My twelve year old son who outgrows his shoes every 6 months always look forward to his next pair. This new pair arrived today, as promised by Altrec, and everything is to his satisfaction! Our first time to buy a pair of Keen shoes - my husband is so envious that he's thinking of getting himself a pair of Keen!
February 19, 2011
keen targhee II mid
If you have wide feet, then this is your shoe. A lot like the voyaguer, but water proof. I think i like this better. perfect for day hikes, maybe for an over-nighter or two. But more made for just a day hike.
February 18, 2011
Great traction
Couldn't wait to try these out. Took the dog out hiking in the snow and ice and was very pleased with how I could climb up icy inclines without slipping. Great tread. Comfortable right out of the box as usual with Keens. I also like the lacing lock at the top of the ankle. If the laces come loose, the shoe still remains snug. Great product.
February 16, 2011
Great shoe!
This is the third pair I got for my husband. He lives in them, daily wear. These shoes take a lot of abuse, through mud, rain, and all the elements. A great shoe!
February 11, 2011
Great Overall Boot
I purchased this boot after alot of research for a everyday hiker/all weather boot.
I have had it for a couple of weeks and right out of the box was very comfortable.
The insulation is great and it breathes extremely well even with thicker hiking socks on. Much better than my old goretex vasque.
The waterproofing held up well during snowmaggedon and i had no probs walking in the slush. No moisture at all even with slush over the laces.
It kept everything really warm as well.
I have flat feet and it is slightly narrow in the mid section so it felt quite supportive. The ankle support is OK not the best but it is a MID so you can still turn an ankle easily in this boot.
The lacing system is pretty trick in that the last eyelet pinches and holds your laces tight for the tie, so everything in the forefoot remains snug even if your tie comes lose.
The front end does open up to allow for some wiggle room, but here is where i ran into my only problem.
I wear a 10M in everything i own (even other keen casual shoes and H2 sandals), these really mushed my pinky toes into a corner and would really start bugging me at rest.
I am returning these for some 10.5s and hope to have many years of use.
Other than these running 1/2 size too small these are some really sweet boots for light/moderate hiking in all conditions.
February 11, 2011
Husband loves them!!
My husband tried these on and couldn't believe how comfortable they were. He follows me around the hillsides as I am clicking away with my camera. Now he agrees that his feet will be able to keep up with me now.

Buy with confidence
One of the best pair of boots I have ever bought. I wear a size 10 W and this boot fits like a glove. I also have a pair of Merrell Moab xcr and I would recommend the Keen Targhee II every time. The Moab's took a few weeks to break in where the Targhee II felt like they were designed especially for my foot. The Keen Dry waterproof feature holds true. I live in Michigan and have been wearing them everyday walking through snow and slush and my feet have remained DRY, DRY, DRY. I am excited to take the boot on my trip out to Scottsdale, AZ in April. The reviews I have read state I have purchased the perfect hiking boot. Buy the Keen Targhee II with confidence. I guarantee you will never buy another brand/style.

I wore a Keen, now I'm a believer
A little about me: I have a wide, flat foot (kinda like a hobbit). I do a lot of rugged hiking on rocky terrain, often in wet conditions. I go through shoes fast. For the past 5 years, I have worn North Faces and have been somewhat content with their fit and performance. Their shoes generally have a high arch section, and to be honest, they do not really last through the torment I put on them. Not to mention for some reason their Gortex shoes have very little breathablility in my opinion.
Recently, I bought these shoes having somewhat low expectations from previous users reviews. First of all, they are extremely waterproof. Light rain: check. Heavy rain: check. Big Puddles: Check. Walking through 3-4 inches of water at low tide: Check. These shoes are very waterproof, and my feet and socks stayed dry through all exposures. In addition, this was also partly due to the breathable nature of the Keen Dry as well.
These shoes are also ready to hike in out of the box. It was very weird to not allot time for these shoes to be "broken in." This is most likely due to the flexibility of the sole and the nature of the shoe itself.
I cannot emphasize enough how comfortable these shoes are, at least for me. The big wow factor in this shoe I found was the heel and ankle support (and of coarse the width). I really noticed a difference in the heel cushion when hiking through solid terrain with my 50 lb pack. For people with back issues, this is a huge perk as most of the force directed through your heels is redirected to the L1-L2 lumbar vertebral segments. I felt the ankle support to be enough, but also not constricting enough that hot spots would be a problem. Although this shoes should be used for light hiking, I have used this shoe for backpacking with a 60lb pack with no issues. Not to mention I also worn this shoe to work at the hospital. I am still searching for a situation that I won't be wearing this shoe for, perhaps my wedding.
Overall, a great lightweight, and perhaps the most versatile mid hiker that I have ever purchased.
FYI: The Dark Shadow color scheme is more green that it appears online. See picture below

So far, Great purchase!
I haven't purchased boots in a long time, and these seem to be great so far. They are very comfortable out of the box, and no problem in light snow. I'm looking forward to wearing them throughout the winter. I can't actually comment on the durability, because it is a new purchase, BUT I will follow up later with a comment on that. Very nice looking and feeling boot for sure!

Targhhee II Mid hiking boot
Purchased this product because of the toe configuration of the boot. Wow, I was not disappointed .. the room in this area is great! These boots do require break-in but not much. A couple hours on the treadmill and they're good to go. They seem to run true to size. Some report poor ankle support but they seemed to work well for me and provide adequate support. They did lack some arch support but that's typical for my feet anyhow. My overall rating is only because they have not seen much wet weather yet so the waterproof test is TBD.
January 24, 2011
delivers as promised
Wore it for the first time right out of the box and into the pouring rain. Feet stayed comfortable, blister-free, warm and dry. Next time out was in the snow, and these boots delivered again. Roomy toe box and good traction make this pair my go-to hikers.
January 19, 2011
Great Ultra Light Hiker
These boots are amazingly light weight and very comfortable. They have a wide, almost squared off toe that gives them a distinctive appearance. Definitely a good looking boot overall, well-designed, and decent value for the money. I have a size 11 foot (medium width) and the 11.5 fit perfectly with one pair of merino wool socks. This boot is perfect for light hiking over easy trails with a 10-20 lb. pack. Already my favorite boot for casual walks and just kicking around in. Best boot out there if you keep intended use in mind.
January 17, 2011
Comfortable and Warm
Bought these for Christmas present for my son. He loves them. We got 26 inches of snow next week and he wore them for plowing and shoveling. He used them hiking in the woods already and raves about how light comfortable and warm they are.
January 15, 2011
Great Shoe
I haven't owned them for very long but they are VERY comfortable. I hope they don't get worn out too quickly. I purchased them for the snow and for hiking in the summer. I am looking forward to wearing them a lot. I got the dark shadow and they look very good. I didn't want a brown boot and they didn't have a true black one. They are very comfortable right out of the box which is great because I won't have to break them in like a normal boot.
January 15, 2011
Keentastic!
If you spend much time outdoors biking, hiking, or just walking about then you have heard of the Keen brand. Keen makes excellent outdoor shoes that are comfortable, warm, and weatherproof. They have a unique fit that are somewhat wider but are also somewhat shorter. Once you find your proper fit then you will be pleasantly surprised. These shoes were a winter buy as I have had the lower cut version Targhee shoes. They are every bit as comfortable and quality built. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in outdoor shoes for outdoor activities. I would also recommend a purchase from Altrec as they stand behind their products better than most other outdoor retail sellers.
January 12, 2011
Keen Targhee very comfortable
I wear these boots every day, they are the most comfortable I've ever had. I have worn them on a daily basis for two years. Walk three miles each day.
January 7, 2011
thoroughly impressed
My first Keen boot purchase (normally buy Merrells) and I'm am definitely happy. Only took a half a day to break in. Size is correct, and they keep my feet completely dry in the rain and snow. Have used them everyday since purchase(about 1 month) out and about and on long walks with no problems. I underpronate and these provide great cushion also. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
January 7, 2011
Great shoe, but not eVENT!
I ordered this shoe from Altrec because the description listed it as having the old eVENT waterproof lining (Keen discontinued eVENT and went to their own KeenDry lining about two years ago). I wanted eVENT because it is commonly believed to have the best breathability of any of the waterproof linings on the market. I was bummed out when I received the shoes and saw that it had KeenDry. At first, I was going to return the shoes immediately, but I decided to try out the shoes to see how the KeenDry lining actually is. To my surprise, I've been wearing these every day for the last week and they appear to breath fairly well (to be fair, temperatures haven't been above 50 degrees here in the last week, but with GoreTex my feet sweat a ton and are offered no breathability no matter how warm or cold it is outside). In summary, even though I still wish these were actually lined with eVENT, I'm so far pleasantly surprised with the breathability of KeenDry.
Other than the lining issues noted above, the rest of the shoe is excellent and highly recommended.

Repeat purchase
My first pair of Targhee II Mid boots have seen better days. After trying on several other hiking boots, I decided to stay with Keens in another color. My feet are flat and hurt after several miles of hiking and walking. Keens have been the most comfortable shoes for me. Most shoes in my closet are Keens. Sadly, I have noticed the my oldest Keens have survived better then the newer shoes. It seems the quality is decreasing. However, the comfort is good so I continue to wear them. I have hiked hot and cold climates with no problem.

Good but...
I hiked with these boots a few times at the presidential range. They are great. Very comfortable and pretty waterproof. The one thing i really like about the boots is that the sole rubber comes up to cover the front of the boots. I usually kick things when I hike so the front rubber will prevent the leather from being damage. The boots also runs a bit wide on the front which could be comfortable but other the other hand, your feet will move around inside the boots when you climb. I am not sure if this is a good or bad thing, I will leave it up to you to judge. The one thing I don't like is that the tract isn't great when the boots are wet. I slipped a few times hiking on wet rocks. I don't think it's me per se because other guys I hiked with didn't have the same problem I did. All in all, they're great and I do recommend it.

Men's Targhee II Mid Hiking Boots
GREAT toe room for people with a wide foot like mine! I have done a few hikes now with my new Targhhee's, and I find the boots give me good ankle support, and have excellent traction over uneven, rocky terrain. One cool feature is the shoelace clips at the top of the boots that keep the laces from loosening; preventing the need to retie my boots during my hike. A very nice addition to the boots.
December 27, 2010
Keen Targhee
Keen shoes are shaped like a human foot. Lots of toe room. Rugged and durable, no problems with stone bruises or twisted ankles on the most challenging hikes in Moab or on the AT.

Men's Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot
Very easy to break-in and very comfortable. Great sizing. I've only put 8 miles on these thus far but I can tell already that these are a quality product.
December 26, 2010
Very comfortable boots with sturdy sole. Work great right out of the box. True to size, I wear 11 and these fit like I would expect.
December 25, 2010
Good Products
These boots are good for hiking. I use them for backpacking as well as snowshoeing. Comfortable, reasonable durability (not great).
December 13, 2010
My most comfortable hiking shoe!
I wore a brand new pair of these into the Grand Canyon. No discomfort or blisters which cannot be said about my hiking partner. They are relatively soft on the soles which gives superior traction but at the cost of durability. After a year mine needed "shoegoo" to repair the bottoms. Definately order at least one half size larger than you would typically wear. I normally wear a 11.5 but the 12 fit perfectly and the wide toe doesn't rub on your toes. Great shoe for all around hiking wet or dry.

A trade-off between comfort and durability
This is the 4th pair of these boots for me in as many years. I wear them daily off-trail in prairies. They are the most comfortable shoe and my feet feel protected. However, the waterproof liner does not last more than a month or two. I usually have them restitched by a local cobbler and replace the shoelaces to get another few months of wear out of them. I realize that with the way I use them, they will not last as long as I hope, but still they are my favorite. I am a woman and find that the men's 9.5 fits be better than a women's 11.

Great Boots!
After owning Keen Newport H2 Sandals and slip-ons, I purchased the Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot a few weeks ago. I normally buy shoes in person to ensure a good fit. This time, based on knowing my Keen size (11.5) and reading the Targhee II's excellent reviews, I ordered a pair online. I should add that, earlier this year, before a long trip, I tried on hiking boots from a number of top brands and did not find one I liked enough to purchase. The Targhee II's have exceeded my expectations. First of all, they fit perfectly from day one. I am 6'2", medium build and my feet are medium width. The fit combines comfort, firmness and good support. On top of that, the boots are light weight and have kept my feet warm and dry in cold, wet weather. The soles provide good traction. Finally, the boots look good. It is too soon for me to evaluate durability. I liked them well enough to recommend them to my son. Based on my experience so far, I hope Targhee II's are around when I need a new pair.

Solid climbing and trailing boot
I checkout 3 Keen and 2 other brands.. and finally decided on this boot -- largely due to combination of PRICE and COMFORT. You won't be disappointed.
The only negative I've seen on this boot is that it wears fast (TBD) and sometimes the rubber separates from the sole (Keen said they offer a 100% satisfaction and will replace during 1st year -- perhaps longer...).

Christmas gift
My son was so satisfied with these boots - the size fit perfectly. Needed verllittle time for breaking in before hiking. He is looking forward to hiking the AT with these boots.

Great straight out of the box
I bought these just before heading out to Yellowstone a month ago and didn't have any problems with wearing them with no break-in. Very comfortable. Due to some family constraints I only did a handful of 4-6 mile hikes, but we covered some decent elevation rises during them. Still, my feet were quite happy and I didn't develop any blisters. Overall, I'm quite pleased with my purchase. I can't really comment on "Durability" at this point, but if they're anything like my other Keens I'm sure they'll hold up just fine.

Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot
I needed mid-size hiking boot for a trip we were taking on Vancouver island in British Columbia, Canada. We were going kayaking for 4 days, some day hikes and just walking around. I wanted a comfortable, lightweight boots that would endure hiking and not be overkill just wearing around town. Since I wear a size 14 (which can get small with wool socks), the frist thing I looked for was my size. When I found this Keen Terghee, in a size 15, I was very interested. Earlier in the spring I bought a pair of Keen sandles and they were the most comfortable shoes I owned. So I bought this targhee boot based on those two things. It turned out to be a great decision. They handled the trails just fine, comfortable, good grip and amazingly light weight. The toe area has plenty of room and I had no rubbing or movement in the heel area of the boot. They really turned out to be water proof as well. The top eyelet is more of a "holder" where you pull your shoe string into it and it is held in place, then you can tie it off. At first I didn't like this, but when I got use to it, it became convient to pull your shoes tight and then you can tie them or just tuck the laces in the boots for casual wearing. So far I've had no unusual wearing or problems with the quality of the boots. Some older reviews mentioned the toe rubber would work loose, but I've given them a good test and the quality seem very good to me. I like these boots a lot. They were great on the trail, but I've been wearing them to work everyday. I would recomend them for casual wear and for day hikes on the trail. They have exceeded my expectations.

Excellent boot
I've had some problems recently with blisters with some stiffer, heavier boots. However, these Keens were great. I had virtually no break-in time before a Colorado backpack to climb three 14,000-foot peaks, but I had no problems with these boots. No blisters, no nothing. One note: most of my shoes and boots are a size 10, but I needed a 10.5 with the Keens.

The Targhee II is second to none = it is the perfect blend.
This is my 4th and 5th pair of Keen Men's Targhee II Mid Hiking Boots. I bought two in case someone loses their mind and these become unavailable. Whether hiking in New Hampshire's White Mountains, or walking on the streets of San Antonio, this boot is perfect. The support system in the Targhee II is second to none, and the tread grabs the terrain like a Bighorn Sheep. The waxed upper is very forgiving of the scratches that come from serious hiking, and yet it blends well in more refined uses. It is the perfect blend.

I love these boots!
I was looking for a mid-weight boot with good ankle support, and I found them in the Keen Targhee II mid. My first outing was a long day of walking around Santa Barbara, and just breaking them in. After more than six hours of walking, I am glad to report no issues with these boots. I wore a pair of Cabot merino wool socks, and a pair of sock liners, and I also ordered the boots 1/2 size larger. Given, this was a day of city walking it afforded me a chance to break them in and get a feel for function and to check any possible issues. I am heading out, in a few weeks, for a weekend fishing trip and can't wait to give them an actual field test. All said and done, these are wonderful boots, and I will recommend them to others.

Awesome boot!
Keen is the only brand that fits the natural shape of my wide foot. Light weight and super comfortable right out of the box! Quick and easy lace-up system.

Great Shoes
This is the best shoes I have ever had because I prefer wide shoes around my toes, which doesn't mean that it doesn't fit. This makes me feel really comfortable when I work on fields. Overall, I would recommend this product.

Previous generation better
I bought these same boots about 14 months ago. I put over 300 miles on the boots in mostly dirt and paved surfaces. The fit was a little wide in the toe box but lacing design allowed for good adjustment. The heel was average fit. Traction is good in most conditions but a little slippery on rocks. With leather upper, the boots can be hot in summer but comfortable rest of the year (winter usually only down in 30s F). The shoe wore great so I bought another pair. Keen must have decided to save some money because padding is definitely decreased in ankle area and tongue of boot. I've put about 25 miles on the boots so far and padding difference is noticeable but still ok. I would have rated the boot a 4 if padding wasn't decreased.
